Chapter 839: Chapter 808 Preparation, Goodbye
When it was just the two of them, He Tiantian couldn’t help but hum an unknown tune, yipping and yapping as she cleaned the house, twisting her graceful figure as if she were dancing, to express her joy.
They finally didn’t have to live apart anymore.
Now, when there were things to deal with at home, she could discuss them with Huo Yingjie right away.
After Huo Yingjie finished washing up, he saw such a cheerful He Tiantian.
"Are you very happy?" asked Huo Yingjie with a smile as he dried his hair.
"Mhm, very happy," replied He Tiantian. "From now on, you’ll be able to come home every day."
"But we need to move to Yanjing, don’t we?" Huo Yingjie said guiltily. "I know you like Nan City. Going to Yanjing means starting over in a strange place."
"It’s okay, wherever you are is our home," He Tiantian said. "Besides, my father-in-law will sooner or later be transferred to Yanjing. By then, we’ll still need to shift our focus there. It’s just happening a bit earlier than planned. It’s not really strange, and Xiao Yan is there too."
Wherever he was, that was her home.
Caught off guard, He Tiantian poured a jar of honey into his heart, sweetly lingering in his mouth and not dissolving.
"Yeah, I’ll try to make more time to be with you in the future," Huo Yingjie said. "By the way, no need to wait for the weekend, I’ll take you swimming today."
He Tiantian’s eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Of course," Huo Yingjie replied. "Wait a little bit and I’ll take you."
"Great!" He Tiantian was thrilled. When Huo Yingjie wasn’t around, she didn’t dare go swimming alone, so she could only soak in a big wooden tub at home to alleviate her craving for the water.
When Huo Yingjie could come home on weekends, he would take He Tiantian out swimming at night.
The local swimming pool was crowded, like dumplings in a pot. He Tiantian wasn’t pleased to squeeze in with so many people.
Once in Yanjing, she was determined to build a swimming pool, a huge swimming pool.
Huo Yingjie wasn’t in a hurry to report to his new job; he decided to spend a week at home, to spend time with his family before leaving.
After dropping He Tiantian off at school, Huo Yingjie went to the post office to send a telegram to Huashan and Niu Dajun, asking them to help tidy up the house. After that, he started his life as a home-cook.
Every morning, a tall and handsome man would be seen strolling to the market with a big bamboo basket, buying groceries.
Even though Huo Yingjie didn’t haggle, the depth of his eyes alone compelled the vendors to offer him reasonable prices and even throw in some extra scallions, ginger, and garlic free of charge as he left.
Back home, Zhang Aijun helped with the cooking, and Huo Yingjie learned a lot from him.
Every noon, without fail, Huo Yingjie delivered lovingly prepared lunches to his mother and wife.
"Hey, Teacher He, didn’t your partner only deliver on Saturdays?" Mi Wei said enviously. "Why is he delivering on weekdays too? Doesn’t he have to work?"
Sipping rose tea, He Tiantian smiled and said, "He’s transferring jobs and has taken a few days off. He’ll be reporting to his new position in a few days."
"Where is he being transferred to?" asked Mi Wei. "Teacher He, are you going with him? If not, won’t you have to live apart?"
Hearing the conversation, Teacher Wu chimed in, "Exactly, Teacher He. It’s not good for a young couple to live apart; it can lead to problems."
Having learned from her experience, Teacher Wu made some changes. Now, even though the affection with her husband hadn’t returned to its former state, they were able to coexist peacefully, caring for each other, rather than having cold wars as before.
Moreover, Teacher Wu found He Tiantian to be a genuinely nice person. Some things, even if she wanted to be envious, she couldn’t compete with, so she let go, and now the relationship among the three female teachers in the office was much more harmonious than before.
As for Mi Wei, who was newly married, she also made some changes, and her marital relationship was good!
"He’s transferred to Yanjing," said He Tiantian, her face beaming with a smile.
"Yanjing, that’s quite far," Mi Wei commented. "Are you moving there too?"
He Tiantian just smiled and said, "I’m not transferring. After this semester ends, I’ll resign and go to Yanjing with my husband. I want to review thoroughly and prepare to continue my studies."
"Teacher He, that’s good for you," said Teacher Wu. "Your family isn’t short on money. It’s beneficial to read more. Besides, it will be more relaxed to study as a postgraduate student. After you graduate, you could even become a teacher at the university."
"Actually, with your qualifications, you could transfer to a university in Yanjing without furthering your education," Mi Wei pointed out.
"Hehe, we’ll see when the time comes," He Tiantian replied. Even if she didn’t continue her studies, she had a business to look after and wouldn’t be idle.
Agreeing, Mi Wei nodded and said, "You’re someone with strong planning skills, so I won’t say much. But make sure you don’t forget about us and write often!"
"Of course," He Tiantian responded. "I’m just concerned that you’ll be too busy to reply to me."
"Haha, that won’t happen," Mi Wei exaggeratedly remarked. Being the joker she was and having a close rapport with He Tiantian, her words were harmless. "Just for the sake of the delicious things you mail us, I will surely respond with an affectionate letter."
"I will definitely send things to you," He Tiantian promised. They were colleagues with whom she got along well; naturally, she didn’t want to lose touch if the relationship could continue.
Overhearing their conversation, Teacher Chen said, "Ah, our school is losing another good teacher."
"Teacher Chen is too kind," He Tiantian said modestly, not daring to accept such praise.
"I’m not praising you; I’m stating a fact," Teacher Chen insisted. "Whether it’s test scores or the atmosphere for learning and creativity, yours is the best. This year alone, twenty people from your class had their articles published. That has a lot to do with you. I went to a meeting this morning where your efforts were particularly commended by the school."
He Tiantian humbly replied, "Hehe, it’s all due to the students’ hard work. I just provided some guidance."
Teacher Chen lamented, "Proper guidance from a university teacher often matters more than just teaching them knowledge. Through guidance, students can tap into their potential, innovate, and learn on their own."
Teacher Wu and Mi Wei both looked on with envy.
With a smile, Mi Wei said, "Teacher Chen, don’t be envious. Having taught an excellent teacher is much more significant than just teaching an excellent student. You’re amazing too."
"Haha!" Teacher Chen laughed heartily. "You’re right, I taught a good teacher."
He Tiantian was indeed a student under Teacher Chen for three years, and not only was she the best student, but she also became an outstanding teacher.
