Chapter 497: Chapter 497 - I Would Definitely Marry Him If I Were A Woman_1

The short man glanced at Zhang Xian and, without saying a word, nodded his head and started to walk away.

Han Xiangyu and Xiaolong were surprised at his action. Just by following him, they could discover the base of the terror group so easily that there wasn’t even need to investigate?

At this moment, they finally understood why Zhang Xian was not in a hurry. With such a guide, what was there to rush about? The short man was obviously very knowledgeable about the small border town.

Cao Jianxin was also taken aback.

Meanwhile, he was worried about whether his plan could be carried out. If they directly attacked, would the others be caught unprepared and Zhang Xian be annihilated?

"Stick close and don’t get lost, this place isn’t safe," the short man warned as he led the way.

Many houses in the border town were built exactly the same, which was convenient for escape and hiding. A stranger would get lost sooner or later.

"Zhang Xian..." Han Xiangyu asked as she grabbed his hand. "Are we really going to find that terror group just by going over there? Could there be any unexpected situations?"

Zhang Xian replied, "What could go wrong? And, I assure you, my brother here knows everything about this area around the border. Just relax. I can handle this small matter."

"Why are you always so blindly confident?" questioned Han Xiangyu, somewhat at a loss for words.

Having spent a few days with Zhang Xian, she had come to the realization that he was quite the show-off, acting as though he could support the sky if it were to fall, radiating extreme confidence.

"When have I ever been blindly confident?" Zhang Xian responded with a bitter smile strewn across his face.

Han Xiangyu retorted, "What do you mean? Even though you’ve found the clue, if the enemy is heavily armed, can we easily win? How did such a significant thing become a minor issue in your mouth?"

"Oh, so you realize the urgency now?" Zhang Xian asked, a bit surprised. Previously, he had thought she had quite a thick skin.

With a pout, Han Xiangyu responded, "There’s no way I’d be as blindly confident as you! I can’t understand why my grandfather chose you to protect me."

Zhang Xian slapped his forehead, a dark cloud appearing on his face.

She didn’t know a thing, yet was sitting there making random guesses? That terror group was just ordinary people, the only thing potentially intimidating was their heavy firepower.

But, as a powerful person close to the Grandmaster Realm, would he be afraid of just a few common people? Even if they had heavy firepower, it would only be useful if they knew how to efficiently use it. Not everyone is a sharpshooter.

"I can’t be bothered with you," Han Xiangyu huffed, rolling her eyes at Zhang Xian before turning her head away, not speaking any further.

Zhang Xian rubbed his nose, also deciding to no longer stir the pot.

"It’s just up ahead."

After a while, the short man stopped in front of a small courtyard and reported, "There are seven people in total, fully equipped, heavily armed and one of them is a sniper."

"Are you sure there are seven people?" asked Cao Jianxin.

Without paying any heed to Cao Jianxin, the short man looked towards Zhang Xian and asked, "So, Brother Zhang, what’s your plan? Going in directly?"

Cao Jianxin was fuming- after all, why was it that everyone ignored him? He was a member of Skynet and deserved some respect!

"You all wait for me outside." Zhang Xian smiled, did a flip and jumped in.

Han Xiangyu saw Zhang Xian jump in and wanted to stop him. However, Zhang Xian didn’t give her the opportunity. He was extraordinarily quick, and before she could blink, he was out of sight.

"He went in?" the short man stuttered, then with his arm around Da Meng’s shoulder, he laughed and said, "Come on, brother, let’s go sit over there."

Da Meng gave a single chuckle, replying, "Okay, but first, let’s light a cigarette."

The short man sat next to a stone, passing Da Meng a cigarette. After that, the two of them started happily chatting, trading stories back and forth.

"You guys..." Han Xiangyu’s mouth twitched a couple of times. She now approached Da Meng and the short man and asked, "How can you guys be like this?"

Dumbfounded, the short man asked, "What’s wrong? Miss, do you smoke too? Sorry, I didn’t know, would you like one?"

Han Xiangyu furiously replied, "Who... Who wants to smoke?"

The short man responded, "If you don’t smoke, then why are you joining us? Do you have some problem?"

Han Xiangyu replied, "Don’t you feel that you are being unreasonable? Zhang Xian has gone in alone to confront the terror group. Even if you guys don’t help, how could you sit here so leisurely, smoking and chatting? Is this how you treat your brother?"

"Um..." Da Meng and the short man were taken off guard and then burst into laughter. Why would they worry about Zhang Xian with his strength?

"What are you laughing at?" Han Xiangyu shouted angrily.

The short man recovered and explained, "Miss, let’s just wait here. Brother Zhang will return soon. By not going in, we are providing him the best help."

Han Xiangyu frowned and asked, "What do you mean? Why is us not going in the biggest help we can provide? Can he handle so many people all by himself?"

Da Meng replied, "Miss, Brother Xian is far more powerful than us. If we went in, we would only be a hindrance, understand?"

"Really?" Han Xiangyu asked in astonishment.

"Yes!" Da Meng and the dwarf nodded, picking up their conversation.

