Chapter 408: Chapter 379 Diamond Barbie_1

He Tiantian placed the photo on the table, following the instructions given by Snake King without alteration.

Qi Shuliang glanced at it and recognizing the person, asked, "May I ask if this person is called Kres Fisher?"

Officer William was taken aback and asked, "Yes, Mr. Qi, he is Kres Fisher. Do you know this person?"

Qi Shuliang nodded and said, "Yes, I know him. He is the adopted son of my wife Anna’s distant aunt. Unfortunately, he overdosed on drugs three years ago and it killed his adoptive mother. My wife was very angry at the time, but she forgave him and allowed him to manage a farm in Texas. It’s been a long time since we’ve been in contact; we had no idea he had come to New York."

"So who in your household is more familiar with this Kres Fisher?" Mr. Smith asked, "Based on our earlier deduction, those people were able to kidnap the two young ladies from your family quite easily; obviously, they knew your whereabouts to manage that smoothly."

Having had this suspicion before, Qi Shuliang nodded and said, "We’re not clear on who it is at the moment, but I will have someone question them when I return."

"Thank you," Mr. Smith said, then turned to He Tiantian, "Miss Janie, when did you wake up?"

He Tiantian thought for a moment and said, "Around seven or eight in the evening, I believe. After waking up, I untied the ropes and escaped with my sister."

"Did you hear any noises at that time?" Mr. Smith asked.

"I heard the roaring of men downstairs, along with the blaring of frantic music!" He Tiantian answered.

"Did you escape through the window?" Mr. Smith inquired, his question seemingly illogical, but it was intentional.

"Yes," He Tiantian said, "since it was on the third floor, I tore the bedsheet into strips, tied them together, lowered my sister down first, and then I climbed down."

"Do you know the weight of Miss Angela?" Mr. Smith asked, finally addressing the point of doubt.

Qi Shuliang and Mr. Smith exchanged glances; indeed, this was the issue—they did not believe He Tiantian had such strength.

"About 40 kilograms," He Tiantian replied.

"And your own weight?"

"48 kilograms."

"Do you think a young lady weighing forty-eight kilograms could lift a forty-kilogram young lady? Especially under unconscious conditions?" Mr. Smith retorted, his tone casual but his expression serious.

"Because I am very strong!" He Tiantian answered confidently.

"How strong?"

He Tiantian looked around, unable to find any object to prove her strength, her gaze settled on the large table in front of her, which likely weighed quite a few dozen kilograms.

"Would everyone please stand up?" He Tiantian asked.

Of course, Qi Shuliang and Mr. Smith stood up.

Officer William and Officer Tom also rose to their feet.

"Could you move back there? I’m afraid I might bump into you," He Tiantian said softly, like a harmless and kind young girl.

Several people backed away to a safe distance.

He Tiantian tested her hands, then tilted and pressed down on one corner of the table. The opposite corner of the table immediately tipped up; then, taking a deep breath, she lifted the table with both hands until it stabilized, after which she switched to using one hand.

He Tiantian looked calm and collected as she turned to Officer William and asked, "Does this prove I’m strong enough?"

Mr. Smith swallowed hard and nodded, saying, "I’m convinced, Miss Janie. Can you put the table down now, please?"

"Alright," He Tiantian replied as she lowered the table, "Everyone can sit down now."

Young Officer Tom looked at He Tiantian as if she were an idol—the embodiment of a real-life Barbie!

"I now believe that Miss Janie is capable of doing that," William said. "We also found footprints under the window that match your shoes, and we checked the door lock. It was locked from the outside with no key, and can’t be opened from inside. We now have every reason to believe you are a victim and have nothing to do with the death of those six people."

"Thank you, officer, for your discerning eye," He Tiantian said complacently.

"Mr. Qi, since one of the deceased was a relative of yours, we must investigate carefully and need your cooperation," Mr. Smith said. The death of the six people would be concluded based on the forensic examination; however, the kidnapping case was still unresolved and required further investigation.

Now that they had clues, the next steps would be easier.

"Much obliged, Officer William," Qi Shuliang nodded, "I am willing to cooperate with the police investigation!"

By the time Qi Shuliang and Mr. Smith came out of the police station, it was already four in the afternoon.

Mr. Smith gave He Tiantian a meaningful glance and then took his leave.

Qi Shuliang’s face was also alight with a constant smile. Once in the car, he couldn’t help saying, "Tiantian, you really surprised me."

"Hehe!" He Tiantian giggled foolishly. Her actions must have made Qi Shuliang unable to contain his amazement. "Actually, I just wanted to see Officer William’s surprised look!"

"Haha, his expression was indeed priceless, very rich," Qi Shuliang agreed. "I’m starting to understand now; this must have been Kres Fisher’s downfall. It’s just that he had the fate to kidnap, but not the fate to enjoy the ransom. Such a pitiful ghost."

"What goes around comes around," He Tiantian said. "Uncle Qi, when you get back, you should thoroughly investigate who was in contact with that Kres."

"Yes, I will," Qi Shuliang nodded. "This time, I’m truly grateful to you. Without you, Zhengmin probably wouldn’t have come back safely."

"No need to thank me, Zhengmin is my sister," replied He Tiantian.

Later, after investigations by Qi Shuliang, Anna, and Officer William, it turned out Kres had seduced a maid from the Qi family and learned of Qi Shuliang’s travel plans. Kres knew Anna was wealthy, so he plotted and directed this entire charade.

The deaths of the six individuals became important local news, reminding the community to stay away from drugs and to promote a healthy lifestyle.

A week after the kidnapping incident, Qi Zhengmin finally bounced back to her lively self.

Third Grandma Qi humorously carried out a ritual; having heard that Zhengmin had night tremors, she took a bowl to the open front door at midnight, sat down, and tossed a soybean into the bowl while calling out Zhengmin’s name, one hundred beans for one hundred calls.

Needing to do this in the dark, Third Grandma Qi nearly fell over.

Anna, puzzled and then flabbergasted after Qi Shuliang explained, didn’t agree inwardly but didn’t show it. Instead, she thanked grandma for her well-meaning efforts, and the next day, she took Zhengmin to the cathedral to have a priest pray for her peace.
