The Temptation of CEO's Pregnant Ex-Wife
Chapter 214: Who Are You Messaging?

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: Who Are You Messaging?

Lin Yu’s heart ached immeasurably for Cheng Zhiwei, such a good girl, who gave her heart away as soon as she liked someone, considering every aspect. She deserved better.

Holding that thought, Lin Yu immediately called the driver to take her and Cheng Zhiwei to the mall, where she bought several outfits, and then took Cheng Zhiwei to a café, calling out her own sisters to join them.

After a few words, Lin Yu had Cheng Zhiwei add that person’s WeChat, and then that person recommended several more WeChats for Cheng Zhiwei to add.

Lin Yu watched happily, urging Cheng Zhiwei to add them all, why not make more friends, there’s always a chance to meet someone who understands her worth.

On the way back, Lin Yu told Cheng Zhiwei to be active in chatting with others, but of course, if she encountered someone who spoke unpleasantly or whom she disliked, to ignore them.

Cheng Zhiwei agreed to each instruction.

Once home, she started clutching her phone, chatting with four or five men at the same time; she was really busy, even holding her phone while eating.

She didn’t even know what the person on the other end had said, yet her lips occasionally curled up in a smile.

After dinner, she still couldn’t let go of her phone.

Zhou Lin watched, frowning deeply, just about to approach and see exactly who she was chatting with when Lin Yu called him over.

In front of him, Lin Yu passed on the scripture recordings Cheng Zhiwei had made for him, sarcastically saying, "This is what Zhiwei recorded for you, you better listen carefully, wash your ungrateful heart clean."

Lately, she always spoke to Zhou Lin with sarcasm in her tone, which Zhou Lin ignored.

He glanced at Cheng Zhiwei again and asked Lin Yu, "Who is she chatting with?"

Lin Yu bluntly refused to answer, "That’s none of your business."

Zhou Lin, feeling helpless, heard Lin Yu say again, "Is there nothing at the company that needs your attention? Busy yourself with asking questions here; if you have nothing else to do, go to the study and review some documents, focus on more projects."

At that moment, Wang Mei called Lin Yu.

Lin Yu turned to leave, then turned back to warn Zhou Lin, "Don’t bother Zhiwei. If she feels unwell again, you’ll see how I deal with you."

Zhou Lin dismissed Lin Yu’s words, stepped forward with his long legs, and approached Cheng Zhiwei. Cheng Zhiwei was quite sensitive to his approach and immediately shifted aside, clutching her phone to her chest, warily watching him as though she feared he would snatch it.

Zhou Lin’s eyes darkened with coldness, and he asked, "Who are you messaging?"

Cheng Zhiwei frowned and looked down. Right then, her phone’s notification sound went off, ringing four or five times in succession, quieting down for a few seconds before bursting out again several times.

It was clear the person on the other end was messaging frequently.

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t answer, looking like she wanted to reply but was also afraid Zhou Lin would see, which slightly infuriated Zhou Lin.

He knew everything about her; why was she still avoiding him like this?

"Cheng Zhiwei, I’m talking to you," Zhou Lin raised his voice, yet Cheng Zhiwei, gripping her phone, didn’t even look up.

Zhou Lin grew agitated, thinking to himself that he had deleted all of his contacts who were close to her from WeChat, and those left were just acquaintances seldom contacted. Cheng Zhiwei wasn’t an outgoing person; who could she be chatting with so jovially?

But Cheng Zhiwei was treating him like air.

The living room quickly returned to silence, but Zhou Lin’s presence was overwhelmingly tense. Cheng Zhiwei, not wanting her chat content seen or her phone snatched away, found it very uncomfortable to chat like she was hiding something. She simply got up to return to her room.

If he was there, couldn’t she just leave?

Before she took a step, Zhou Lin caught her wrist. He spoke indifferently, "I’m talking to you. Can’t you hear?"

Their proximity was close enough that his voice was clearly heard by Cheng Zhiwei.

She bluntly lifted the hair above her ear for Zhou Lin to see, revealing that she wasn’t wearing her hearing aid, so naturally, she couldn’t hear what he was saying.

Zhou Lin’s palm tensed for a moment, then he couldn’t help but increase the pressure of his grip.

He felt a tiny bit of guilt for the words he had just spoken.

But this emotion didn’t affect him in the slightest, he quickly adjusted his feelings, slightly lowered his head, and his thin lips were almost pressed against her ear, "I asked you, who are you chatting with?"

The warmth of his breath rushed into her ear, bringing an oddly itchy sensation.

Cheng Zhiwei suddenly widened her eyes and awkwardly took a big step back, her pale earlobes turning a pretty light pink, filled with naivety and innocence.

Zhou Lin’s eyes flickered, right, she remembered nothing, hence her reaction was so... adorable.

These words popped into his mind, and Zhou Lin paused, his lips involuntarily curling into a small smile.

Yet Cheng Zhiwei felt repulsed, wishing she could be miles away from him, and answered dismissively, "A friend."

"Who?" Zhou Lin pressed.

But Cheng Zhiwei was too far away and couldn’t hear clearly anymore, so she turned to leave.

However, with his long legs, Zhou Lin quickly pulled her back, lowered his head displeasingly to look into her eyes, still pressing near her ear, "I’m asking you, who is it?"

Cheng Zhiwei tried to break free, but Zhou Lin’s grip was strong, and her struggles were futile.

All she could do was stare at his stern face, which was almost pressed against her cheek, his lips at her ear breathing so intensely, inescapable.

Cheng Zhiwei’s only ever liked Zhou Lin in her life, and she had never been so close to any "strange" man before; her struggles were useless, and for a moment, she completely froze, her face turning white then red, her moist eyes filled with grievance.

Zhou Lin immediately felt a sense of amused exasperation; he had only asked her two questions, yet she looked as if she had been bullied.

But her expression only made him want to tease her even more.

Zhou Lin didn’t let go but leaned even closer to Cheng Zhiwei, his lips now kissing her earlobe, "Speak."

Cheng Zhiwei could feel that unusual touch, and her instinctive reaction was to push Zhou Lin away harshly, trembling with anger, her words faltering, "You... you... jerk..."

Zhou Lin raised an eyebrow, softly touching her earlobe which felt tender to the touch.

"Where’s your hearing aid?" he asked.

Cheng Zhiwei pulled a small box containing the hearing aid out of her pocket, explaining that wearing the hearing aid for a long time made her ears uncomfortable, so she would take it off when she could, enjoying the silence as long as the surrounding noises weren’t too loud.

Moreover, she didn’t like Zhou Lin and didn’t want to know what he was saying, so naturally, she didn’t want to wear the hearing aid.

Now putting on the hearing aid, her expression was still unpleased, "What exactly do you want?"

Communication was indeed difficult. Zhou Lin, managing his temper, asked with a furrowed brow, "I asked you, who are you chatting with?"

What was clearly a simple question had somehow drawn out until now.

Cheng Zhiwei pursed her lips, "A friend."

"Who?"

Cheng Zhiwei felt that Zhou Lin was being unreasonable. Who she chatted with was her freedom, and he was being too controlling, "A friend introduced by an aunt."

Zhou Lin’s face darkened immediately; he wasn’t unaware of his mother’s little schemes, but he hadn’t expected things to start so quickly.
