Chapter 347: Chapter 347 I Hate You

Zhou Ruoki’s crying was like a huge hammer, each sob striking Cheng Zhiwei’s heart with relentless force.

She watched Seo Zhenzhen struggle to lift her gaze one last time, looking at her with a mix of anger and resentment.

A chill ran through her heart.

Even in death, Seo Zhenzhen hated her.

"Qiqi." Cheng Zhiwei squatted next to Zhou Ruoki, her fingers trembling as she reached out to him, her voice exceptionally soft and gentle, "Qiqi, don’t be afraid."

Her hand was knocked away.

Zhou Ruoki’s eyes were red with distress, and at the age of two or three, he already knew what hate was.

He yelled at Cheng Zhiwei, "It’s all your fault, why won’t you let me go with mom."

In Zhou Ruoki’s deep conviction, if it hadn’t been for Cheng Zhiwei’s refusal to let them leave, this wouldn’t have happened.

He almost screamed hoarsely, "I hate you."

Cheng Zhiwei’s face turned pale, her body went cold, and the strength was drained from her by that one word, "hate."

Tears fell as she frantically explained, "No, Qiqi, listen to mom."

"You’re not my mom, you’re a bad person." Zhou Ruoki pushed Cheng Zhiwei fiercely, threw himself onto Seo Zhenzhen’s body, and clung to her without letting go.

"Qiqi."

"Zhiwei." He Ye hurriedly helped Cheng Zhiwei up, "Are you mistaken? How could he be your son?"

Zhou Lin looked at Seo Zhenzhen, whose eyes were wide open and who had stopped breathing, bent down to lift Zhou Ruoki, and despite his struggles and cries, he did not let go.

Zhou Ruoki’s struggles got weaker and eventually, he buried himself in Zhou Lin’s arms, unable to cry anymore.

Cheng Zhiwei, supported by He Ye, was in a daze.

The ambulance arrived quickly and took Seo Zhenzhen away.

Zhou Ruoki insisted on following the ambulance, accompanied by Zhou Lin.

Cheng Zhiwei tried to follow, but Xu Tian had already driven over, taking her to the hospital.

Seo Zhenzhen was dead.

The car was so fast, it had almost broken all her bones.

Zhou Lin and Secretary Zhang went aside to negotiate with the driver responsible for the accident and arrange Seo Zhenzhen’s affairs.

Zhou Ruoki sat on a chair, his expression blank, his eyes dull and lifeless.

Cheng Zhiwei watched him for a long time, wanting to approach, but she dared not.

In Zhou Ruoki’s heart, Seo Zhenzhen was his mother. If Seo Zhenzhen had not died, Cheng Zhiwei could have proved through a paternity test that Zhou Ruoki and Seo Zhenzhen were not actually mother and son.

But Seo Zhenzhen was dead.

No matter what Cheng Zhiwei did, to Zhou Ruoki, it all seemed malicious.

She covered her face, tears streaming down.

How could fate play such a cruel joke.

"Zhiwei." He Ye held her shoulders, his voice gentle and full of sympathy, "If it weren’t for you, Zhou Ruoki would have been dead by now. Compared to that, what does such a misunderstanding matter?"

If it hadn’t been for Cheng Zhiwei throwing him aside in that instant, Zhou Ruoki would have died alongside Seo Zhenzhen.

That would have been the most terrible outcome.

Cheng Zhiwei clenched her teeth and nodded, "I know."

She just couldn’t accept that Zhou Ruoki hated her, especially for someone like Seo Zhenzhen.

"How did you know Zhou Ruoki was your child?" He Ye asked softly.

If only I had known earlier, today’s tragedy might not have happened.

Cheng Zhiwei murmured weakly, "Seo Zhenzhen herself said that Zhou Ruoki was bought."

"Bought?"

At this point, Cheng Zhiwei saw no need to keep hiding it and shared everything about the third child.

