Chapter 760: Chapter 729: Treatment, Peace of Mind_1

He Tiantian was very happy. If she could trust an accountant to help her with the books, she could relax a lot more.

"That’s fine, I’ve been wanting to hire an accountant anyway. Mom, if you think she is trustworthy, go ahead and introduce her," He Tiantian said, "Tomorrow afternoon, I happen to be free from classes, so she can come to our house. We can meet and discuss the compensation and work hours."

"Good, I’ll talk to her tomorrow," Jiang Lifang replied, "She’s just about to retire at the end of this month, so I guess she could start working then. By the way, what’s the compensation for the accountant? I should let her know in advance, so there won’t be any disappointment later if she finds the pay too low, which could make things awkward for everyone involved. After all, that accountant really needs a salary for her family."

Being colleagues for over twenty years, Jiang Lifang didn’t want to create any uncomfortable situations over money.

"The staff at my shop get about 220 yuan a month, including bonuses and salary. Since she’s new, and also a friend of yours, the base salary could be 200 yuan, and with bonuses, I guess it could be around 240 yuan," He Tiantian responded. An experienced accountant would save her some worries and now that they have to pay taxes, there are many things that were overwhelming for He Tiantian.

"240 yuan?" Jiang Lifang was surprised, "My goodness, that’s even more than I make! I only get 180 yuan."

He Tiantian chuckled and said, "In many people’s eyes, your job is a steady ’iron rice bowl’, respected by others. Those of us in business are looked down upon, so a higher salary compensates for the wounded souls."

"Hehe, ah, if it wasn’t for the fact that I can’t be of help, I would really like to work in your shop," Jiang Lifang joked, "It seems like the shop makes good money, so don’t wear yourself out. Train some more talent, and you could relax a bit."

He Tiantian nodded, "Yes, that’s what I was thinking. Now that I’ll have an accountant, I’ll recruit a cashier from somewhere else. That way, there’s mutual restraint, and I can check the accounts anytime, which should prevent any issues."

"Indeed, some people get lost when faced with money. Only proper supervision can prevent some from harboring ill thoughts," Jiang Lifang spoke softly, not wanting her daughter-in-law to be deceived by the staff.

"I’ll remember that," He Tiantian said, "If there’s anybody suitable on your side, you can introduce them too."

"There isn’t anyone else from my end," Jiang Lifang said, "You handle it as you deem fit."

The next afternoon, when Jiang Lifang was off duty, she brought Accountant Liang back home with her.

Accountant Liang was a woman in her fifties, perhaps due to an unsatisfactory life, she looked much older than Jiang Lifang.

"Oh my, is this your daughter-in-law?" Accountant Liang commented with a laugh, examining He Tiantian from top to bottom, "Last time Director Wang said he met your daughter-in-law, the one who brought you lunch, he kept praising her in front of me. Now that I see her, she truly lives up to the reputation!"

"Aunt Liang, you flatter me, please come in and sit," He Tiantian said, ushering Jiang Lifang and Accountant Liang into the house and promptly serving them tea.

After both guests were seated, He Tiantian brought over some refreshments.

"Tiantian, I’ll take care of the kids. You and Aunt Liang talk about work," Jiang Lifang excused herself from the conversation, finding it more appropriate to let them discuss on their own.

"Sure!" He Tiantian laughed, watching her mother-in-law leave.

Accountant Liang chuckled and said, "I’ve already told your mother-in-law about my situation, and I guess she has told you too, so I won’t repeat myself. I have a pension, but it’s not much, so I thought about finding a job to supplement the family income. Whatever compensation you offer is fine."

He Tiantian also laughed, "Aunt Liang is too modest. Compensation can’t be arbitrary. I have over thirty people in my shop! If it’s disorganized, it will affect the morale of the employees."

"Hehe, that’s true," Accountant Liang chuckled.

"Aunt Liang, how about this? After you join us, we’ll give you a salary of 200 yuan a month, and you’ll get some bonus at the end of the month as well. If you agree, you can start after retirement. Then we’ll sign a contract, how does that sound?" He Tiantian smiled, eager for Accountant Liang to start working soon.

Accountant Liang was taken aback, not expecting a salary of 200 yuan. Before, when Jiang Lifang mentioned it, she didn’t believe it, thinking it was a joke.

Her retirement pay was only 80 yuan, barely enough to cover basic living expenses, which left her no choice but to find work.

With a monthly salary of 200 yuan, plus her pension, that would make 280 yuan, and with the bonus, it could possibly reach 300 yuan.

"Isn’t this salary a bit too high? You’re not just offering this because of your mother-in-law’s face, are you?" Accountant Liang, being an honest person, felt that her work didn’t warrant such a high pay.

He Tiantian chuckled and replied, "Because it’s through my mother-in-law’s introduction, I trust in Aunt Liang’s character. Please don’t overthink it. Other staff members also earn quite well, and the workload is considerable, so we’ll be relying on Aunt Liang’s hard work."

Upon hearing this, Accountant Liang felt reassured and even happier, nodding, "I will work hard in the future."

"Thank you very much, Aunt Liang," He Tiantian expressed her gratitude. While they were on personal terms, she intended to ensure that responsibilities and obligations were specified in the contract.

Afterward, He Tiantian let her mother-in-law chat with Accountant Liang while she went to cook, inviting Accountant Liang to stay for dinner.

After Accountant Liang left, Jiang Lifang inquired, "Aunt Liang is alright, isn’t she?"

"She’s a seasoned accountant; her professional skills are beyond doubt," He Tiantian said, "She was even concerned that the salary was too high! She’s a genuine person!"

"Hehe, I told her about the 200 yuan salary, and she didn’t believe me," Jiang Lifang said, "With this money, her family’s life will be much easier, and you can relieve some stress too."

"Exactly," He Tiantian laughed, "I wish Aunt Liang could start working tomorrow!"

The accounts for both shops had grown substantially more complicated than before, consuming significant time and effort from He Tiantian due to various expenses and tax matters.

"Hehe, you’ll need to work hard for a while longer," Jiang Lifang said, "As long as you can trust the people, you’ll feel more at ease."

She just needed to hold on for ten more days.

Amidst He Tiantian’s busyness, Qi Zhengmin sent a telegram informing her that she, her brother, grandma, and Grandpa Qi would be arriving in Nan City by train on the twenty-third day.

Having experienced this the previous year, He Tiantian wasn’t surprised and had prepared the guest room in advance. She also asked Secretary Guo to pick them up from the train station at 7 pm on the twenty-fourth.

He Tiantian couldn’t go herself because the jeep, along with the driver, could barely fit five people. If He Tiantian went, there wouldn’t be enough space in the car.

When Secretary Guo came to pick them up, he explained the situation on behalf of He Tiantian.

Once at home, Third Grandma Qi stayed in her parents’ room, while Qi Zhengmin and Qi Zhenghan stayed in the guest room of the winged house.
