The Temptation of CEO's Pregnant Ex-Wife
Chapter 250 He thought that slowly, she would accept him again.

Chapter 250: Chapter 250 He thought that slowly, she would accept him again.

Cheng Zhiwei remained seated, merely supporting her chin with one hand and smiling faintly, "Oh, is that so? The first thing you did when you came in was to ask about Miss Seo. I thought you were here for her. I was even thinking, ’Great, Miss Seo now has someone to back her up."

Anyone could detect the sarcasm in her voice.

Zhou Lin sighed in resignation, "You’re just overthinking it. If you weren’t here, why would I come?"

He was cajoling in a low voice.

Seo Zhenzhen’s face turned pale as she struggled to say, "Ah Lin, don’t get the wrong idea."

If Zhou Lin had been a bachelor, Seo Zhenzhen’s words would have carried some weight, but Zhou Lin was a married man. Her words made her sound as if she was someone significant to him.

"Get the wrong idea about what?" Cheng Zhiwei turned her gaze towards Seo Zhenzhen. "What are you to him that you’re afraid he’ll misunderstand?"

"I..." Seo Zhenzhen bit her lip, about to speak.

Zhou Lin gave her a cold glance and then went to hold Cheng Zhiwei’s hand with a smile, "Alright, don’t be upset. Are you done shopping? If so, let’s go."

Seo Zhenzhen looked down, jealousy and hatred flitting through her eyes.

Zhou Lin was protecting Cheng Zhiwei like this, treating her like a treasure, whereas she meant nothing to him.

Cheng Zhiwei glanced over the jewelry on the counter, casually pointing to a set and instructing the clerk to bill it, "Wrap it up, please. Give it to Miss Seo, so she doesn’t leave empty-handed after coming all this way."

With Mother He present, Seo Zhenzhen naturally couldn’t get anything.

Feeling humiliated, Seo Zhenzhen finally spoke up firmly, "He Lanzhi and I are innocent. Cheng Zhiwei, you don’t need to be sarcastic and take subtle jabs at me here."

"Oh, the innocent relationship of picking out a ring," Cheng Zhiwei said with an expression that suggested she understood it all.

Zhou Lin paused, looking at Seo Zhenzhen, "If you want to settle down with Lanzhi, I can help you."

What he meant was if Seo Zhenzhen wanted to be with He Lanzhi, he would help her.

He would help her handle both the He family and Xu Tian.

Mother He’s face turned even uglier, glaring hatefully at Seo Zhenzhen with a silent warning.

Xu Tian had an indifferent attitude, "CEO Zhou, with what you’ve just said, where does that leave me, the fiancée of He Lanzhi?"

She didn’t love He Lanzhi, but she needed the status of being his fiancée.

Tears hung in Seo Zhenzhen’s eyes, and she swayed unsteadily, "Ah Lin, you... you know my feelings."

Why speak such words to insult her?

"Sis, let’s go," Cheng Zhiwei withdrew her hand from Zhou Lin’s and took Cheng Zhiyin’s arm, then paused and said to Zhou Lin, "The new clerk is quite good."

She left without looking back.

Zhou Lin’s demeanor suddenly cooled down, and he instructed Secretary Zhang, "Take care of it."

"Yes, President Zhou," Secretary Zhang bowed his head, quickly made a phone call, and following that, two clerks received their termination calls.

They suddenly realized how foolish they had been.

When Zhou Lin got into the car, Cheng Zhiwei was instructing the driver, "Please take my sister home first."

Zhou Lin sat next to her, "Let’s invite sis to have dinner with us before she goes home."

Cheng Zhiwei turned to him with a smile, "What’s the matter? I said a few words about Seo Zhenzhen, and you’re upset?"

"Zhiwei, you’ve misunderstood," he replied.

"Then why are you inviting my sister to dinner?"

Zhou Lin narrowed his eyes, observing Cheng Zhiwei’s expression, but no matter how carefully he looked, he couldn’t discern anything; it seemed as if she had mentioned it casually.

