Chapter 295: Deliberately Implying that Cheng Xing Has No Father

Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Deliberately Implying that Cheng Xing Has No Father

He Ye brought Cheng Xing to buy ice cream and ended up buying some for everyone.

While waiting, they ran into Zhou Lin and Zhou Ruoki, who were also there to buy ice cream.

The two children, held by adults, spotted each other instantly.

Zhou Lin naturally saw Cheng Xing, as well as He Ye holding her.

His pupils shrank a little, and seeing how well-behaved Cheng Xing was, he felt a pang in his heart.

After all, he was supposed to be the one holding Cheng Xing.

He Ye nodded politely, "President Zhou."

Zhou Lin grunted in reply, the nod that of acquaintances.

Zhou Ruoki sensed Zhou Lin’s mood and called out uneasily, "Daddy."

Zhou Lin asked, "Which one do you want?"

Zhou Ruoki pointed at the panda cup.

Zhou Lin nodded and, as if in passing, asked Cheng Xing, "What about big brother?"

He Ye shifted Cheng Xing to the other side, remaining silent.

As they talked, the store owner handed over four ice creams, neatly arranged in a box.

Zhou Lin glanced over and saw there were four. His fingers curled slightly, and he couldn’t hold back, his tone somewhat cold, "Xingxing has always had a weak stomach, and can’t eat anything cold. Didn’t you know?"

He Ye was startled, but not angry, merely looking down at Cheng Xing in his arms, "Xingxing, is what Uncle Zhou saying true?"

Uncle Zhou?

Zhou Lin almost laughed out of exasperation, "He Ye, are you trying to deceive her or yourself?"

Cheng Xing hid in He Ye’s embrace, whispering, "I’m sorry."

Since she was little, her health was poor, and she couldn’t eat anything cold, so she was always away from ice cream.

"It’s okay." He Ye stroked her hair, "If Xingxing wants ice cream, then next time, Uncle He will make you a milkshake, okay?"

Cheng Xing’s eyes lit up immediately, revealing a sweet smile, "Thank you, Uncle He."

Their close relationship made Zhou Lin jealous.

Zhou Ruoki had already received his ice cream. He looked down and said cautiously, "If it melts a bit, can I have a little?"

Cheng Xing bit her lip, looking at He Ye full of hope.

He Ye smiled and shook his head, "Alright, when it’s melted, let Xingxing have a taste."

This time Cheng Xing was truly delighted, "Thank you, Uncle He."

She even smiled at Zhou Ruoki.

Zhou Lin watched Zhou Ruoki with complex emotions, not expecting that Zhou Ruoki would come up with a suggestion for Cheng Xing and even receive her gratitude.

Zhou Ruoki, slightly embarrassed, blushed, but the corners of his mouth turned up.

The two children seemed to have a good relationship.

For a moment, the sharp words of displeasure wouldn’t come out.

"Qiqi," Seo Zhenzhen’s anxious voice came. Her white dress made her look young and beautiful. As she approached, she slowed down and straightened her hair, "Why are you here with daddy?"

She glanced at Cheng Xing without leaving a trace, emphasizing the word "daddy" heavily.

The smile at the corners of Zhou Ruoki’s mouth disappeared in an instant, and he shuffled uneasily, "Daddy bought Qiqi ice cream."

Seo Zhenzhen glanced casually, not caring what Zhou Ruoki bought, her focus was on the fact that Zhou Lin had bought it for Zhou Ruoki.

She asked loudly on purpose, "It’s great to have a daddy, isn’t it, Qiqi?"

The veiled mockery that Cheng Xing didn’t have a dad.

But before Cheng Xing showed any reaction, Zhou Lin had already darkened his face and coldly asked, "Where did you run off to?"

Seo Zhenzhen replied with a sense of grievance, "I just sat over there for a while, and when I turned around, you were all gone, so I came looking for you."

Zhou Lin gave a cursory glance and commented indifferently, "Coming to the amusement park to play, dressed in a skirt, I don’t know what you were thinking."

Coming to the amusement park, Seo Zhenzhen wore a knee-length skirt, which meant there were many rides she couldn’t go on, so most of the time, she just stood by and watched.

In fact, she regretted it as soon as she arrived because she knew she should have stayed with Zhou Ruoki the whole time, acting like a good mother, instead of standing around in a white dress as a spectator.

But... it wasn’t entirely her fault.

"But you said it looked good," Seo Zhenzhen counterargued with a tone of grievance.

Zhou Lin simply picked up the child and walked away, showing an attitude of not bothering with Seo Zhenzhen at all, a stark contrast to his demeanor that morning.

Seo Zhenzhen gritted her teeth and followed after him, "Ah Lin, wait for me."

She ran a few steps, turned her head to glance at Cheng Xing, and a trace of hatred flickered in her eyes—it was all because of her that Zhou Lin’s attitude had suddenly changed.

There was no way she would let her get off easily.

She stopped a girl and pointed towards where He Ye was, whispering something to her. The girl’s eyes lit up, constantly glancing over towards He Ye.

Seo Zhenzhen bowed her head and smiled maliciously. Cheng Zhiwei, I hope you like the present I’ve sent you.

By the time He Ye realized something was amiss, it was already too late. A few girls approached asking for a group photo, and not far away, an ever-growing crowd could be seen.

He raised an eyebrow, protected Cheng Xing’s face, smiled, and greeted his fans, telling them not to frighten the child.

Someone excitedly asked, "Is that your daughter?"

"Are you married?"

He Ye chuckled and said, "She’s my friend’s daughter. I brought her to get ice cream."

Someone immediately noticed the four servings of ice cream in his hand, implying that at least two other people were with them.

Perhaps two adults, or maybe one adult and one child—of course, everyone knew the latter was more likely.

With the gossip right before their eyes, who would want to leave?

Everyone eagerly began to look around, trying to spot anyone who fit the description.

Looking helpless, He Ye bent down and kissed Cheng Xing’s head, softly comforting her not to be afraid.

Cheng Xing clutched at his clothes and huddled in his arms without moving an inch.

As the crowd kept growing, He Ye tried to move forward, but finding that someone was attempting to sneak a touch on Cheng Xing, he didn’t dare to take any risks and could only do his best to protect the child while negotiating with the fans.

Finally, showing a touch of impatience, he frowned and took out his phone ready to send a message to call his assistant to alert the police.

Before the message could be sent, several black-clad bodyguards suddenly cut through the crowd, clearing a path.

Zhou Lin stood outside the crowd, his gaze cool, "Aren’t you leaving?"

As an adult carrying a child, the fans quickly realized that this was all a misunderstanding.

However, some felt there was obviously something off, as who would come to an amusement park with two men each bringing a child?

Something was amiss.

But the wall of black-suited bodyguards was too solid, and the fans eventually gave up, watching them leave.

When Cheng Zhiwei heard the news and hurried over, He Ye and Cheng Xing were nowhere to be found. She took out her phone, saw He Ye’s message, and hurried with Cheng Yang to an indoor rest area not far away.

Seeing Cheng Xing safe and quietly eating, her anxious heart finally settled, and she quickly entered.

"Are you okay?" she asked.
