Chapter 513: Chapter 513: The Mysterious Team from the Dragon Mountain Range_1

At noon, somewhere in the forest of the Dragon Mountain Range.

Zhang Xian stood on the tallest nearby tree, gazing at the endless lush greenery, overwrought with uncertainty.

There was no precise map of the Dragon Mountain Range, so he had no idea where the so-called deep part of the range was. This place had no end, only exits.

"Going on blindly like this, I might accidentally wander into the so-called deep part. If I had power like the master’s, I wouldn’t be afraid. As of now, I clearly can’t move sideways in here." Zhang Xian murmured after scanning the surroundings from his perch on the tree.

Having been in the mountain range for two days, he felt he had ventured quite deep. He had even encountered a monster with innate power.

If he kept going like this, he may run into a Grandmaster-level being.

Though his journey so far had been a bit tough and tense, it wasn’t entirely fruitless. He hadn’t come across any valuable finds, but he’d managed to unearth a few things to make do.

"Let’s try going deeper."

After descending from the tree, Zhang Xian continued onward.

Compared to before, his pace had slowed considerably. Having entered the interior of the Dragon Mountain Range, he no longer dared to recklessly sprint as before.

"Huh? There are people ahead." A short while into his journey, Zhang Xian suddenly came to a halt.

Not far ahead, a group of five men and a woman were sneaking nervously through the woods, behaving as if they were up to no good.

Two among them were of the innate level and the rest of them were at the Post Acquired Peak—a formidable group indeed.

"Which dominion do they hail from, bringing out two innate-level individuals right off the bat?" Zhang Xian, furrowed his brows, and proceeded to shadow them discreetly.

The group of six consisted of four Westerners and two Easterners—with both parties boasting an innate-level individual amongst them. However, the Easterner didn’t appear to practice Ancient Martial Arts.

"Could he be a ninja?" As he contemplated the innately gifted Easterner, Zhang Xian was reminded of the ninja he’d once encountered.

It seemed that this individual had an aura extremely similar to that of the ninja.

"I’ll continue to follow them and see." Zhang Xian decided, tailing them quietly.

With his spiritual power serving as an aide, it was nearly impossible for others to detect his movement. Anyone below the Legendary Realm would struggle to spot him unless they had an exceptional ability to sense danger.

Of course, he needed to maintain a safe distance. Innate warriors possessed good sensing abilities. Even though they couldn’t determine his strength, they could sense his presence.

In the forest, the unit of six was slowly progressing. Their sharp gazes ceaselessly scanned the surroundings, trying to capture every detail.

"Crack..." A slight sound echoed.

The group was taken aback. Their hair stood on end, erect like arrows.

"Chirp..." A white rabbit leaped out of the grass and scurried away.

Upon seeing this, the group let out a sigh of relief.

The woman laughed at herself and said, "There’s an old saying in Huaxia that one bitten by a snake for a year fears a rope. Seems like it perfectly describes our current situation."

"Stop yapping nonsense." A bald man interrupted: "The Dragon Mountain Range is a perilous place, slight carelessness could cost us our lives. Have you forgotten the previous lesson already?"

The woman smiled and remained silent.

"Be careful!" A long-haired middle-aged man warned: "The creature we encountered earlier might not be far. It could attack us at any given moment. Let’s not lose our lives in a silly manner."

"Ah, if only we knew that the Dragon Mountain Range was so dangerous, we wouldn’t have come here." A man in a floral shirt lamented, "We started with thirteen people, now we’re down to just six. We’ve found no traces of what we’re looking for. If things go on like this, I don’t know if I can make it out of this damn mountain range alive."

"If you can’t find what you’re looking for, do you think you’ll be able to live comfortably once you’re back?" the woman retorted cynically.

The man in the floral shirt gave a bitter smile, "Indeed, the object is crucial. If we return empty-handed after working so hard, those in the organization will be furious."

"Damn... look there..." Suddenly, the bald man pointed at a massive white object on a large tree up ahead.

Moving closer for a better look, their faces reflected horror.

"It’s snakeskin." The woman examined the white object and said, her brows tightly knitted, "Judging from the size of this skin, the snake that shed it must’ve been more than ten meters long."

The long-haired man grimaced, "It’s not... nearby, is it? We were previously met with a powerful lion, now here we are in the territory of a python. It’s like we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. We’re nothing more than small fry, barely enough to fill the gaps between the snake’s teeth."

"Let’s just be cautious. A big size does not mean great strength," said the curly-haired man who had remained silent till now.

Upon hearing this, everyone nodded their agreement.

As one of the two innate-level warriors, and the strongest member of the group, they wouldn’t dare disrespect him.

"Move on." said the other innate-level warrior, who had peculiar hairstyle with his top hair twisted into a braid, adding a cute touch that contrasted with his innate-level status.

"Look, there’s a huge cave ahead." The woman’s eyes suddenly lit up.

