Chapter 232 I Don’t Want It

Chapter 232: Chapter 232 I Don’t Want It

"I’ll still grant you three years’ worth of resources, plus the significant loss this time to save you, which is enough to offset everything from the past. You and I have nothing to do with each other after this, don’t show up in front of me."

"Ah Lin, I know I was wrong," Seo Zhenzhen cried and pleaded, "I really know I was wrong, please don’t abandon me."

"Get out," Zhou Lin said in a low voice, "I forgave you once for what you did three years ago, but you haven’t shown any remorse... Get out of here."

Cheng Zhiwei cast her gaze downward and moved aside, indeed the next second, Seo Zhenzhen came out crying.

Their eyes met, and Seo Zhenzhen’s were filled with hatred as she stormed off angrily.

Cheng Zhiwei stood for a while before entering, and casually brought Zhou Lin a glass of water, "Zhang Yuanheng said your leg isn’t too serious, you can go home and recuperate in a few days."

Zhou Lin "hmm"ed and said with a wry smile, "It seems I’ll have to spend the New Year in the hospital."

Today was already the twenty-ninth of the twelfth lunar month, tomorrow was New Year’s Eve.

"Your health is most important," Cheng Zhiwei offered a word of comfort, and as for what she had heard, she would not bring it up.

Secretary Zhang brought breakfast over, and Cheng Zhiwei ate a bit before calling Lin Yu to inform her about Zhou Lin’s car accident.

Lin Yu arrived quickly and, seeing that Zhou Lin was alright, finally let out a sigh of relief, scolding him, "You’re always causing trouble, it’s almost New Year’s, and now you end up in the hospital."

Zhou Lin waited for Lin Yu to finish scolding, then said, "It’s not like I can’t go back."

After getting an injection, he could still sit in a wheelchair.

"You better stay in the hospital," Lin Yu gave him a look, "Zhiwei will come back with me for the New Year. I’ll send someone else over to take care of you."

"Fine," Zhou Lin had no objections.

Cheng Zhiwei only went to the Zhou Family’s house for the reunion dinner, then packed some meals and brought them to the hospital, which brightened Zhou Lin’s mood that had been gloomy all day.

The New Year passed uneventfully, and after about ten days, Zhou Lin was discharged. He refused to go back to Sparkling Sky City and insisted on going to the Cheng Family’s house instead.

Unable to persuade him, Cheng Zhiwei had no choice but to accompany him and stay again at Sparkling Sky City, as Zhou Lin’s leg injury kept him from going out, and quite a few people visited in succession.

Using the excuse that he needed to recuperate, Zhou Lin basically sent the visitors away after half an hour.

He Lanzhi brought Seo Zhenzhen over once.

Looking at Zhou Lin’s leg, He Lanzhi asked with concern, "Is it getting better?"

Seo Zhenzhen wanted to speak, but seeing Zhou Lin’s indifferent expression, she swallowed her words and hung her head in distress.

He Lanzhi sighed, "Zhenzhen has been really worried about you, but she couldn’t come to see you... She only did that thing because she cared too much about you, please forgive her."

Zhou Lin glanced at Seo Zhenzhen emotionlessly and said flatly, "I can’t tolerate betrayal in my eyes."

He had given her a chance, but she had collaborated with Zhou Jinzhong out of selfishness. Did she not realize Zhou Jinzhong’s merciless ambition?

Feigning a kidnapping, then forcing him to come rescue her and fall into the trap Zhou Jinzhong had set, if he hadn’t sensed that something was off, he would have lost his life long ago.

"Ah Lin," Seo Zhenzhen bit her lip, her voice pitiful as she called his name, tears brimming in her eyes, "I really know I was wrong, I promise I’ll never do it again, won’t you forgive me just this once?"

He Lanzhi, playing the peacemaker, said, "Zhenzhen won’t do such things again in the future."

"I guess you still have several relatives to visit, so I won’t keep you," Zhou Lin issued an order to leave.

"Zhenzhen’s family only has her, it’s quite lonely. Let her stay here for a few days, and I’ll come to pick her up after a few days," He Lanzhi said.

