Chapter 899: Chapter 868: Notification, Pick Up Someone

He Tiantian thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes, we should definitely inform his parents."

When they got home, Grandma Wang, seeing He Tiantian and Wang Ying returning, asked anxiously, "How are they?"

Wang Ying’s eyes reddened.

He Tiantian said solemnly, "Brother Yingjie has broken bones but is not in life-danger; Yuan Chao has been seriously injured, but fortunately, he has been saved."

"Thank heavens," Grandma Wang clasped her hands together, "you should go inside and drink some ginger soup right away and get a good few hours of sleep. We’ll have to go to the hospital to care for them tomorrow."

"Hmm," He Tiantian nodded, "Grandma Wang, you should also go to sleep soon. I expect I won’t be at home tomorrow, and the children will still need you to look after them."

"Thank you, Grandma Wang," expressed Wang Ying gratefully, at this moment she simply didn’t have the time to take care of the children.

Grandma Wang said, "Don’t worry about home, I’ll take care of the children!"

Grandma Wang went to rest.

He Tiantian prepared some ginger soup for Wang Ying to drink and then made two bowls of noodles, but Wang Ying only ate a little.

After a quick wash, she joined He Tiantian to rest in the bedroom.

Wang Ying tossed and turned, unable to sleep, worried about her husband in the sickroom.

As soon as the sky began to brighten, Wang Ying got up and said, "Sister-in-law, I’d like to go home and get some clean clothes for Yuan Chao, then head to the hospital. I simply can’t put my mind at ease."

"Alright," He Tiantian nodded, "I’ll have Zhang Ning drive you."

Zhang Ning, hearing their conversation, quickly started the car, then went to wash up.

Once he was done, the car was warmed up, ready to take Wang Ying away.

He Tiantian started cooking congee in the rice cooker, then went to the room to pack some clean clothes for Huo Yingjie.

After that, the children woke up, and He Tiantian dressed them.

Once everything was ready, and it was time for breakfast, Grandma Wang said, "Tiantian, once you get to the hospital, have Zhang Ning notify the Huo Family Old Mansion."

"Hmm," He Tiantian nodded, it was right to inform the family about Yingjie’s accident.

Since it was too late yesterday, He Tiantian was worried about frightening the elders; seeing that Huo Yingjie was not in serious danger, she hadn’t informed the Old Mansion.

After breakfast, He Tiantian, carrying several thermoses filled with breakfast—porridge, steamed buns, soy milk, dough sticks, and a large bag of clothes—went to the hospital.

When she arrived at the hospital, Wang Ying was already there.

He Tiantian set down her things and asked, "Has Yuan Chao woken up?"

Wang Ying nodded and replied, "Yuan Chao just woke up once, he’s extremely weak and has fallen asleep again."

"That’s good, sleeping means he is recovering," He Tiantian said, "You haven’t had breakfast yet? Come, let’s eat something together."

He Tiantian poured a bowl of porridge for Huo Yingjie. Since only his leg was broken and his arm was fine, he could eat by himself.

Zhang Ning and Xie Wu also had some food, just to fill their stomachs.

"Zhang Ning, make a trip to the Huo Family Old Mansion and gently break the news to grandpa and grandma. Try to be diplomatic and mention just the fracture to keep the elders from being too distressed," He Tiantian reminded him.

"Understood, sister-in-law," Zhang Ning nodded, wiped his hands, and left.

Wang Ying had a steamed bun and a bowl of porridge and said, "Sister-in-law, I’m going to send a telegram to my in-laws to have them come over. It’s just that I worry about them..."

He Tiantian thought for a moment and said, "How about this, wait for Zhang Ning to come back from the Huo Family and then have Xie Wu run to your hometown to pick up the elderly couple. This way, we can avoid any accidents on the road."

Wang Ying’s eyes lit up when she heard this and gratefully said, "Thank you, sister-in-law! Thank you, sister-in-law. I’m really worried about Yuan Chao and can’t go myself."

"No need to thank me." He Tiantian said, "We are all good brothers and sisters."

As He Tiantian was speaking, Huo Zheqian and Huo Yingjun rushed over hastily.

They worked for the government and were well-informed. They had received the news at their workplace today and hurried over without having had time to inform the old mansion.

Zhang Ning shouldn’t have been that fast, right?

"Uncle, big brother?" He Tiantian was somewhat surprised to see the arrivals, "Zhang Ning has just gone to notify them; he shouldn’t have reached the old mansion yet, right?"

"How is Yingjie doing?" Huo Zheqian asked, noticing that He Tiantian was not extremely distressed, which meant there probably wasn’t a fatal issue, "I just received the news at work and rushed over. I happened to meet Yingjun at the hospital entrance."

He Tiantian nodded and said, "I see. Yingjie is in the ward, you go in first. I’m going to see Yingjie’s colleague."

"Alright, you go ahead." Huo Zheqian said, hurriedly moving on.

Doctor Liu was performing an examination on Zhou Yuanchao, and said, "If there are no surprises, we should be able to move him to a regular ward this afternoon."

Upon hearing this, Wang Ying wept silently and continued praying.

"Wang Ying, look, Yuan Chao’s complexion is getting better. He certainly won’t have any problems," He Tiantian said, "With such a good wife like you, and such an adorable child, as well as parents and a younger sister to take care of, Zhou Yuanchao, a man who is so responsible, surely won’t bear to leave."

"Yes, sister-in-law, I also believe that Yuan Chao will wake up," Wang Ying said, choking back sobs, "he won’t bear to leave us..."

He Tiantian didn’t stop comforting Wang Ying.

Wang Ying felt a bit better, but because she hadn’t slept well at night, combined with the tension, she almost fainted several times. He Tiantian had no choice but to arrange for her to rest on a hospital bed.

"Wang Ying, rest well for a bit." He Tiantian said, "If you’re like this, when Yuan Chao wakes up and you faint, how will you take care of Yuan Chao?"

Wang Ying nodded and said, "Alright, I will rest for a bit."

Though she said this, her eyes kept staring at the clock on the wall, hoping the afternoon would come as quickly as possible.

On the other hand, Old Madam Huo and Old Master Huo were somewhat anxious when they heard their grandson had fractured a bone, but they were slightly relieved that there was no danger to his life.

Arriving at the hospital, Old Madam Huo saw that only Huo Zheqian and Huo Yingjun were in her grandson’s ward, without He Tiantian.

"How is Yingjie doing?" Old Madam Huo asked anxiously, "And Tiantian, she hasn’t gone off to work, has she?"

"Grandmother, grandfather, I’m sorry to have worried you. I just have a fractured leg; it’s not serious," Huo Yingjie said, "Tiantian didn’t go to work, she’s over there accompanying my colleague’s wife."

"What happened to your colleague’s wife?" asked Old Madam Huo, puzzled why the usually astute He Tiantian was not here taking care of her husband but instead tending to someone else.

"My colleague, Zhou Yuanchao, got seriously injured trying to save me, and he is still in the intensive care unit," Huo Yingjie explained, "His wife couldn’t bear it, so Tiantian was worried and went to help take care of her."

"I see," Old Madam nodded, "that’s only right. Later on, your grandfather and I will also go to thank them."

Hearing the commotion on this side, He Tiantian said, "Wang Ying, give me your in-laws’ address. I’ll send someone to pick them up. It should take about three to four days to bring them over."

"Alright, I’ll write it now," Wang Ying nodded, asked the nurse for paper and pen, and wrote down an address.

He Tiantian took the address, found Xie Wu, and sent him to fetch Zhou Yuanchao’s family.
