Chapter 359: Chapter 359 Cheng Zhiwei, I Knew You Were Up to No Good

Cheng Zhiwei was busy until noon and only came out when it was time for lunch, to find He Ye waiting for her.

"What’s up?" she asked.

"Auntie said you’ve moved out?" He Ye looked at her with concern, furrowing his brows. "Don’t get me wrong, Auntie didn’t say anything else, she just asked if you came to work today, and I asked out of curiosity."

"Yep, I’ve moved."

"Why didn’t you tell me?" He Ye sounded a bit heartbroken. "Did something happen?"

"I argued with my dad, nothing major." Cheng Zhiwei didn’t want to talk about it.

"Have you found a place? Do you want to stay at my place first?"

Cheng Zhiwei turned down He Ye’s kindness. Not to mention that it wasn’t appropriate, Yu Shuhua was still living at his place—the awkwardness of running into each other was unbearable.

"Let me know if you need any help," He Ye said consolingly. "Do you need me to hire a nanny for the kids?"

"Senior, I’ve already arranged everything, don’t worry," Cheng Zhiwei said, her smile lifting.

But her smile carried a trace of fatigue.

He Ye stroked her hair, feeling a tinge of disappointment in his heart. She clearly had issues but refused to open up to him.

Perhaps she didn’t have much affection for him in her heart.

Or rather, not much in the way of romantic feelings.

Right then, a young girl sprang out, running up to He Ye with a smile, "Big Brother He."

Her gaze was lively as she looked at Cheng Zhiwei with curiosity, asking, "Who is this?"

"She’s my girlfriend, Zhiwei." He Ye introduced, "Zhiwei, this is Wen Yi, Wen Ya’s younger sister. Wen Ya sent her over to learn in the studio for a while, she’s just arrived."

"Hello, Wen Yi," Cheng Zhiwei nodded, greeting her.

"I know you, you’re the one with the nice voice, who got blacklisted by the whole internet." Wen Yi said haughtily.

Cheng Zhiwei couldn’t help but laugh, "That’s me."

Although the girl spoke with disdain, her personality was actually like a little sun.

Proud, but not off-putting.

He Ye gave Cheng Zhiwei an apologetic smile, then said to Wen Yi, "I’ll take you on a studio tour."

"I want her to accompany me," Wen Yi said, pointing at Cheng Zhiwei, her chin held high with pride.

"She’s busy," He Ye frowned.

"What’s the hassle in just looking around." Wen Yi said dismissively, "I just like her voice, I want her to accompany me."

"I’ll go," Cheng Zhiwei said.

For some reason, despite Wen Yi’s pampered behavior, she didn’t find her disagreeable.

He Ye had no choice but to agree, reminding Wen Yi not to trouble Cheng Zhiwei.

Wen Yi pouted, "I won’t."

Cheng Zhiwei took Wen Yi around the studio, acquainting her with all the staff members.

Wen Yi looked down on the place, rolling her eyes, "This place isn’t even that big."

Cheng Zhiwei laughed, "It’s not big, but like a sparrow it’s small yet complete. Otherwise, your sister wouldn’t have sent you here, right?"

"That’s true," Wen Yi said, shaking her head, "Then I suppose I’ll deign to stay here for a few days."

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t expose her insincerity; it was clear from the way she toured around that she actually liked everything here. But children always have some inexplicable contrariness.

They need some coaxing to be content.

"Let’s go have lunch," Cheng Zhiwei said, "Let’s see our employee meal."

"Alright, I’m quite hungry anyway."

Though the studio was small, with only a handful of staff, He Ye had still set up a small employee cafeteria and even hired two chefs.

Upon arriving, Wen Yi found the cafeteria was quite different from the canteens she’d imagined. It was simply arranged, clean, and included a dessert and drink section.

Her eyes lit up at the sight of sweets.

She ran over, grabbed a cake, took a bite, and praised its deliciousness.

The chef was delighted and served her another slice.

"Thank you," Wen Yi said, her smile curving in gratitude.

She showed none of her haughty and imperious behavior.

Cheng Zhiwei grabbed a casual cup of coffee, and the two found seats in a corner.

They had barely settled down when they heard a familiar voice near the desserts, "Xiao Ye really is something, with just these few people here, still hiring staff and arranging an employee meal, just giving more meal allowance would be sufficient, this way the expenses are even greater."

It was Yu Shuhua’s voice.

Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes dropped, stirring her coffee, wondering why Yu Shuhua was here today when she never came.

Then another female voice spoke up, "When Xiao Ye’s studio merges into our company, naturally the policies will be the same, and these fancy things won’t exist anymore, really too distasteful."

Cheng Zhiwei recognized the voice, it was He Mingzhu.

She wanted to merge the studio into the He family company?

Did He Ye know about this?

While these questions were turning around in her head, Wen Yi had already stood up, her charming voice filled with anger, "What are you two old women jabbering about here?"

It was probably the first time Yu Shuhua and He Mingzhu had been called old women, and it took them a few seconds to react.

Yu Shuhua rose too, angrily retorting, "Who are you insulting?"

"I’m insulting you!" Wen Yi snapped back, hands on her hips, her lips moving fiercely, "The desserts are perfectly delicious, and you’re badmouthing them. If you can’t eat them, don’t come here, all this unnecessary babbling."

He Mingzhu was also angry, but for the sake of her image, naturally wouldn’t argue with Wen Yi, and simply said, "Everyone has their own taste, what you like may not be what we like, there’s no need to be so aggressive."

"It’s like a pig can’t appreciate fine chaff."

Cheng Zhiwei was ready to just enjoy the drama seeing Wen Yi hold her own against the two, but then Wen Yi actually said something like that.

She couldn’t help herself.

"Cheng Zhiwei," He Mingzhu’s expression changed.

With Wen Yi’s insult and Cheng Zhiwei being there, it felt like a doubled affront.

Yu Shuhua scoffed immediately, "You must have instigated this, Cheng Zhiwei, I knew you were up to no good."

He Mingzhu had already gotten Zhou Chenyuan’s approval, so she no longer needed to find ways to marry Cheng Zhiwei off or drive her away.

Yu Shuhua’s attitude changed instantly.

She really disliked Cheng Zhiwei, and knowing that she no longer needed to appease her, she felt an entirely different vigor.

Cheng Zhiwei was indifferent to her attitude, rising slowly, "You disdain our studio, and our employees defend it, so what?"

"Employees?" He Mingzhu sized up Wen Yi, with her youthful appearance, like a rookie just starting out.

He Mingzhu was disdainful.

"She must be one of your relatives," Yu Shuhua also discounted Wen Yi, "Cheng Zhiwei, this is my son’s studio, not yours, don’t think about shoving all sorts of random people in."

"Old woman, shut your mouth," Wen Yi’s eyebrows shot up, having been rarely subjected to such grievances.

It was bad enough that the place was small, but to be accused of getting in through the back door was too much.

She couldn’t tolerate it.
