Chapter 513: Chapter 484: Disgusted, Obstinate Ignorance_1
Soon after, the nanny brought up hot water and poured it into the bathtub in the bathroom.
"Thank you," He Tiantian said with a smile, expressing her gratitude to the two people who helped carry the water.
"Miss He, please don’t be polite," the nanny replied with a smile. "The hot water is ready, Miss He, please go ahead and wash up. Once finished, just pull the plug, and the water will drain automatically."
"Okay, I’ve got it, thank you for your efforts," He Tiantian said politely, very courteously.
He Tiantian showed appreciation to those who provided her with services.
After the two had left, they looked at each other and hurried to report to Old Madam Huo that the second young master’s fiancée was a good girl.
He Tiantian quickly took a bath and felt much more relaxed. She packed her luggage, then dressed in a shirt, blue pants, and a pair of sneakers.
Although there were nice clothes in the package, Huo Yingjie had not woken up yet, so He Tiantian couldn’t dress too extravagantly.
However, once Brother Yingjie woke up, she could wear them for Brother Yingjie to see.
Even though He Tiantian was tired, she couldn’t sleep. After changing clothes and letting her hair down, she grabbed her bag and prepared to go to the hospital.
Seeing that He Tiantian had not rested, Old Madam Huo quickly asked, "Tiantian, why aren’t you resting? Are you dissatisfied with the room?"
"Not at all, grandma," He Tiantian shook her head. "I’m very satisfied with the room. I’m just worried that Brother Yingjie won’t be able to sleep. I want to go and see him."
"Oh, you’re so thoughtful," said Old Madam Huo. "Alright, I’ll have a bodyguard take you there. Be sure to come back to rest at night!"
Huo Yingqi was also in the living room and saw He Tiantian, her expression darkening instantly.
This woman had actually entered their family home. This was her home, and she did not want to see He Tiantian here.
But considering that her grandparents treated He Tiantian very kindly, even kinder than they treated her, Huo Yingqi was angry but dared not say more, quickly adjusting her expression to hide her true thoughts from others.
However, she didn’t realize that, being young, she could control her expressions, but not her eyes.
Huo Yingqi’s dissatisfaction was noticed by Old Master Huo and Huo Zhekun.
Fortunately, He Jingyu was not there, or else it might have led He Jingyu to think too much and grow discontent.
After greeting everyone, He Tiantian followed the security officer to the hospital.
Not wanting to stay at home, Huo Zhekun went to pick up his wife to rest, planning to look after his son in the evening.
Seeing his second son leave, Old Master Huo looked at Huo Yingqi and slowly said, "Yingqi, haven’t you learned anything from the lessons of the past?"
Huo Yingqi was startled, and quickly replied with a smile, "Grandpa, I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t side with outsiders and hurt my own family."
Old Master Huo stared at Huo Yingqi for a long while before he said, "I hope you remember what you’ve just said and don’t let me down!"
"I will remember, Grandpa," Huo Yingqi said. She did not want to go to that difficult place again; she wanted to stay in Yanjing.
If she upset her grandparents again, she reckoned even her mother might not be able to help.
Old Master Huo nodded, then stood up and went upstairs.
Old Madam Huo glanced at Huo Yingqi, deeply disappointed, and leaned on the old master as they went upstairs to rest.
Only Huo Yingqi remained in the living room, sitting there alone.
Song Chunli came in from outside, saw her daughter sitting dumbfounded on the chair, and asked, "Yingqi, why are you sitting here alone? Where are your grandfather and grandmother?"
Huo Yingqi’s voice was hoarse as she forced a bitter smile, "Grandpa, grandma have gone back to their room."
After speaking, Huo Yingqi covered her face and fell silent.
"Yingqi, what exactly is wrong?" Song Chunli asked as she quickly walked over to her daughter’s side.
"I feel like grandpa and grandma don’t like me anymore," Huo Yingqi choked out, reasoning that, as the youngest in the family and the only girl, she should be the most doted upon.
Song Chunli’s heart ached for her daughter and, with her husband’s occasional reminders, she understood the thoughts of her father-in-law and mother-in-law.
In this home, the ones who made the decisions were still Old Master Huo and the Old Madam.
"Do you remember when your grandfather and grandmother’s attitude started to change?" Song Chunli asked. Her daughter’s past actions had indeed been wrong. Although she had changed now, deep down she hadn’t come to terms with it.
Huo Yingqi was startled, thought for a moment, and said, "It seems to have started in ’71, when my second brother came back, mentioning he had a partner, and Yuanyuan was very upset, I..."
"You just took it upon yourself to help Zhou Yuanyuan, without considering your second brother’s feelings?" Seeing her daughter hesitant to continue, Song Chunli helped her finish.
Huo Yingqi nodded painfully, acknowledging that her second brother used to be quite fond of her.
But ever since he got involved with someone, he stopped caring about his little sister.
"You know that what your grandfather and grandmother hate the most is when someone from our own family harms their own," Song Chunli said, "By doing that, you hurt your second brother, you brought trouble upon him. And that Zhou Yuanyuan, she used you, and you were unaware. We tried to warn you, but you refused to see reason, and you did what you did. Have you still not realized your mistakes after seeing your grandfather and grandmother’s changed attitude toward you?"
After hearing this, Huo Yingqi’s face turned somewhat pale.
"Mom, I was actually just feeling sorry for Yuanyuan, after all, we grew up together," Huo Yingqi said, attempting to defend herself.
"You grew up with Zhou Yuanyuan, but what about your second brother, your cousin brother? Besides your elder brother, it’s your second brother," Song Chunli got even angrier upon hearing her daughter’s words, exasperated at being unable to get through to her!
"But..." Huo Yingqi stuttered.
"But what? Zhou Yuanyuan is not as innocent as she appears to be. The Zhou Family almost brought our Huo Family to ruin last time. You being able to sit here and talk safely is luck. If you can’t discern friend from foe in the future, you won’t even know how you died," Song Chunli said sternly. She didn’t understand what was so good about that Zhou Yuanyuan, who had fed her daughter so much nonsense, yet, even now, her daughter still spoke in her defense.
Seeing that her mother was also angry, Huo Yingqi lowered her head and whispered, "I’m sorry, Mom, I know I was wrong, and I’ll remember what you said."
Compared to her good friend Zhou Yuanyuan, Huo Yingqi believed that He Tiantian was the one who was two-faced.
After all, it was her own daughter. Song Chunli had spoken harshly, but since her daughter had admitted her fault, she couldn’t keep scolding and said, "I know you have a knot in your heart, but you also know that He Tiantian is your second brother’s fiancée and part of the family. You can’t act like that in the future. Let the past be the past and don’t dwell on it."
"Yes, I know, we are a family," Huo Yingqi said, "Mom, don’t worry, I won’t do such things again."
"Good, as long as you remember," Song Chunli said, "You’re not getting any younger. Now that you’re back, I’ve arranged for you to work at the hospital. In a while, I’ll start looking into arranging a marriage for you. Once you’re married, you won’t have so much to think about."
"Mom, I want to spend a few more years with you," Huo Yingqi said with a blush, feeling somewhat embarrassed as her mother spoke of marriage matters.
"You’re not that young anymore, you’re already twenty-three," Song Chunli said with a sigh, "By the way, do you have someone you fancy in mind? If you do, share it, so your dad and I can see if he would be suitable."
