Chapter 405: Chapter 376 Absurd Manner of Death_1
Just as Qi Shuliang, Anna, and Third Grandma Qi were anxiously waiting, they received a phone call from Uncle Sam at home.
After hanging up, Qi Shuliang exclaimed with joy, "Tiantian has already called home, they’ve escaped, and now they’re at a small police station called Kira. We’re heading over right now."
"Really?" Anna said with tear-stained cheeks, tears streaming down her face. She hadn’t closed her eyes all night, worried sick.
She dared not sleep, fearing that upon waking, she would hear devastating news about her daughter.
Third Grandma Qi was elderly and not in good spirits, but she also sat on the sofa, occasionally closing her eyes restlessly.
Anna urged her to rest in bed, but Third Grandma Qi simply couldn’t sleep. Her own granddaughter was in trouble, and He Tiantian had been kidnapped—it was nearly the death of her.
"It’s true," Qi Shuliang said. "Uncle Sam wouldn’t tell a lie."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s hurry and pick them both up," Third Grandma Qi said hurriedly, not bothering to change her clothes, and rushed out the door.
Qi Zhenghan, following his father, was busy hustling and bustling without stop.
He did not want his sister and He Tiantian to come to any harm!
Upon receiving the news, Qi Shuliang led everyone to drive to the small Kira Police Station.
About a dozen police cars, along with Qi Shuliang’s bodyguards and more, rapidly advanced along the highway in a line of twenty or thirty vehicles, forming a long motorcade.
In about an hour and half, they arrived at the small police station.
He Tiantian, Qi Zhengmin, and Mrs. Brown were chatting softly.
Anna and Qi Shuliang, upon seeing their daughter, hurriedly ran over.
"Angela!" Anna cried out in surprise, not caring about anything as long as her daughter was fine.
"Mom, I’m here," Qi Zhengmin said, wearing a clean pair of slippers Mrs. Brown had taken out of a suitcase because, having suddenly stood on the ground, a blister on her foot had burst, causing her to wince in pain.
Anna hugged her daughter tightly and cried once again.
Qi Shuliang, as a father, didn’t show the same fervor as Anna, but all his deep fatherly love was displayed in his eyes, in his heart.
This scene reminded He Tiantian of her parents back in her home country.
"Tiantian, are you alright?" Qi Zhenghan, thinking He Tiantian might feel neglected watching his parents’ affection, asked hurriedly, "What exactly happened?"
"It was like this..." He Tiantian had already agreed on a story with the Snake King from the Barrier Space and also shared the follow-up arrangements made by the Snake King.
Qi Zhenghan was amazed and praised her, "Tiantian, you’re really brave."
"Yeah, if it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have known when we’d be able to find you," said Qi Shuliang gratefully. "By the way, have the police gone to catch those people?"
At that moment, a middle-aged man who looked like an officer came out and shook hands with Qi Shuliang, saying, "Mr. Qi, rest assured, we’ve sent people to investigate, and there will be news soon. The statements from the two young misses of your estate are complete, and you may go home now."
"Thank you," said Qi Shuliang. "You’ve done well."
Third Grandma Qi looked He Tiantian up and down, touched her head, and said, "Thank goodness you’re safe. Otherwise, how could I face your parents!"
"Fortunately, we turned danger into safety," said He Tiantian. Then, she looked at Qi Zhenghan and Qi Shuliang, "We escaped during the night, but we were afraid to hitch a ride in the dark. Only in the morning did we dare to try hitching a ride on the roadside. Many cars passed by, but none were willing to help us, except for Mrs. Brown."
Qi Shuliang stepped forward, bowed respectfully, and said, "Thank you, Mrs. Brown! Here is my business card, and you can call me anytime you need anything. Please leave me your contact information, and we will be sure to thank you generously once we are back home."
"No need to thank me, I’m a mother of two kids, doing this is just a small effort for me," said Mrs. Brown, but out of politeness, she still accepted Qi Shuliang’s business card, although she didn’t share her own address.
Afterward, with the children, she took her leave.
He Tiantian, Qi Zhengmin, and Jimmy, Amy waved goodbye.
Lady Brown didn’t say, but Qi Shuliang felt uncomfortable about it and had one of his bodyguards follow her to find out where they lived, to see what kind of help they needed, as a way to thank them.
Not long after Anna, Third Grandma Qi, and Qi Shuliang left with the children, Kira Police Station was abuzz as if a pot had exploded.
The place that He Tiantian had reported was investigated, and upon arrival, they found a scene that was shockingly appalling.
The villa was now cordoned off inside and out, with entry prohibited, and the higher-level police department had already dispatched people over.
"Warning, do you think it could be..." a young police officer asked softly, suggesting that while one person’s madness could be coincidental, the simultaneous death of six individuals seemed suspicious.
Six people had died!
The scene was shocking, gruesome, and absurd.
This was a major case that had not been seen in Kira Town for decades!
And the manner of death was so shocking.
With a grim face, the police chief said, "According to Janie’s report, they escaped through the window using bedsheets. Did you see any bedsheets there? Any of their fingerprints or footprints on the edge?"
"There were indeed bedsheets at the window, along with fingerprints and footprints. It’s just that for a frail girl... to descend from such a height..." the young police officer still doubted, finding it hard to believe the bizarre manner of the deaths.
"You saw what those people looked like. If that girl hadn’t escaped, do you know what would have happened to her?" the police chief asked. "The third floor, how high can it be? When pushed to the limit, even if it were thirty floors, as long as there’s enough rope, one could still get down."
"But..." said the police chief, "we need evidence for everything!"
These six people had kidnapped He Tiantian and Qi Zhengmin and demanded a large sum of money.
As for the kidnappers’ deaths, it was merely the inevitable outcome of their unrestrained behavior.
All the police officers who investigated deduced that He Tiantian had descended from the window.
The deaths of these six people had nothing to do with He Tiantian or Qi Zhengmin!
When He Tiantian and Qi Zhengmin arrived home, the family doctor was already waiting.
Seeing the bandage on Qi Zhengmin’s foot, the doctor nodded and said, "The bandaging is very professional!"
However, to be cautious, the doctor still unwrapped it, saw that there was no problem, and then bandaged it up again, while also treating the minor wounds on the body.
He Tiantian was fine, except for some abrasions on her arm, no major issues occurred.
After the doctor left, Qi Zhengmin and He Tiantian ate something and then went to bed.
Qi Zhengmin didn’t dare to sleep alone and insisted on sleeping with He Tiantian.
He Tiantian, unable to bear refusing her, asked Qi Zhengmin to come to her room.
Both of them were extremely tired, and it wasn’t long before they fell into a deep sleep.
He Tiantian was protected by the Snake King and, having experienced much, wasn’t too frightened, but this was the first time Qi Zhengmin had suffered so greatly.
Even in sleep, she still occasionally shivered!