"Why say that? Sis is tired from shopping with you; it’s only right that we treat her to a meal."

Cheng Zhiwei sighed, "I don’t know, I just always feel like you have an ulterior motive."

She touched the area over her heart, "Strange, why do I feel like you’ve used dinner as an excuse for something before."

Zhou Lin’s dark eyes deepened with a trace of panic, but his face showed no change; he simply wrapped his arms gently around Cheng Zhiwei’s shoulders, "You just love to imagine things."

"Fine, if you’re worried, then let’s drop sis off first," Zhou Lin relented.

He went along with her wishes, not wanting her to remember too much.

The reason he went to the mall was that he knew Xu Tian and Seo Zhenzhen were both there; in that moment, he clearly understood his own panic.

He hid everything, simply because he didn’t want Cheng Zhiwei’s memories to have a chance of recovery.

Cheng Zhiyin returned to Maple Courtyard and sent a message to Xu Tian to arrange a meeting.

Back at Sparkling Sky City, the servants carried several bags in, and Cheng Zhiwei asked them to put the items in the living room for her to arrange herself.

Wang Mei accompanied her.

When she took out one of the bags, her expression clearly worsened, and she casually tossed it to Wang Mei, discontentedly saying, "Take it out and throw it away."

Wang Mei opened it and glanced inside, "A shirt?"

She took it out, noticing it was a men’s shirt, "Is it for the young master?"

Zhou Lin, who was drinking water, paused, his gaze shifting over, "For me?"

"No," Cheng Zhiwei replied without looking up, continuing to organize the items.

The shadow fell over her as Zhou Lin already sat next to her, a smile playing on his lips.

She had bought something for him, and his mood was extremely joyful. He took the shirt, "Since it’s bought for me, why throw it away?"

Cheng Zhiwei puffed up in anger, reaching out to snatch it back, "Who said it’s for you."

Zhou Lin just laughed, wrapping one arm around her waist and using his other hand to cup her chin in a deep kiss.

He just knew that she had him in her heart.

Realizing this, every pore in his body opened with excitement, feeling very comfortable.

The servants quickly avoided them, leaving only Cheng Zhiwei and Zhou Lin in the living room.

After the deep kiss ended, Cheng Zhiwei collapsed weakly into Zhou Lin’s arms, her face peachy, her eyes soft and moist, her lips gleaming with a watery sheen.

She glared at him angrily, "Hooligan."

Zhou Lin carefully lifted her onto himself, affectionately nibbling on her earlobe, his voice soft and delicate, "Is the shirt really for me?"

"Not... Mmm..."

After being teased yet again, Cheng Zhiwei slapped the bag into his chest, annoyed, "It’s for you, it’s for you, now scram, don’t cling to me."

"Thank you, wife," Zhou Lin kissed her cheek once more.

Wife?

A touch of irony passed through Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes, but it was quickly concealed.

"Enough, let me go, I need to arrange these things."

"Just like this, how will you arrange? I’ll help you."

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t hesitate, giving a flurry of orders.

Many of the things she bought were for the baby, and they were all in pairs.

"Why buy two sets?" he asked.

Cheng Zhiwei looked nonchalantly at the items, "One set is definitely not enough, gotta switch them out."

As she spoke, her eyes curved, her entire being radiated a gentle maternal glow.

Zhou Lin was mesmerized, "We’re not divorcing" almost slipped out of his mouth but he managed to hold it back in time.

This was not the time for such words, as it would provoke her aversion, especially when they had just started to grow closer.

Pinching her fingers, he felt completely satisfied, "These things can be prepared by the servants, no rush."

"The baby’s things, of course, must be prepared by the mother herself," Cheng Zhiwei gave Zhou Lin a disdainful look, "You wouldn’t understand."

Zhou Lin then said nothing more, thinking that gradually, she would come to accept him again.
