Chapter 753: Chapter 722: Human Traffickers, Rescue 1

Huo Yingjie and Grandma Wang looked at each other.

Grandma Wang squinted her eyes, grieving the loss of her husband and a life without children of her own, though she was particularly fond of them. She was furious to hear someone mistreating a child.

"This child might not be theirs, could be a kidnapped or a trafficked child," Grandma Wang said. "Yingjie, go take a look, and if something seems off, report it to the police. The next station is Nan City; we should nab them first for questioning. If it’s a misunderstanding, we’ll reimburse their train fare; but if they’re truly bad people, we’re doing a good deed."

"Okay, I’ll go check it out now," Huo Yingjie was about to leave but was stopped by Grandma Wang.

"Wait!" Grandma Wang halted him. "After you get off the train and hand those two over to the police station, come back. Tiantian and I will take the child off the train without problem."

"Grandma Wang, are you worried those people might seek revenge on us?" Huo Yingjie asked in return, thinking Grandma Wang was overreacting.

Grandma Wang nodded, "Those people may be nothing compared to the Huo Family; however, it’s not the theft I fear, but the thief’s persistence. It’s good to do the right thing, but we can’t entangle our family members. Especially as we also have children in our family."

He Tiantian agreed wholeheartedly and said, "Brother Yingjie, let’s do as Grandma Wang suggested! You handle this matter. There’s not much to carry; I can manage it. Grandma Wang will lead the child, and Secretary Guo will meet us at the station anyhow."

"Mm, okay, stay safe," Huo Yingjie nodded. Unbeknownst to others, he set up a protective charm to allow He Tiantian and the child to come out of the small compartment, but no one besides Yingjie could enter.

Huo Yingjie checked his watch; there were only forty minutes left until they reached the station, so he had to act quickly.

Though capable, Yingjie knew he couldn’t always be by He Tiantian and the child, so it was better to be cautious.

Thus, after Huo Yingjie exited the small compartment, he slightly altered his appearance, disguised as another person with changed clothes.

However, no one noticed the change; it was as if Huo Yingjie never existed.

Huo Yingjie quickly came to the compartment He Tiantian mentioned and directly accessed the memories of the two people inside.

Upon examining, his concern was confirmed!

Damn, they truly were human traffickers heading to Guangzhou!

There were three boys and one girl.

The three boys were to be sold to those who longed for sons but couldn’t have them; the girl, unlucky for her good looks and being in the wrong place, was swept up by the traffickers on a whim.

Becoming a father himself, Huo Yingjie couldn’t bear any harm coming to children, whether they were his own or not.

Inside the bearded man’s pocket, there was a knife.

Huo Yingjie could overpower the man, but it wasn’t something he could explain away publicly, so he decided to find an attendant or the train conductor instead.

The train attendant, a woman in her forties, became very anxious upon hearing the situation.

"I will check on it, please wait," the attendant said. Then, wearing gloves and pretending to be cleaning, she probed without drawing attention to herself.

Shortly after, the attendant returned with a troubled expression.

"Is it strange as expected?" Huo Yingjie asked. "We’re almost at Nan City. If you don’t act now, these people might get off there or somewhere else, and then you won’t be able to find them again. That’s four children we’re talking about!"

"Right, even if we’re wrong, we need to report it and get to the bottom of this," the attendant hurried to inform their leader.

To avoid alerting the suspects, the train conductor gathered five police officers, preparing to surround the dubious pair.

"Don’t forget, the children are in their hands. If they threaten us with the children, it could get messy," Huo Yingjie reminded. "Capturing the traffickers is one thing, but protecting the children is of paramount importance."

"Yes, this kind-hearted comrade is right," the conductor agreed. "We must ensure the safety of the children."

"We’ll be careful," the five officers nodded, discussing strategies, though they were at a loss for a good solution.

Huo Yingjie thought for a moment, then pulled a little trick causing the bearded man’s stomach to ache, needing to immediately rush to the toilet.

In this way, the bearded man would leave his seat, stopping the man first, and then the woman would be easy to deal with.

"Hide, I see the man coming over, he might want to use the bathroom," Huo Yingjie warned, seeing an excellent opportunity.

Everyone’s eyes lit up, and they all crouched down.

The bearded man, bothered by stomach trouble, only thought about getting into the toilet quickly.

At that moment there was someone in the toilet, and the man was quite anxious.

As soon as the toilet door opened, the man dragged out the person inside and went in himself.

Because he was in a hurry, this man even forgot to close the door, and a foul smell wafted out from the crack.

The nearby undercover cops, hiding close by, were dizzy and nauseated by the stench.

However, they had not forgotten their duty, and as soon as the man came out after relieving himself, they immediately surrounded him and caught him.

"What do you think you’re doing?" the bearded man was very angry, "How can you arrest people indiscriminately?"

But the three undercover cops didn’t give the man a chance to explain and directly handcuffed him.

"Keep your voice down, you look suspicious, we’ll talk about it at the police station," an undercover cop said sternly, "If we’ve wronged you, I will apologize."

Upon hearing this, the man’s face changed and he looked in the direction of his seat.

Two other undercover cops and a female train attendant had already walked over.

The woman got a fright when she suddenly saw the police, and held the child closely, sitting further back in.

Because she used too much force, the child in her arms rolled his eyes and struggled to breathe.

Seeing this, the two undercover cops couldn’t delay any longer; otherwise, the child might be strangled to death.

"You police are robbing, kidnapping children!" the woman shouted louder, shrinking further back.

The two undercover cops quickly subdued the woman in her thirties, and the female train attendant took the child, who was almost suffocating, his little face turning red.

The remaining three, two still asleep, one awake but huddled in a corner.

A man and a woman, caught and locked up together.

The female train attendant soothed the child and looked toward the child hiding in the corner, about five years old, eyes full of terror.

"Child, was that woman just now your mommy?" the female train attendant asked gently.

Although the little boy was terrified, he stared and shook his head.

"Then, do you know them?" The female train attendant was taken aback, they really were child traffickers.

The little boy shook his head again.

"Did they hit you?"

The little boy nodded.

"Do you remember your parents’ names?"

"I do!" the little boy finally spoke, "My dad is Zhao Dahai, my mom Zhang Xiaofen."
