Chapter 455: Chapter 456: Bribery for Spaceship Modification Blueprint
Surveying his empty Immortal Guild City, Chu You headed to the teleportation formation and from there, teleported to the capital of Yan Kingdom.
Ruminating on his recent actions, Chu You believed that it would be considerably difficult at the current state of the game for players to acquire flight ability. Even if they got hold of Flying Wings, they could not get into Immortal Guild City. A death shield given by the ruling fortress, protecting the city against players, would stop them. If the ruling fortress was gone, the guild would be left exposed to their enemies; a troublesome situation for the small ’Immortal’Guild.
Therefore, Yan Kingdom’s ruling fortress must never be lost, relieving one of Chu You’s worries.
Unbeknownst to Chu You, not long after he teleported away, a girl appeared outside the City Above the Clouds, specifically outside the death shield. This girl was Jiucaier.
When Jiucaier was online a few days ago, she was bewildered. She remembered clearly being in the guild when she logged off, so why was she in a grand city when she logged back on? Had someone hacked her account? Jiucaier panicked.
After checking herself, she realized that she had been kicked out from the guild. Her heart felt pounded as if hit by a hammer, and she became even more panicky. She also noticed that Night Ghost’s profile had disappeared, leaving her with only one possibility - she had been blocked.
Jiucaier couldn’t understand why. She hadn’t done anything wrong. It was not until she learned about the dissolution of the ruling coalition and the disbandment of Super God Guild, that she faintly understood - Perhaps Night Ghost had been threatened.
Jiucaier felt heartbroken and angry. She wanted to tell Night Ghost that her heart would never change, she would always stand by his side without waiving. However, she no longer had the chance to express her feelings.
She couldn’t understand why Night Ghost would be so firm in his decision. Nonetheless, she eventually understood Night Ghost’s rationale and action, having interacted with him for quite some time now.
With a world-level rank of 5 at level 32, Jiucaier’s life was turned upside down. Her classmates and other schoolmates treated her almost as though celestially, they gave her the respect she earned from such an honour- something a high school sophomore wasn’t use to, leading to disturbance in her school life.
The game took too much of her time, leaving her hardly enough for school. Jiucaier finally dealt with an important matter of her life. She decided to drop out of school.
Only in this way she could rejoin the ’Immortal’ Guild.
In reality, the government had approached her, hoping she could join Genesis, to work for Genesis. However, Jiucaier declined clearly, revealing her displeasure. Fed up with people in the game, she blocked Genesis members from her friends’ list in the game.
Until now, she still doesn’t have a guild. Many major guilds wanted to draw her in, but she declined them all.
Due to her high levels, she couldn’t find any players to raid dungeons with and eventually, she could only go to the forest alone. Occasionally, she would kill Genesis players.
Every day in the game, Jiucaier would spend some time outside City Above the Clouds to look at Immortal Guild City, even when she was out of flight shards. Each time when her flight time was about to run out, she would rest up on a cliff to replenish her flight time, before flying again.
Appearing outside Immortal Guild City not only allowed her to look at how Immortal Guild City was faring.
Every time she did so, her heart filled with hope. She hoped Night Ghost could see her from inside since the protector’s shield was transparent. Unfortunately, each time she arrived outside Immortal Guild City, there was no one in sight.
Disappointment repeated and it was hard for her to accept this outcome.
This time, she saw Night Ghost, perhaps a few hundred meters away from her. The protector’s shield divided the distance between them and it was the closest she could get. However, just as her heart’s thrill surged from seeing Night Ghost, he disappeared into the teleportation formation.
One day, you will see me. By then, you should come to meet me and I would then have the chance...
At this moment, determination filled Jiucaier’s eyes. Once again, she checked her flight time and sighed softly, knowing that she wouldn’t teleport in time to see Night Ghost that day. She then used her Return Skill. When the skill was about to be fully executed, Jiucaier looked into the distance and saw a figure flying towards them. In the next moment, she teleported away.
It was a male player who had a pair of Platinum Level Angel Wings. After arriving, he aimed the video recorder at the ’City Above the Clouds’...
Chu You arrived at the Grand Marshal Mansion yet again. He was received in the Grand Marshal’s living room by the Grand Marshal, Cui Yun, along with four strangers who presumably had blueprints for airships.
"Greetings, Champion Marquis!" They stood up one by one to pay respect.
Chu You had to admit that possessing noble status brought lots of advantages. NPCs were always respectful and kept their distance. This couldn’t be more different from when NPCs met the common players. The players who were ennobled indeed reaped the benefits.
Cui Yun introduced his guests to Chu You and Chu You greeted them politely. He thought to himself that once he gets the blueprints, he would not further acknowledge them.
Turning to Cui Yun, Chu You spoke, "Grand Marshal, I appreciate your efforts in setting up this meeting given your responsibilities."
"Haha, no need to say, as for me, I brought the people as I promised. Now you guys go ahead and discuss while I handle some other matters."
"Alright, please proceed with your matters."
After Cui Yun left, only Chu You and the four strangers were left. Based on the introduction before, Chu You understood that these four people did not know each other.
After they had seated, Chu You started the conversation, "Presumably, all of you brought the airship blueprints, right?"
"Champion Marquis, the blueprint is with me. Please check if this is the right one." Saying this, one of them took a worn blueprint out from his bosom. Chu You immediately locked onto the item.
The locked item: "".
He nodded and revealed a hint of a smile on his face. "That is indeed it. May I ask how much you intend to sell it for?" He cut straight to the chase, not caring about the origin or how it was obtained.
"Marquis, this would be worth 50,000 Gold Coins, hehe-" With a very honest smile on his face, the NPC replied.
"50,000 Gold Coins... that’s a bit pricey, isn’t it?"
"Hehe, then let it be 40,000 Gold Coins. It can’t go any lower." Despite the laugh, the NPC was somewhat trepid.
"That’s more like it. Alright then, 40,000 it is."
After hearing the honourable man agreed without bickering, the NPC was even more thrilled. He had been afraid that the Marquis would use his powers to suppress him. Reverently like presenting a treasure, he handed the blueprint to Chu You and left right after the trade.
"Goodbye!" After uttering that, Chu You, expression filled with joy, turned towards the three other NPCs sitting there.