Han Xiangyu didn’t know what to say. They had come together on this mission, yet only Zhang Xian had ventured in, while the rest watched from the outside.

"Xiangyu, what’s happening?" Xiaolong ran over. "Why did Zhang Xian go in alone?"

Han Xiangyu said: "They said it’s best for us to wait here, claiming we’d actually hinder Zhang Xian if we went in. What do you think?"

"Seriously?" Xiaolong asked. "Is Zhang Xian going to take on the seven bandits on his own?"

Han Xiangyu replied: "Isn’t that the current situation? Even though it’s night, bandits are always vigilant; the slightest disturbance can wake them. I bet it’s pretty tough!"

Xiaolong suggested: "Should we go in to support him? As his team members, how can we let Zhang Xian take the risk alone?"

"I don’t see it as necessary. Since Zhang Xian’s comrades are so confident, we have no reason not to trust him, right?" Cao Jianxin walked over, smiling.

Originally, he didn’t know how to tackle Zhang Xian. Unexpectedly, Zhang Xian just jumped right in alone. Cao Jianxin thought that was just asking for trouble! He knew that bandits were not to be underestimated as they lived a life by the blade’s edge and were always alert. It was unlikely for one man to succeed in a sneak attack.

Upon seeing Cao Jianxin, Han Xiangyu felt nauseated by his behavior.

Before the mission, he was the most excited, insisting that the mission should come first and be done without delay, while Zhang Xian was always dragging his feet. But when it was time to execute the mission, Zhang Xian, who seemed careless, took the lead, carrying all the risks on his shoulders. Meanwhile, Cao Jianxin, was still plotting against Zhang Xian.

Xiaolong too was quite displeased with Cao Jianxin but didn’t voice his feelings.

Seeing the silence from Han Xiangyu and Xiaolong, Cao Jianxin frowned, "Don’t tell me you are thinking of going in. If you mess things up, this mission will be a failure."

"Xiaolong, let’s get in there." Tired of dealing with Cao Jianxin, Han Xiangyu decided to go in and see.

Xiaolong nodded, going to the fence ready to jump in.

However, just as he made his leap, he was hit by a force and thrown back to the ground several meters away, in quite an ungraceful manner.

Getting up, he saw the dwarf who hit him, "Why did you hit me, brother dwarf? Zhang Xian is in danger inside by himself right now, and I want to go in and help him."

"I appreciate your sentiment, bro..." The dwarf smiled, "But you really don’t need to go in. Also, you might bring trouble to Zhang Xian."

Xiaolong furrowed his brows: "Dwarf brother, are you looking down on me?"

The dwarf shook his head, "Not belittling you, but brother Zhang’s ability is far beyond what you can imagine. Until you see it with your own eyes, you will never comprehend how strong he is."

Han Xiangyu turned to ask, "Have you seen it?"

"I had the privilege to witness it once." The dwarf replied: "But sadly, that wasn’t Zhang’s full strength."

Han Xiangyu murmured, "Is he really that strong? Why don’t I feel it at all? He seems just like an ordinary person!"

Cao Jianxin said, "Just watch! I told you not to go in, but you didn’t listen."

After some deep thought, Xiaolong eventually gave up on the idea of going in. While Dwarf and Da Meng’s admiration for Zhang Xian seemed a little blind, it was undeniable that Zhang Xian had been in for quite a while, and no ruckus had ensued from within. This was enough proof that Zhang Xian was still unnoticed and safe.

"Come and sit!" The dwarf grinned.

Han Xiangyu and Xiaolong exchanged looks and proceeded to sit next to the dwarf.

Cao Jianxin stared at the wall deep in thought. Zhang Xian had been inside for several minutes now, why wasn’t there any commotion? Had he not acted, or was there no one inside in the first place?

"Young lady, are you Zhang’s wife? Otherwise, why would you come to a place like this?" The dwarf looked at Han Xiangyu and asked.

Han Xiangyu, her face darkened, "Just because I’m not Zhang Xian’s wife, it doesn’t mean I can’t be here, right?"

"No..." The dwarf laughed, "But someone as delicate and beautiful as you wouldn’t usually hang out with a bunch of tough guys like us, so I was curious."

Han Xiangyu glanced at the dwarf, "To make it loud and clear, Zhang Xian and I are just comrades, nothing more."

"Ah, what a pity." The dwarf said with a longing face, "If I were a woman, I would definitely marry a remarkable character like brother Zhang."

Han Xiangyu shuddered violently, goosebumps all over. Seriously, could he be any more disgusting?

Da Meng was also somewhat annoyed, unsure when the dwarf had developed such a thought.

"What’s with your expressions?" The dwarf complained. "Did you not hear what I just said? I said if I were a woman, a woman, get it? I’m not gay."

Han Xiangyu and Da Meng both turned their heads away, ignoring the dwarf’s outburst as though they didn’t hear him.

The dwarf was frustrated. These two were doing it on purpose.

"Phew... It’s done."

Suddenly, a figure jumped out from behind the fence, landing gracefully on the ground. It was Zhang Xian, who had ventured in alone earlier.
