Chapter 530: 530

At a certain spot in the Tatamu Mountain Range.

An elderly man in a gray robe was hesitant in the forest, struggling to make a decision.

This time he ventured out, he wanted to find some resources to help advance his cultivation. Even though he had decent talents and had stepped into the Grandmaster Realm, he felt his cultivation progress was slowing down. If the situation stayed the same, he may never make progress in his lifetime, let alone enter the supreme Legendary Realm and explore a new cultivation path.

Some time ago, in the Dragon Mountain Range, he could have gotten two treasures. However, a young lad snatched them away, almost driving him into a fury.

A while ago, he saw several Heartless Fruits, which immediately caused a stir in his heart. Although the fruit had no direct impact on his own cultivation, it could be used to trade for other cultivation resources.

However, the Cannibal Tribe was incredibly strong. He had detected several formidable auras and didn’t dare to venture in recklessly.

"I can’t give up." The elderly man in the gray robe suddenly made up his mind.

Being toyed with by a youngster in the Dragon Mountain Range where he didn’t obtain anything and even lost an Innate cultivator, he really couldn’t accept going back empty-handed!

Moreover, if he returned empty-handed, it wouldn’t look good to his sectarian superiors. Although he was a powerful Grandmaster and there were only a few in the sect who dared to offend him, wouldn’t returning without any spoils of war be embarrassing?

Luckily, the men from the Dragon Mountain Range were all dead. The fact that he was toyed with by a youngster wouldn’t be leaked.

"Huh? Someone’s coming."

Just as the old man in the gray robe was about to return to the Cannibal Tribe, he suddenly sensed several auras. Among them, three belonged to Innate experts, and one even belonged to a Peak Innate expert.

"Damn it, Yao Rao is here." Zhang Xian also sensed the auras of the three Innate experts, one of them being Yao Rao’s.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see Yao Rao; he rather was concerned the old man in the gray robe might target Yao Rao’s group. This old fellow was shameless; if someone was present, he wouldn’t let go of such an opportunity.

As expected, the old man in the gray robe ran toward the Cannibal Tribe with a lecherous smile.

Suddenly, roars of rage were heard, growing louder and closer.

"That damn old man actually drew the Cannibal Tribe’s people here." Zhang Xian’s expression darkened.

Nevertheless, he quickly turned around and sprinted toward the Cannibal Tribe. If the old man could use Yao Rao’s group to hold off the Cannibal Tribe members, allowing him enough time to snatch the Heartless Fruits, he wouldn’t miss out on the opportunity.

One had to say, that old man was naturally a scapegoat for others. With such a good opportunity presented, if he didn’t seize the Heartless Fruits, he wouldn’t be doing justice to the old man’s setup.

"Hahaha." Seeing two Innate experts emerging from the tribe, the old man in the gray robe laughed delightedly.

The old man was truly brilliant! Once out, there were two Innates, over a dozen Post Acquired Peak cultivators, and a bunch of youngsters; those left in the tribe posed no threat to him. As long as the people in front could hold them back for a while, he could get all the Heartless Fruits and retreat safely.

"Hahaha..." Thinking about it, the smile on the old man in the gray robe’s face grew brighter.

Upon sensing the auras up ahead, he sped up. His plan was to break through the crowd and then circle back to the Cannibal Tribe to retrieve the Heartless Fruits.

...

Two groups in the forest were facing off.

One group consisted of three men and two women, led by Yao Rao.

The other group, the Divine Word, consisted of eight middle-aged men, two of whom were Innate experts; the rest had reached the Post Acquired Peak.

"Hmph, you so-called representatives of the divine are truly arrogant." Yao Rao looked at the seven men before her and sneered coldly. "Do you think I’ll be afraid just because you have two Innate experts on your side?"

Black Cat, Little Tiger, and Bat all smirked. These guys dared to provoke them, demanding their spoils, basically asking for death. Although their side only had one Innate expert, Yao Rao was already at the peak of Innate and about to ascend to the Grandmaster rank. The two Innate experts in front might be powerful, but they were certainly no match for Elder Sister Yao Rao, who was infamously known as the witch in the mercenary world.

"Heh, the Enchanting Mercenary Organization, huh?" One Innate expert sneered. "Sure, you guys are quite impressive in the mercenary world, even entering the top ranks. But do you dare to oppose us, the Divine Word? Even the Snow Dragon Mercenary Organization can make you suffer. It’d be wise of you to behave."

The other Innate expert snickered. "Exactly. We might not be able to take you down, but can you kill us? As long as we’re alive, you’ll meet your doom."

Yao Rao brushed back her hair and said, "You can come and try."

The two Innate moved to attack, their faces full of malice.

At this moment, their expressions changed drastically and a sense of horror crept into their hearts.

From one direction, an overwhelmingly powerful aura was approaching, with two similarly powerful auras trailing behind.

"What’s happening?" Yao Rao’s face slightly changed.

Soon, an old man in a gray robe entered their field of vision, moving incredibly fast like a breeze.

"Hehe..." The old man chuckled and bypassed Yao Rao and her group without any intention to attack. Instead, he dashed straight forward and disappeared into the woods.

