Chapter 594: Chapter 563 Birth, Balance_1

Twenty years ago, her parents had given her all their love.

She had grown up, married, and had her own family, and was about to leave her parents. She couldn’t stay by her mom and dad’s side anymore.

This little brother arrived like an angel, and he would be there to accompany mom and dad in the future, ensuring they wouldn’t be lonely.

What’s more, he could inherit Grandmother’s business. He Tiantian knew that she wasn’t good at those things nor did she want to take on those responsibilities; she just wanted to live her simple life.

"Can I see him?" Wang Shuping’s eyes reddened. Although exhausted, she had not fainted and wanted to catch a glimpse of her son.

Over there, Wang Shuilian had cleaned the child and wrapped him in swaddling clothes before handing him to He Tiantian.

"Thank you!" At this moment, He Tiantian was very grateful to Wang Shuilian.

"No need for thanks." Wang Shuilian smiled, happy that everything had gone smoothly.

Wang Shuilian then helped clean up the remaining things, putting them all in a small clay jar to the side, saying, "It’s all here, I didn’t take anything!"

Third Grandma Qi entered, handed over ten yuan, and said, "Doctor Wang, thank you for this time. It’s dark and we weren’t prepared; here’s the delivery fee for now, these ten yuan are for you. I’ll boil some eggs and bring them over tomorrow."

Wang Shuilian washed her hands with soap, accepted the ten yuan, then took out five from her pocket and said, "Third Aunt, five yuan is enough, no need for so much."

Third Grandma Qi wasn’t shy about it and nodded, saying, "Then I’ll keep it and bring you some extra gifts tomorrow. Dazhu, escort Doctor Wang home, light a torch, don’t let her stumble."

"Right, Third Aunt, rest assured, I’ll make sure Doctor Wang gets home safely." Secretary Qi said, "Doctor Wang, please."

Wang Shuping finally felt at ease after seeing the child.

He Tiantian handed the child to Liang Hongyu and said, "Aunt Liang, could you hold my brother for me? I’ll first carry my mom back to the room."

He Tiantian changed her mother into clean clothes, put the finest sanitary paper under her, covered her mother’s entire body and head with a blanket, and carried her directly to the bedroom.

Being strong was a good thing; she didn’t need to ask for help.

Huo Yingjie stood to the side, speechless. She had forgotten about her husband—who could have done that for her.

"Mom, get some rest, and call me if you need anything," He Tiantian whispered softly, comforting her mother.

Wang Shuping nodded and said, "Then I’ll sleep."

She was far too exhausted.

By the time Wang Shuping fell asleep, He Jingyu and Zhao Dajiao arrived with the midwife, only to find that the child had already been born.

Third Grandma Qi didn’t let them walk away empty-handed and wanted to give them five yuan.

Zhao Dajiao’s sister wouldn’t accept it no matter what and went back to rest with her sister.

"How is mom doing?" He Jingyu asked with concern. He had been so anxious on the way he could barely take it.

"Mom is fine, just exhausted; she’s sleeping now," He Tiantian said with a smile. "Dad, look, Mom delivered a little brother who cried so loudly just now, a sure sign of a healthy baby."

He Jingyu was startled and said, "A son, huh?"

"Aren’t you happy? There are so many who wish for a son and can’t have one," He Tiantian laughed. "Look, does he resemble me?"

"Heh, happy, very happy," He Jingyu smiled. "If Yingjie ever bullies you, you let your little brother stand up for you!"

Huo Yingjie, listening from the next room, raised an eyebrow.

That little brat was so small and it would take more than twenty years before he grew up!

And what of it even if he did grow up?

He Tiantian laughed and said, "Dad, that’s right. I’ve always been lacking ambition. Grandmother was always worried about who would inherit the family business, but now that I have a brother, she will be very happy."

Worried about his daughter’s feelings, He Jingyu hastily added, "Your grandmother said, whether it’s a boy or girl, your inheritance won’t be a penny less."

"Haha, alright!" He Tiantian agreed.

She was very content with her current life and didn’t care about those things.

As for money, enough to spend was all that mattered!

Since her rebirth, she hadn’t let herself be wronged.

He Jingyu took the child with practiced ease.

Third Grandma Qi asked with a smile, "Jingyu, did you used to hold babies often? You look quite adept at it."

"When Shuping gave birth to Tiantian, she hurt herself and couldn’t take care of the baby, so I did all that," He Jingyu said. "I know how to take care of children! Step-grandma, Tiantian, you both go rest, I’ll stay here. You need to be well-rested so you can take over for me tomorrow."

Seeing that He Jingyu was so happy and likely couldn’t sleep for a while, they decided to let him enjoy the moment and they would go to bed first.

He Tiantian escorted Third Grandma Qi to her room first, noticing that the bed had grown cold. She fetched two hot water bottles, one for grandma and one for Grandpa Qi.

After making sure the elders were settled, He Tiantian followed Huo Yingjie back to their room.

He Tiantian was in high spirits and said with a smile, "Our Brother Yingjie has worked hard."

"No need to thank me," Huo Yingjie smiled, holding He Tiantian in his arms as they lay down in bed.

The next morning, with something on her mind, He Tiantian woke up early and boiled nearly fifty eggs.

She first delivered twenty to Zhao Dajiao’s sister, then prepared a gift for Wang Shuilian, a whole basketful including twenty boiled eggs, two packages of White Rabbit Creamy Candy, and two pounds of pastries brought from Nan City.

He Jingyu had not slept at night, and with people coming over to congratulate him, he was too elated to feel sleepy during the day.

Having brought great benefits to Qijia Village, the villagers respected He Jingyu and Wang Shuping deeply, bringing their best produce to their home. No one who brought eggs brought fewer than ten, and some even sent cured meats prepared for the new year.

In the afternoon, with less company at home, He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie finally had the chance to visit Hujia Village to deliver the gift to Wang Shuilian.

Wang Shuilian was just in the yard, drying medicinal herbs. Seeing He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie coming, she welcomed them inside.

"Thank you, Doctor Wang," He Tiantian said. "This is our thank-you gift, and we’ll invite you over for a meal when my brother’s full month celebration comes."

"Well, then I won’t be polite," Wang Shuilian responded cheerfully, taking the items out of the basket.

The two families had their differences, but the cooperative effort of the previous night’s delivery had brought a delicate balance, at least for the moment.
