Chapter 132: Chapter 132: He Favors He Lanzhi and Wants to Trap Her in This House

Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes felt dry, her fingernails digging into her palms. She dragged her left foot, turned her head, and walked out.

She’d barely taken a step before Zhou Lin pushed her back down, his emotionless face becoming anxious, "Cheng Zhiwei, do you not want your foot anymore?"

Cheng Zhiwei forcefully pried off his hand, "It has nothing to do with you."

"Cheng Zhiwei, I will make He Lanzhi apologize to you, compensate you. Whatever demands you make, I’ll ensure they’re met to the best of his ability," Zhou Lin gripped her wrist, "I promise, such an incident won’t happen again."

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t want to listen to this. She pulled her hand back and stubbornly stood up again. She had a recording and didn’t need to ask Zhou Lin for anything.

Zhou Lin’s face darkened, and he picked her up with a decisive force, carrying her upstairs into the master bedroom. His grip was as firm as iron, and she couldn’t escape.

Her voice changed with anger, "Zhou Lin, let me go."

Zhou Lin placed her on the bed and snatched away her cell phone, pressing his brow, "I said, stay at home and recover. I’ll handle those matters."

"Give me my phone." Cheng Zhiwei clenched her fists, her gaze fixed desperately on her phone. Zhou Lin’s actions made her feel like she had fallen into an ice cave.

He was not only intending to favor He Lanzhi but also to confine her in this house.

With a boulder pressing on her chest, Cheng Zhiwei’s vision began to darken in waves.

"Once you’re recovered, I’ll return your phone," Zhou Lin said as he turned off the phone right in front of her and walked away.

"Zhou Lin, how could you do this to me." Cheng Zhiwei screamed as if she was losing her mind and lunged at him, only to fall heavily onto the carpet. Her left foot was in too much pain; she couldn’t muster any strength.

Zhou Lin paused in his steps but didn’t look back, his voice indifferent, "Cheng Zhiwei, you’re only hurting yourself with this commotion."

Once he said that, he walked away with large strides.

Cheng Zhiwei lay on the ground, her ankle hurting badly, her heart accumulating countless agonies, causing her to tremble all over and cry out loud.

In the hallway, Zhou Lin walked away with an expressionless face that was terrifying.

Secretary Zhang stood at the end of the corridor, by the study door, and spoke in a low awkward voice, "Miss Seo is here, downstairs."

Zhou Lin hummed faintly in response, slipping Cheng Zhiwei’s phone into his pocket before he went downstairs.

Seo Zhenzhen saw Zhou Lin coming down and immediately called out, "Ah Lin."

Zhou Lin didn’t even glance at her, heading straight to the kitchen. He instructed Wang Mei, who was preparing ingredients, to take care of Cheng Zhiwei upstairs and to stay with her every step of the way.

Wang Mei silently washed her hands and went upstairs.

Zhou Lin then ordered Secretary Zhang to arrange for food delivery.

Seo Zhenzhen bit her lip gently, watching him arrange everything for Cheng Zhiwei one by one, feeling a sour and bitter sensation emerging somewhere in her heart.

Even knowing... she still felt jealous...

After Zhou Lin had made all the arrangements, Seo Zhenzhen put on a look of concern and asked softly, "Is Zhiwei okay?"

Zhou Lin massaged his brow, fatigue settling on his face and amplified by the light, "Why are you here?"

Seo Zhenzhen wheeled closer to him, sighing softly, "Zhiwei called the police, now Lanzhi is in trouble."

She paused before continuing slowly, "Earlier at the bar, I saw Cheng Zhiwei with her phone, I thought she might record something. I came to see her and to ask, we can’t let Lanzhi get into trouble, right?"

Her expression turned sorrowful, "I just found out, Lanzhi wanted to get back at her for me. She had Gao Wei use Cheng Zhiwei’s photo to threaten her older sister. Then, she manipulated her sister to blackmail Cheng Zhiwei into death."

Cheng Zhiwei, that person, if only threatened by her photo, she might rather die than submit, but it was different with Cheng Zhiyin. That was her own older sister; she had no choice but to comply.

And that photo was taken by CEO Wang of Tianchen when Bai Zhuzhu was designing a trap for Cheng Zhiwei.

Zhou Lin took a drag of his cigarette, his expression dark and fearsome, "Where is he?"

Seo Zhenzhen said, "He knows he did something wrong and doesn’t dare to see you."

Zhou Family sneered coldly, "He still knows he’s wrong?"

"He really knows he’s wrong, and he did it all because of me," Seo Zhenzhen said, covering her forehead, her gaze falling to her toes. "It seems like I’ve caused quite a lot of trouble for you since I came back. If I had known this would happen, I should not have stayed."

Her tone was filled with self-reproach, "Zhuzhu and Lanzhi kept offending Zhiwei all because of me. It’s all my fault."

Having said that, tears rolled down her cheeks.

Zhou Lin’s heart instantly softened, "It’s not your fault, it has nothing to do with you."

"Can I see Zhiwei? I want to talk to her about the recording."

Zhou Lin’s fingers touched Cheng Zhiwei’s cell phone, caressing it slowly and then gripping it tightly, yet his face remained completely calm, "Hmm, I understand."

"Ah Lin," Seo Zhenzhen’s fingers rested on the wheelchair handle, she looked up slightly at Zhou Lin, biting her lip as if she wanted to say something.

"What is it?" Zhou Lin looked at her intently.

Seo Zhenzhen asked softly, "I want to see Zhiwei and apologize to her in person."

She paused, biting her lip helplessly, "After all, the root cause of all these incidents is me. I truly feel guilty."

"These things happen; no one wishes for them. You should go back. I’ll take care of He Lanzhi," Zhou Lin said, then waved to call Secretary Zhang, "Take her home."

Seo Zhenzhen was stunned for a moment, then nodded gently, "Okay, then please take care of it."

Zhou Lin pushed the wheelchair and personally escorted her to the car, "Don’t worry about these things. Just focus on getting your treatment, and you’ll be fine. The doctor said after one last surgery, you could try standing up."

At the mention of this, Seo Zhenzhen’s delicate face bloomed with a radiant smile, "Ah Lin, I will definitely try hard to stand up."

Zhou Lin affectionately stroked her hair, "Mmm. Listen to the doctor and leave everything else to me."

Seo Zhenzhen’s face showed a relieved smile, then her gaze lifted and settled on the window on the second floor.

Zhou Lin followed her gaze and immediately saw Cheng Zhiwei. She was standing by the bed, the white curtain flowing with the autumn breeze, her half face partially concealed.

Seo Zhenzhen’s smile vanished instantly, "Zhiwei seems to have misunderstood again. I’m sorry, Ah Lin."

Zhou Lin’s face showed no emotional change, as if whether Cheng Zhiwei misunderstood was irrelevant. He bent over to instruct Secretary Zhang to safely take Seo Zhenzhen home. Just as he was about to stand up, his coat was tugged on.

Seo Zhenzhen pursed her lips, her eyes reddening, "Ah Lin, can you come with me to see Lanzhi? I’m afraid he might do something uncontrollable in his agitation, and you know, he won’t listen to me."

Zhou Lin hesitated for a moment, wanting to look up at the second floor, but he immediately realized such a move would seem deliberate. So he nodded and followed into the car, "That might be for the best."

Seo Zhenzhen’s heart settled, thinking to herself that she was just overthinking. How could Zhou Lin possibly pity Cheng Zhiwei...