The curly-haired man scanned the area and said, "Don’t celebrate too soon. From the surrounding environment and the traces on the ground, this cave probably is the python’s dwelling place. Beware of your actions."

"Hmm, there are indeed traces of crawling on the ground, and the surrounding area only has a few bare trees, with no grass in sight." The woman nodded.

The Innate Ninja squinted his eyes, staring intently at the cave entrance, as if trying to see through it.

"What type of snake is this?"

Not far away, Zhang Xian was hiding behind a tree, silently watching the entrance of the cave.

Unfortunately, the distance was too great for him to extend his spiritual senses into the cave to inspect what was inside. The opposing party had two Innate experts, so he dared not to get too close.

"Not good..."

Suddenly, Zhang Xian turned his head and looked in the opposite direction.

Within his range of spiritual senses, a gigantic creature had appeared, it was a large python. This fellow unexpectedly wasn’t in the cave, but was wandering outside.

Perhaps it had sensed something, the large python sped towards this direction at a fast speed, brushing aside everything in its path. Trees, weeds, and everything else seemed as fragile as paper, unable to stop it in the slightest.

"Hiss hiss..."

The giant python seemed to have spotted Zhang Xian and suddenly hissed, quickening its pace.

"Damn it..." Zhang Xian quickly turned around to run in a different direction, uninterested in confronting the python directly.

It’s not that he couldn’t handle the giant thing in front of him, the giant python only had innate strength and wasn’t at peak level. However, there were also two Innates and four Post Acquired Peaks present.

"Puff puff..."

The giant python didn’t seem to have any intention of letting Zhang Xian escape. Its huge tail swung like a Divine Dragon’s, sweeping and breaking several big trees before crashing toward Zhang Xian.

Zhang Xian leapt aside, avoiding the crashing giant tail, and continued to flee.

The giant python once again swung its tail, crashing it to the ground and causing a pit more than a meter deep. At the same time, this attack also blocked Zhang Xian’s escape route.

"Damn it..." Zhang Xian turned around and ran toward the direction of the six people.

Of course, it was not his intention to lead the python there, but since it was blocking the way behind him, he was forced to run forward. The python’s body was simply too long.

"Fuck..."

Upon seeing a giant python charging towards them, the six individuals’ pupils shrank in fear. When they saw Zhang Xian, their faces were full of anger.

This damn guy actually lured the giant python over here.

"Quick, scatter!" the woman shouted.

The people didn’t need the woman to remind them, they had already jumped away, each retreating in different directions.

"Heh heh..."

Zhang Xian made a jump, flew five or six meters, and then asked, "Guys, I didn’t intentionally lure this thing over here, I had no choice. Its body is too long, I couldn’t escape its attack range no matter how I tried to flee. Since it’s here now, how about we team up and take down this fellow?"

The six people did not answer. Instead, they looked at Zhang Xian in astonishment.

How could such a young fellow appear in the Dragon Mountain Range? Moreover, he displayed quite an impressive speed just now, could he be an Innate master too?

The giant python rushed into the crowd but didn’t launch an immediate attack. Its huge eyes glowed with a cold light as it scanned around continuously.

Zhang Xian asked, "So, any ideas?"

"We can give it a try," the Innate Ninja looked to the curly-haired man and asked, "What do you think?"

The curly-haired man smiled and said, "Indeed, if the seven of us work together, this fellow might not be able to bounce around."

"Alright, I’ll make the first move." After nodding, Zhang Xian suddenly dashed out.

With a push of his right foot against the ground, his body soared several meters high, charging straight at the python’s head. His tightly clenched fist was already prepared to strike with incredible intensity.

"This guy is also an Innate expert!" the Innate Ninja exclaimed in surprise.

Regaining his senses, he too rushed out, pulling out the katana at his waist and attacking the middle section of the python.

"Damn..." The curly-haired man saw one going up, one in the middle, leaving the tail part for him, and was somewhat irked. The tail of a snake is a major weapon!

Of course, despite being upset, his hands were not slow. He darted towards the python’s tail like a spring and threw a fierce punch.

"Hiss hiss..." The giant python moved, its massive body starting to swing rapidly.

Zhang Xian, who was in mid-air and unable to change directions, was slightly frustrated when he saw the python evade his line of attack.

What an underwhelming jump that was!

However, he did not stop, bouncing back towards the python from a tree at the side after his failed attempt, and once again, whipped out his right leg like a whip.

"Hiss..." The giant python avoided one blow but failed to avoid the second one, getting hit squarely.

The enormous force of the blow, even though it was resilient, couldn’t withstand such a fierce attack. Its huge head fell to one side and crashed into the ground.

"Haha... beautiful..." The woman couldn’t help but cheer.

Zhang Xian’s series of movements, from bouncing back from a tree after his initial attack missed, to launching a second attack, were incredibly impressive. Furthermore, the force behind that kick was not to be underestimated.