Yao Rao and her group’s expressions changed drastically. Did the damned old man intend to use them as a shield?

Just as they thought, the Cannibal Tribe’s members stopped chasing the old man and shifted their focus to Yao Rao and her group. Their long spears, like arrows, shot out at lightning speed.

"Move quickly." Yao Rao ordered.

Upon hearing her, Black Cat and Little Tiger quickly retreated.

Bat lifted up Liya and followed them.

This girl really was a burden sometimes! Not only could they not fight, but they also couldn’t even escape.

"Retreat quickly..."

The members of Divine Word also fled quickly.

"Damn it..."

Yao Rao stood behind Black Cat, Bat, Little Tiger, and Liya, shielding them.

None of the four had reached the Innate realm of strength and Liya was just a commoner. They could never escape from the pursuit of an Innate expert, so she had no choice but to protect them from behind.

If those god-voicing bastards had stayed, they could have fought back. But that was clearly impossible. Those guys ran faster than rabbits and had no intention of fighting at all.

...

In the valley, the Cannibal tribe stirred.

With a sudden emergence of a powerful enemy, the tribe had begun to mobilize, patrolling around. Two Innate experts stood in the center, their fierce eyes continuously scanning their surroundings.

"Haha..."

Suddenly, a burst of laughter rang out.

Then, a grey-robed elder descended from a massive rock, landing impressively in the midst of the Cannibal tribe.

"Roar..."

Everyone let out a roar akin to a beast and charged towards the grey-robed elder.

Two Innate experts also dashed out without hesitation.

"Haha, come on!" The grey-robed elder laughed heartily, charging at the two Innate experts instead of retreating. With the drastic decrease in numbers, it was effortless for him to obtain the Heartless Fruit.

Before the others could return, he was confident that he could deal with the ones left in the tribe. It was not difficult to handle just two Innate and a dozen Post-Acquired Peaks.

In this kind of battle, the truly useful ones were the Innate experts. The rest were nothing significant and could be wiped out casually.

"Tsk, tsk..."

Zhang Xian stepped out from behind a stone and casually strolled to the Heartless Fruit tree, unceremoniously plucking the fruits one by one and storing them in his storage ring.

Actually, he had shown up quite some time ago, just unnoticed.

Just as the grey-robed elder became the target of the Cannibal tribe’s attack, he nonchalantly revealed himself.

"Haha... you guys are no match for me," the grey-robed elder laughed aloud.

But the moment he spotted Zhang Xian seemingly innocently plucking the Heartless Fruits in the distance, his laughter abruptly halted and his face showed complete disbelief.

"You continue to fight." After picking the last Heartless Fruit, Zhang Xian smiled at the grey-robed elder, and like a shot arrow, swiftly dove into the woods.

The satisfaction of screwing someone over feels really good!

"Bastard..."

The heart-wrenching roar of the grey-robed elder resounded within the Cannibal tribe. A brief moment of distraction earlier had left him stuck in a tough spot.

Fury, unmatched fury. To think that he had once again encountered that damn brat while in the Tatamu Mountain Range. And that, once again, the brat had ruined his plans.

...

Inside the forest, Yao Rao and the others were retreating.

But not long after, two Innate experts caught up with them and headed straight for Yao Rao.

"Damn it..."

Yao Rao could have escaped, but Bat, Little Tiger, Black Cat, and Liya wouldn’t have stood a chance, so she had no choice but to block the pursuers from behind.

"Hehe..."

The few from the God’s Voice hadn’t fled but were lurking nearby, watching the drama unfold. With the depletion of the forces of the Cannibal Tribe’s Innate experts, it shouldn’t be hard to finish off Yao Rao.

Among the three major mercenary organizations, they had already dealt with the Snow Dragon Mercenary Organization, but the other two didn’t give a damn about them. If they could kill Yao Rao, it’d be equivalent to eliminating the Enchanting Mercenary Organization. The entire Enchanting Mercenary Organization was primarily sustained by Yao Rao alone. Losing her would mean a plummeting fall from grace for the organization.

There was no denying that it was a significant achievement. The organization would be pleased if they killed Yao Rao.

"Elder Sister Yao Rao, why don’t you take Liya and leave first!" Bat suggested, turning to her.

Yao Rao snapped back angrily, "Just get the hell out of here."

But Bat and the others didn’t leave. Even though Yao Rao was fiercely protective, she held genuine affection for them. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have followed her so faithfully.

At this critical juncture, how could they abandon Yao Rao and escape on their own? The few bastards on the side were definitely waiting to sneak attack.

"You guys are all trash!"

Suddenly, a figure appeared from one direction. Without any noticeable movement, several heads of Post Acquired Peak warriors from the Cannibal Tribe flew up, landing on the ground with constant bleeding.

Following that, the figure swiftly charged towards an Innate expert of the Cannibal Tribe.

With a raised palm that seemed like a collapsing sky, and carrying horrifying power, it slammed down on that Innate expert from behind.

"Puff..."

Unable to dodge in time, the Innate expert spat out fresh blood, falling forward in a big sprawl, and sliding several meters along the ground.
