Chapter 251 She Doesn’t Want It Anymore
Chapter 251: Chapter 251 She Doesn’t Want It Anymore
The next day, Zhou Lin put on a new shirt. Although it was just an ordinary brand and not of the best quality, he wore it with extra comfort.
He even woke Cheng Zhiwei up, twirled in front of her, and kissed her deeply, "Wife, your taste is really good."
Cheng Zhiwei was annoyed, slapped him, and said, "I want to sleep."
Zhou Lin couldn’t help but smile, her demeanor gave him a real sense of being part of one true family.
With his charming wife in his arms and their unborn child, this was probably the happiest thing.
Zhou Lin even didn’t want to go to work, but there was a big project negotiation today and he couldn’t miss it, so he lingered for a long while before leaving reluctantly.
Once he left, the feistiness and impatience in Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes disappeared instantly. She stared at the ceiling expressionlessly, feeling somewhat nauseous.
After a long while, she finally sat up, hugging the quilt, and saw a message from Cheng Zhiyin on her phone, asking how she was doing today.
Cheng Zhiwei sent a video, and while Cheng Zhiyin was having breakfast, they chatted for a bit before hanging up.
Meanwhile, Cheng Zhiwei received a recording.
It was from Xu Tian. Since they couldn’t meet in person, they always found a way to communicate.
Cheng Zhiwei just wanted to find out what had happened, so she immediately deleted the recording after listening to it.
She sat weakly on the bed, clutching her chest. The things Xu Tian talked about in the recording were the same as those in the photo sent by someone unknown.
Zhou Lin, had hurt her a lot.
She felt relieved that her intuition about Zhou Lin had always been right.
After calming her emotions for a long time, she managed to maintain her composure and went downstairs for breakfast.
Spending days at home was boring. Cheng Zhiwei kept herself busy and threw away quite a few old items.
Including those scriptures.
When Zhou Lin came home, what he saw were the scriptures, discarded carelessly in the corner.
He paused, walked over, and after a few seconds of silence, neatly repacked the box.
The maid watched from the side, worried Zhou Lin might get angry and hurriedly said, "The Young Madam said these are things she doesn’t want anymore."
Seeing the young master’s face look unhappy, she hoped he wouldn’t take his anger out on her.
"Where is the Young Madam?" Zhou Lin asked.
"In the living room."
Zhou Lin entered and found the house looking completely different.
Cheng Zhiwei, with narrowed eyes and hands on hips, said in a triumphant tone, "Zhou Lin, look, I threw away many old things."
As if just realizing the box in his hands, she suddenly seemed a bit unsure and said, "Do you still want this? Sorry, I didn’t know."
Zhou Lin’s throat tightened. Suddenly, he didn’t know what to say. These were the scriptures she had gone through so much trouble to get back for him, a symbol of her feelings for him.
But now, she didn’t want them anymore.
Even though he knew she couldn’t remember those things anymore, Zhou Lin still felt very uncomfortable. His heart felt as if it were being kneaded by an invisible hand.
Cheng Zhiwei observed his expression anxiously, "I’m really sorry. I thought these were just superstitious feudal relics. You actually believe in this?"
After she spoke, she felt she might have said too much and explained, "I don’t mean to criticize you. This is your thing; you can keep it in the study. I didn’t touch the study."
Zhou Lin came back to his senses and calmly said, "It’s okay."
He kissed her forehead and took the box to the study, treating it with such care, as if it were a priceless treasure.
What an irony.
Cheng Zhiwei turned her face away, and a saying came to mind; delayed affection is cheaper than grass.
Zhou Lin arranged the scriptures neatly and placed them on the bookshelf.
He turned to leave, passing by the master bedroom when he suddenly halted.
The guest room next to the master bedroom had been transformed into a nursery, the walls painted ocean blue and the ceiling adorned with stars.
The discomfort that had weighed in his heart suddenly dissipated, leaving a softness throughout his being.
She had amnesia, so it was normal that she couldn’t remember certain things.
But now, she was carrying his child, and that was what mattered most at the moment.
He exhaled a sigh of relief and took another look around the room.
"Do you think it looks good?" Cheng Zhiwei, who had appeared quietly at his side, asked, "I changed the room without consulting you; are you upset?"
She asked with a hint of caution.
Zhou Lin turned and embraced her, his voice soft and tender, "You are my wife, you can do whatever you want."
"Good," Cheng Zhiwei said happily as she pulled him into the room, "You are the father of the child, and you should feel involved. Take a look, is there anything missing?"
Zhou Lin couldn’t help but smile, his mood at this moment made him not even want to distinguish whether her happiness was real or feigned.
But even if it was feigned, he was willing.
In the end, Zhou Lin installed new lights in the room.
Cheng Zhiwei also posted on social media.
They were becoming more and more like a loving couple.
Everyone would think Cheng Zhiwei had forgiven Zhou Lin, and they would love each other for a lifetime.
Even Zhou Lin himself felt this way.
The first day of March was bright and spring-like.
That day was Xu Tian and He Lanzhi’s wedding.
Although He Lanzhi was reluctant, he had to bow to reality and was forced to marry Xu Tian, while Seo Zhenzhen’s fame reached new heights under the company’s operations, becoming a national goddess.
Cheng Zhiwei, arm in arm with Zhou Lin, attended the wedding dressed in a soft pink long dress, making her look exceptionally gentle and beautiful.
Zhou Lin, in a well-tailored black suit, looked handsome and mature. With his distinct status, many came to greet him, but he remained indifferent, only showing warmth when talking to Cheng Zhiwei.
Many women cast envious glances, after all, Cheng Zhiwei’s reputation was not exactly good.
Having slept with a best friend’s boyfriend and causing the death of that friend’s sister, she should have been ostracized and pitied.
Yet, now she had become a winner in life.
At a table further away, Seo Zhenzhen clenched her teeth to control not showing a jealous grimace; she now had status and position thanks to the resources Zhou Lin provided, but what of it.
She had lost love.
The soft and happy look on Cheng Zhiwei’s face was supposed to be hers.
"What’s the matter? Miss Seo, doesn’t the food taste good?" Xu Tian’s mocking voice came, light and airy, "Or is it that seeing a loving scene between others makes you lose your appetite?"
Seo Zhenzhen gripped her cup tightly, "Xu Tian, what do you have to be proud of, marrying He Lanzhi, are you really in love?"
"It doesn’t matter, I don’t like him anyway," Xu Tian said, holding her wine glass and smiling, "It’s just a pity for you, though, unable to have Zhou Lin or that useless He Lanzhi now, how does it feel to be empty on both ends?"
"Really? Who wins or loses is still not certain," Seo Zhenzhen scoffed.
Xu Tian curled her lip, taking her wine glass and walking away.
Seo Zhenzhen’s expression twisted as she stared at Cheng Zhiwei for a long minute before getting up and leaving.
