Chapter 666: Chapter 635: Getting a Grip _1
Little Zheng knew that Wang Bing would never have anything to do with Huang Mao, and she certainly wouldn’t fancy those gangsters.
As long as Wang Bing had not willingly been with another man, Little Zheng would try to forgive her.
"Then wait for my news," Little Zheng finished speaking and left the dormitory.
Wang Bing didn’t leave either; exhausted, she fell asleep there. At noon, when Wang Bing woke up, she saw ingredients in the kitchen and cooked a meal for Little Zheng.
After Little Zheng returned and saw that Wang Bing had cooked for him, his heart warmed at the sight of such a beautiful woman.
After eating, Wang Bing and Little Zheng agreed to meet again the next day.
That evening, Little Zheng went back and begged his father for help.
Little Zheng’s father slapped him twice and scolded, "If you don’t want your dad to end up behind bars as well, you’ll keep helping that woman!"
"Dad, is there really no other way?" Little Zheng, covering his face, asked tentatively.
"No way!" his father rebuked, "That woman only comes to you when she’s in trouble; she doesn’t really like you. You must stop seeing her to avoid any trouble she might cause."
"Dad..." Little Zheng was torn; he had just gotten Wang Bing and felt reluctant to let her go.
"You spineless wretch, as long as we have power and influence, what kind of woman can you not have!" Old Zheng berated, "If I end up in jail, with your uselessness, you’ll end up begging on the streets. Do you think then Wang Bing, who looks down on everyone, will stick with you?"
Little Zheng wasn’t stupid; he knew his father was right.
"But..." Little Zheng hesitated.
"There are no ’buts’. A fallen phoenix is nothing more than a chicken. Now that Wang Bing’s father is done for, she might stoop to you. If her father were fine, would she still listen to you?" Old Zheng said, "Don’t do anything. Once the Wang family has no background, she’ll be at your beck and call!"
After considering his father’s words carefully, Little Zheng found them sensible and finally nodded, saying, "Dad, you’re right. Even when our family was much better than Wang Bing’s, she wouldn’t look at me. Now that her family is in trouble, she turns to me. To keep her by my side, I can’t let her father off unscathed."
"Exactly," Old Zheng said with satisfaction, "You can’t be controlled by a woman; you have to be in control to live comfortably."
Little Zheng nodded, having learned a lot from his father.
When Wang Bing came again, Little Zheng said his father had already made the necessary arrangements.
Heh, only these arrangements weren’t to get Wang Bing’s father out of prison, but rather to make his situation worse, possibly extending his stay by several years.
Seeing Little Zheng’s dedication, Wang Bing served him even more attentively.
However, a week later, Wang Bing’s father was convicted and sentenced to twelve years.
Only then did Wang Bing realize she had been deceived by Little Zheng.
"Didn’t you say you were going to save my father?" Wang Bing questioned, unable to rely on men.
Little Zheng frowned, impatiently replying, "I did have my father intercede, and he likes you a lot, so he agreed to help. But there are people above us; my father has done his best. Otherwise, it would have been a fifteen-year sentence, not twelve."
With her father sentenced and everything gone, no longer able to protect her, what difference did it make between fifteen years and twelve years!
"I hate you," Wang Bing said and tried to leave.
Little Zheng grabbed Wang Bing’s arm and threatened, "If you leave here, I will go public with your rape incident."
To keep Wang Bing, Little Zheng resorted to threats.
Wang Bing stiffened and demanded, "What do you mean by this?"
"Haha, there’s no hidden meaning, just pointing out a clear path for you. First, become my woman; second, let others keep gossiping about you," Little Zheng spoke softly, though in truth, he didn’t wish for this.
But he liked this woman.
Previously, it was her face that he liked, but now he wanted her body too.
"You... you are despicable and shameless," Wang Bing cursed, blaming him for not helping her, and now he actually wanted to marry her.
"You’re promiscuous; we’re a perfect match," Little Zheng said, "but if you’re not willing, I won’t force you."
Wang Bing lowered her head, weighing the pros and cons.
With Little Zheng’s father around, at the very least she could live a comfortable life.
Without her father, she needed to seek out a stable support. Little Zheng liked her; she could feel it, perhaps this was a good option.
"I will consider it." Having said that, Wang Bing went home.
Wang Bing’s mother, Cai Ying, was in extreme pain and kept crying.
Wang Bing, annoyed by the constant crying, scolded, "Stop crying. Dad has already been sentenced; it’s all over now, no matter what we say."
"What... what do we do now?" Cai Ying, thinking of the odd looks from the people in the office, felt terribly uncomfortable.
Wang Bing looked up, held her mother’s hand, and said, "Little Zheng proposed to me today."
"Little Zheng?" Cai Ying was stunned.
"Yes!" Wang Bing nodded. "That’s him."
"Could it be that the Zheng family caused your father’s trouble this time?" Cai Ying’s first reaction was that the Zheng family had retaliated in anger because the Wang Family had not agreed to the marriage proposal.
Having already decided to marry Little Zheng, she couldn’t let her mother harbor such suspicions.
"Mom, if we didn’t ask Little Zheng for help, dad would’ve been sentenced to fifteen years instead of twelve," Wang Bing said. "If we want to continue living with dignity, then I have no choice but to marry Little Zheng."
Cai Ying thought for a moment, then reluctantly nodded and said, "Sigh, it has to be this way. It’s rare for Little Zheng to not disdain our family in these troubled times. I’ll arrange your marriage once this blows over."
What’s the use of being upset over her husband’s troubles!
Her husband was still going to prison!
Forget it, her husband wasn’t reliable; from now on, she could only rely on her daughter.
Huo Yingjie, upon receiving the news, laughed spitefully.
This Wang Bing thought she could lay low and wait for her chance, but that would depend on whether she’d even have the opportunity!
Huo Yingjie planned to torment Wang Bing bit by bit.
Just as Wang Bing and Little Zheng were discussing their marriage, Huang Mao came looking for Wang Bing with photos in hand.
"I’m short on cash lately, my future Mrs. Zheng, you’ve gotta pity me!" Huang Mao was nothing more than a hoodlum, now sticking to Wang Bing like a stubborn plaster.
Wang Bing frowned and said, "You raped me, and I didn’t sue you, yet you’re coming after me. If you don’t want to end up in jail, get lost."
Huang Mao laughed, "Don’t scare me; I get so frightened easily. You’re nothing but a washed-up flower; where’s the arrogance coming from! If I send these photos to your future in-laws, do you think they’ll still allow you in their family!"
"What photos?" Wang Bing reached out to grab them.
Huang Mao didn’t dodge, allowing Wang Bing to snatch the photos.