Zhou Lin flatly refused, "The servants at home have gone on holiday, no one to tidy up the rooms."

"I can come by myself," Seo Zhenzhen said hastily, "you’ve injured your leg, I can take care of you."

"Cheng Zhiwei taking care of me is enough," Zhou Lin said bluntly.

He Lanzhi saw that he was displeased and had no choice but to leave with Seo Zhenzhen. As soon as Seo Zhenzhen got into the car, she started crying, "He still refuses to forgive me. I really was just trying to test him; I didn’t expect the consequences to be so severe."

He Lanzhi could only sigh, "I know. Let’s wait for some time. I’ll arrange to meet with Zhou Lin and we can talk."

The day after the Lantern Festival, Cheng Zhiwei repacked her suitcase and brought up the topic of divorce with Zhou Lin again.

Zhou Lin calmly peeled an egg and placed it in front of Cheng Zhiwei without saying a word.

He thought she had given up.

"Eat the egg." Zhou Lin looked deep into Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes, his thin lips slightly pursed, as if he hadn’t heard what she said.

Cheng Zhiwei picked up her chopsticks and started to eat breakfast, thinking that whether or not the divorce was to happen, she was still going to leave.

Just to peacefully eat her last breakfast here.

But as soon as the egg reached her mouth, Cheng Zhiwei felt a wave of nausea surge from her stomach. She covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom, throwing up everything she had eaten.

Zhou Lin carried a glass of water into the bathroom and saw her pale face, tears hanging at the corner of her eyes in pain.

"What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Zhou Lin asked.

After rinsing her mouth, Cheng Zhiwei said in a hoarse voice, "Maybe I ate something bad."

Zhou Lin frowned; the meals at home were always prepared by Wang Mei, whose cooking skills were excellent and who was very reliable. It was impossible for the food she made to cause any issues.

But he couldn’t explain what was wrong with Cheng Zhiwei.

He went out to call the driver to get the car ready.

At that moment, Wang Mei came out of the kitchen with soup and asked with concern, "What’s wrong with the Young Madam?"

"Don’t know what she ate, her stomach is upset, and she vomited." Zhou Lin’s face looked grim.

Cheng Zhiwei was taken to the hospital by Zhou Lin for a checkup.

Zhang Yuanheng examined Cheng Zhiwei’s pulse and his expression suddenly became serious. He wrote a slip, "Go for a checkup."

Zhou Lin’s heart skipped a beat, fearing that Cheng Zhiwei was afflicted with some serious illness, his expression dark.

After the checkup was finished and they returned, Zhang Yuanheng’s office had an additional middle-aged female doctor. She asked Cheng Zhiwei several questions, and by the time she finished, Zhou Lin had basically understood.

The normally composed man’s voice trembled slightly, "Is she pregnant?"

The female doctor smiled and offered congratulations, "It’s very likely, but it’s best to wait for the test results to confirm."

Cheng Zhiwei’s head buzzed, and she was still dazed when Zhou Lin touched her face and then gently her stomach, pulling her into a tight embrace.

"Zhiwei, you’re pregnant."

It must have been that time on the ship; he had taken her there to relax, not expecting anything to happen. Moreover, he had been drugged and in a critical condition, so no precautions were taken at that time, and he had forgotten about it afterwards.

Cheng Zhiwei’s lips trembled, and her complexion turned terribly pale. She looked at the female doctor, her voice light as air, "I want to schedule a time for an operation."

Zhou Lin’s arm stiffened, and his face darkened, as he stared at her coldly, "What do you mean? You don’t want it?"

Cheng Zhiwei indeed didn’t want it; she liked children but was clear that the child was coming at the wrong time.

There were too many uncertainties in her marriage to Zhou Lin; the child, if born, would suffer.

Her hand was squeezed painfully as Zhou Lin’s face twisted in displeasure, and through clenched teeth he said, "Don’t you dare."

Cheng Zhiwei looked at him quietly, stating bluntly, "I don’t want it."
