Chapter 881: Chapter 850: Performance, Kindergarten Routine

He Tiantian was quite surprised and even more certain of her guess.

Her daughter was a bit of a ditz though her son was a secretive little sesame-filled dumpling with strong self-discipline.

Huo Ruimin woke up, and upon hearing her brother’s words, suddenly remembered she was now a student, attending school.

"Mom, hurry, I need to go to school now, Teacher said we can’t be late," Huo Ruimin urged, ready to leave in her tiny pants, no longer caring about her appearance.

He Tiantian pulled her daughter back and smiled, "Don’t worry, we won’t be late. Come on, put on your pretty little dress."

"Mmm-hmm," Huo Ruimin responded, now embarrassed by her state of undress.

He Tiantian took a towel to wipe their faces, applied some moisturizing cream, combed Huo Ruimin’s hair into a high ponytail adorned with a sparkling hair clip, and led them to school, one on each side.

They happened to meet many other parents dropping off their children, exchanging greetings.

Teacher Xiao Wang was counting the students and, after greeting the parents, took the children inside.

He Tiantian greeted the other parents before heading back home.

At five o’clock, He Tiantian came back to pick up the children.

Once He Tiantian started school, the task of dropping off and picking up the children would fall to Grandma Wang or Xie Wu and Zhang Ning.

But for now, she still had over ten days to pick up and drop off the kids.

Thinking that the children usually had a snack after three o’clock and hadn’t eaten anything today, they must be hungry.

When He Tiantian went to pick up the children, she took two steamed rice balls with her, each with pork floss and vegetables like cucumber and carrot inside, and each only the size of a child’s fist—just enough to tide them over without spoiling dinner.

The rice balls were wrapped in wax paper, and He Tiantian divided them among the children to eat as they walked.

The children, seeing the food, were indeed overjoyed.

They finished them in a few bites.

"Mom, I’m still hungry," Huo Ruimin said, "I want to eat more..."

Huo Ruihua too looked eagerly at his mom.

He Tiantian smiled and said, "Just a little bit is fine, we have tasty food for dinner. If you eat too much now, you won’t have room for the delicious dishes when Dad comes back."

"Okay," Huo Ruimin nodded. After all, she wasn’t hungry anymore.

They would wait to eat dinner with Dad.

"So, what did the teacher teach you on your first day of school?" He Tiantian asked with a smile, encouraging the children to talk.

"Teacher taught us how to make friends," Huo Ruimin said, "I already have four friends, Mom, can I bring Little Bear biscuits to school tomorrow?"

He Tiantian thought for a moment and replied, "Sure! Tomorrow, I’ll give you and your brother some extra, so you can share the biscuits with the whole class, how about that?"

"The whole class?" Huo Ruimin frowned, "But there is a Little Fatty who pulled my braid."

"Someone bullied you?" He Tiantian was surprised; there was a conflict on the first day.

"No, I knocked him down," Huo Ruimin said, "He doesn’t dare to talk to me anymore..."

He Tiantian’s face twitched slightly, her children were fighting on the very first day of school.

"Mom, don’t worry, I apologized to my sister and now Little Fatty and I are friends," Huo Ruihua explained, comforting his mother.

Upon hearing this, He Tiantian could breathe a sigh of relief.

She didn’t need to intervene; her son had already solved the problem—such a good boy.

"Then, how about you and your sister share the biscuits with your classmates tomorrow?" He Tiantian asked, deciding to leave this matter to her son.

"I can do that, Mom," Huo Ruihua nodded seriously.

"Mom, I can do it too," Huo Ruimin chimed in to assert her presence.

"That’s okay, but Ruimin has to get along well with her classmates from now on, okay?" He Tiantian squatted down to talk to her daughter.

The daughter thought about it and nodded, "If no one bullies me, I won’t bully anyone else."

"Alright," He Tiantian said. After all, she couldn’t just let others bully her child and not allow the child to stand up for herself.

She couldn’t raise her child to be a pushover!

It was almost six o’clock, Huo Yingjie got off work and came home.

Huo Yingjie asked the children what they had learned at school now.

The children chattered away in their childlike language, answering Dad’s questions.

After dinner, Huo Yingjie took He Tiantian out to practice driving, as the roads were less crowded when it got dark, making it a good time for lessons.

After driving around, He Tiantian stopped at the pastry shop and bought a lot of little bear cookies.

The next afternoon, when He Tiantian was dropping off the kids, she packed two bags of little bear cookies into their backpacks.

"Teacher Xiao Wang, the children get very hungry in the afternoon, so I’ve brought some cookies. There are quite a few, so you can share them with the other students," He Tiantian said with a smile, "Kids can be mischievous, please guide them with care, teacher."

Teacher Xiao Wang smiled and said, "It’s very normal for children to squabble, they will make up soon. We’re watching over them, nothing will go wrong."

"Thank you, Teacher Xiao Wang," He Tiantian smiled and then sent her children inside.

After one class, Huo Ruimin and Huo Ruihua were hungry and took out the cookies.

Teacher Xiao Wang saw them and was surprised to see so many cookies!

She then remembered what Ruimin’s mom had said about sharing them with the students.

"Teacher, we would like to share the little bear cookies with our classmates," Huo Ruimin said. "Please help us distribute them."

"Okay!" Teacher Xiao Wang smiled, took the cookies, and started to share them with everyone.

"Teacher, mom said we should wash our hands before eating," Huo Ruihua reminded. "If we don’t wash our hands, we’ll get a stomachache."

Teacher Xiao Wang smiled and said, "Ruihua is great, we should wash our hands before eating. Teacher Li, could you help bring over a basin of water?"

The children, hearing that there was food and feeling hungry, washed their hands obediently.

Huo Ruimin, Huo Ruihua, and Teacher Xiao Wang distributed the little bear cookies together, and with the sharing of cookies, the twins’ relationship with the other children improved a lot, and more were willing to be their friends.

Friendships among children form quickly.

In the evening, on the way home, Huo Ruihua and Huo Ruimin couldn’t stop talking to their mom about how they had made many new friends.

They wanted to bring some more the next day.

After that, He Tiantian often brought snacks for the children, and many parents inquired about where she bought them.

He Tiantian told them, and they went to purchase some as well, bringing them to the school for their kids to share with others.

He Tiantian’s simple act inadvertently increased the business for the Sanfeng Bridge Pastry Shop.

This turned out to be an unexpected delight!

After about half a month of effort, He Tiantian finally learned how to drive and even got her license, ready to hit the road officially.

Since Huo Yingjie usually taught He Tiantian to drive on the roads, He Tiantian wasn’t nervous about driving on them.

In the morning, Huo Yingjie, feeling concerned, sat in the passenger seat, watching He Tiantian drive the children to school, then drive to her own school.

After dropping He Tiantian off at school, Huo Yingjie went to work.

Picking up the children at noon was naturally Zhang Ning’s task.

Grandma Wang was getting on in years, and while she could help watch the children at home, picking them up, especially two mischievous ones, wasn’t easy.

Neither He Tiantian nor Huo Yingjie felt comfortable with that.
