Chapter 512: Chapter 483: Suffering, Shyness, Heartache_1

Watching the nurse’s somewhat panicked footsteps, Zhao Huanhuan frowned.

After checking Huo Yingjie’s blood pressure and pulse, which had improved from before, Zhao Huanhuan recorded the results and then spoke with He Tiantian.

"Tiantian, are you tired?" Zhao Huanhuan asked, "If you are, you can go to my dorm to sleep for a bit."

He Tiantian shook her head and said, "I’m not tired! Sister-in-law, you don’t need to worry about me."

"Alright then, if you need anything, you can come and find me," Zhao Huanhuan said, "I have more work to do, so I’ll be leaving first."

"Thank you, Sister-in-law," He Tiantian replied politely, feeling very grateful to Zhao Huanhuan for her help the past few days.

After Zhao Huanhuan left, He Tiantian closed the hospital room door, bolted it, and then began to wipe down Huo Yingjie’s body.

He Tiantian carefully wiped Huo Yingjie’s face, neck, arms, back, and chest. It was only when she reached his lower body that she hesitated.

How... how should she handle this?

He Tiantian felt somewhat awkward, but she thought that if she didn’t do it, they would have to call that nurse in again.

Her fiancé had already been exposed to people more than once; how much more could she lose?

With this in mind, He Tiantian braced herself and took off Huo Yingjie’s pants.

As Huo Yingjie was in a coma, he had to receive intravenous fluids every morning and evening to maintain the nutrients his body needed.

While the fluids were administered, a urinary catheter also had to be inserted.

At first, He Tiantian felt a bit shy, but seeing Huo Yingjie’s lower body endure such discomfort made her feel very pained.

Compared to this heartache, any shyness had long since been thrown to Java.

He Tiantian carefully cleaned Huo Yingjie, drying him off thoroughly, and then dressed him in a clean hospital gown.

He Tiantian emptied out the water and put away the enamel basin, planning to fill it with warm water tomorrow to wash Huo Yingjie’s face.

He Tiantian took out cosmetics that her grandmother had sent her from her bag, squeezed out some lotion and applied it to Huo Yingjie, and then brushed his hair with a comb. If possible, she wanted to wash his hair tomorrow.

She then searched her bag for nail clippers and trimmed Huo Yingjie’s fingernails and toenails.

When Jiang Lifang arrived, she found He Tiantian sitting by the bed, trimming Huo Yingjie’s toenails.

Oh, these past few days, Jiang Lifang had been in a daze, crying and doing nothing for her son, while it was Tiantian who had been attentive and careful.

No wonder her son liked Tiantian; everything seemed different since she arrived.

"Tiantian, go wash your hands and eat, I’ll finish this," Jiang Lifang said urgently, setting down the lunchbox she was holding.

He Tiantian replied softly, "Aunt Jiang, there’s no need for you to bother, there’s only one nail left, I’ll be done soon."

Seeing He Tiantian insist, Jiang Lifang sat down on a stool, looking tenderly at her son and then at He Tiantian.

They were made for each other!

She hoped her son would wake up; otherwise, such a good girl like Tiantian would miss out on being part of their family.

After He Tiantian finished clipping, she placed Huo Yingjie’s feet back in position, covered him with a thin blanket, and then went to the bathroom to wash her hands.

When He Tiantian came out of the bathroom, Jiang Lifang had already set out the food for her and said, "Tiantian, eat it while it’s hot."

He Tiantian’s stomach was indeed hungry, a sensation she hadn’t felt earlier due to being upset. Now that she knew there was hope for Huo Yingjie to wake up, she finally felt very hungry, but she didn’t feel comfortable going out to buy food, so she had to keep waiting.

Luckily, she didn’t have to wait long before Aunt Jiang brought the food.

Famished, He Tiantian didn’t hold back and had taken several bites before remembering to ask, "Aunt Jiang, have you eaten?"

"I’ve eaten already, you go ahead and eat," said Jiang Lifang, looking at He Tiantian with loving care.

Upon hearing this, He Tiantian began to eat her meal heartily.

She had a big appetite and cleaned up the plate completely, though she was only seventy percent full.

However, this was Yanjing, not Nan City, nor Qijia Village, so He Tiantian was too embarrassed to say she hadn’t had enough to eat.

"Are you full?" Jiang Lifang asked, "If not, I’ll go buy you some more."

"I’m full," He Tiantian said. She felt embarrassed to admit she wasn’t; besides, she had meal tickets and money on her, so she could buy more food later herself.

"That’s good," said Jiang Lifang. "Tiantian, your dad is resting at home, so you should go back and rest too. I’ll be here this afternoon," she said, feeling deeply sorry for He Tiantian. Since receiving the telegram, she had come over immediately, sitting on the train for three days and four nights. She must be very tired.

Thinking over her own need for a shower, as she hadn’t bathed in a long time and was starting to feel itchy, He Tiantian nodded and said, "Aunt Jiang, I’ll go back for a shower and change my clothes. I will take care of Brother Yingjie at night."

"No need for that, come over tomorrow morning," Jiang Lifang said, deciding not to overburden He Tiantian knowing there were so many people at home.

He Tiantian is as precious as a piece of flesh from the heart of her son. She couldn’t afford the slightest negligence.

Now, Jiang Lifang placed almost all her hope on He Tiantian and dared not tire her out.

"I won’t be able to sleep if I go back," He Tiantian said. "By the way, Aunt Jiang, where is my dad? Where should I rest?"

"Oh my, look at my poor memory," Jiang Lifang gave a wry smile. "There’s a security guard outside the door; I’ll have him take you back. Right, Tiantian, stay away from Huo Yingqi in the future. That girl’s not right in the head."

Compared to her future daughter-in-law, that unreliable niece was a source of frustration for Jiang Lifang. Thinking of what Huo Yingqi had done before, Jiang Lifang was very angry.

"I will remember that," He Tiantian stated, feeling confident now and unafraid of anyone.

Jiang Lifang saw He Tiantian out and told the security guard to take her home.

Arriving at the Huo Family Old Mansion, Old Master Huo and Old Madam Huo were in the living room talking with He Jingyu.

The bodyguard escorted He Tiantian in, and Old Madam Huo quickly got up, saying, "Tiantian, have you eaten?"

"I have eaten, Grandmother," He Tiantian responded, putting her belongings to the side.

"Then you must be very tired. Go up and rest, come, I’ll show you to your room," Old Madam Huo said, taking He Tiantian’s hand. "The hot water is ready and will be sent to your room soon. You’ll sleep soundly after you bathe."

"Thank you, Grandmother," He Tiantian said. Although it was only her second meeting with Old Madam Huo, her kindness made Tiantian feel familiar.

Seeing He Tiantian, Old Madam Huo temporarily forgot her grandson’s misfortune, finding her exceptionally dear—no good!

No wonder her second son and his wife kept saying how good their future daughter-in-law was. Indeed, she was great! She hadn’t seen a better girl than He Tiantian.

Not just in looks, but in temperament too!

"Tiantian, you rest. Treat this place as your own home and don’t be polite," Old Madam Huo told her, then helped He Tiantian close the door.

"Thank you, Grandmother," He Tiantian said through the door. Brother Yingjie’s grandmother is quite an interesting old lady.