She deeply regretted her own willfulness back then, "Zhou Lin had a paternity test, Qiqi is his biological child, Seo Zhenzhen said he was bought, I think he must be Yangyang and Xingxing’s brother."

"It’s all my fault, if it hadn’t been for me, how could he possibly have been bought by Seo Zhenzhen, secretly bullied by her."

"Zhiwei, it’s not your fault, nobody could have seen this coming," He Ye sighed, stroking her hair.

Moreover, the chances of having triplets are quite low.

Who could have known that Cheng Zhiwei would win this improbable prize.

"Besides, I think a paternity test is still needed to confirm it, right?"

It’s useless to say anything now, Cheng Zhiwei shook her head, gazing painfully at Zhou Ruoki, she wanted to get closer to him but feared upsetting him, so she could only watch from afar.

Just when she was in deep sorrow, there were hurried footsteps in the corridor.

Cheng Zhiwei looked up and saw Cheng Shang approaching.

Cheng Shang almost tremblingly asked, "Where is Seo Zhenzhen?"

His voice was stern, his gaze icy cold.

He Ye held Cheng Zhiwei protectively in his arms and explained, "Uncle, this isn’t Zhiwei’s fault."

Cheng Shang wasn’t listening, "I asked you, where is Seo Zhenzhen?"

"She’s dead," came a voice devoid of emotion.

Zhou Lin walked over, his gaze landing on He Ye’s hand on Cheng Zhiwei’s shoulder. He frowned, his face expressionless as he said, "You get so angry upon arriving, do you think Seo Zhenzhen’s death has something to do with Zhiwei?"

Cheng Shang’s face changed slightly, he had been too hasty, asking questions without understanding what had happened.

Faced with Zhou Lin’s questioning, his temper cooled down, "What exactly happened?"

"Seo Zhenzhen tried to kidnap Zhiwei and was about to take away Zhou Ruoki when she was hit by a car," Zhou Lin briefly explained, "This has nothing to do with Zhiwei, she just didn’t want Seo Zhenzhen to take Zhou Ruoki away."

"Zhou Ruoki is her son, why can’t she take him away, what are you meddling for?" Cheng Shang blurted out angrily, "Are you happy now that someone has died?"

Cheng Zhiwei’s lips trembled, resentment growing in her voice, "She had it coming."

Cheng Shang was furious, "What did you say?"

"Zhiwei, don’t say anymore," He Ye hurriedly interrupted Cheng Zhiwei, turning to Cheng Shang, "Uncle, you weren’t there at the time, you don’t know what happened, Seo Zhenzhen’s death has nothing to do with Zhiwei."

"Am I wrong? She deserved to die," Cheng Zhiwei continued, her hatred intensifying whenever she mentioned that name.

She couldn’t say anything in front of Zhou Ruoki, but with Cheng Shang, she spoke her mind.

"I just want to know, what exactly is your relationship with her that you have to stand up for her like this?"

Even rushing over hurriedly upon hearing something happened to Seo Zhenzhen.

It could be said, all the misfortunes in Cheng Zhiwei’s life began with Seo Zhenzhen’s appearance.

From the first time Seo Zhenzhen appeared in the Cheng Family, she never felt like she was being sponsored; she secretly compared herself with Cheng Zhiwei at every point, lamenting the unfairness of fate.

Jealous of everything about Cheng Zhiwei, even planning an incident six years ago in a hotel that led Cheng Zhiwei and Zhou Lin to have relations, then appearing as a victim to gain Zhou Lin’s sympathy, making Zhou Lin detest and hate Cheng Zhiwei.

All the harm done to Cheng Zhiwei stemmed from jealousy.

But such jealousy must have a reason.

Now, Cheng Zhiwei could guess, that reason had something to do with Cheng Shang.

Back then, why did he just happen to sponsor Seo Zhenzhen and even eventually bring her to live in the Cheng Family?
