"Why don’t you just drop dead?" Du Xinyan shot back disdainfully. "Look at yourself first. I would never like you!"

Zhang Xian asked, confused, "Then why are you having me accompany you to pee? Isn’t this some sort of indirect seduction? I know you are shy, but I suggest you just boldly say it. Even though you’re not really my type, I’m quite generous. If you insist on confessing to me, I might even agree in a fit of joy. You have to fight for it yourself!"

Du Xinyan was left speechless at Zhang Xian’s thick-skinned remarks. Could this man be any more shameless?

After giving Zhang Xian a glare, Du Xinyan walked off, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Not too far away in a tent, Wang Lei was filled with anger upon seeing Zhang Xian accompanying Du Xinyan towards the dark. He was seized with the urge to call someone and have Zhang Xian killed.

However, Zhang Xian was very strong, and Wang Lei’s men would not be able to harm him in the slightest. Otherwise, Wang Lei wouldn’t have to resort to such elaborate schemes beforehand.

"Silver Ring, go ahead!" Wang Lei brought out a small snake from his sleeve which was about twenty meters long, with a silver ring pattern on its pitch-black body, and sneered.

This was his pet, which had been with him for many years and was extremely venomous. Moreover, the Silver Ring snake was incredibly fast. Even with Zhang Xian’s skills, he wouldn’t be able to survive tonight.

The Silver Ring snake, seemingly understanding human speech, slithered at an extremely fast pace towards Zhang Xian and Du Xinyan once it landed on the ground.

Seeing the Silver Ring snake getting close to Zhang Xian and Du Xinyan, Ji Yongzhe smirked, "Zhang Xian, you can’t blame me if you lose your life on Camel’s Peak tonight. You shouldn’t have involved yourself with Lin Ruoyi, let alone be favored by her. She’s my, Ji Yongzhe’s, woman. It’s a pity about that Du Xinyan though, such a beautiful young lady, losing her life on Camel’s Peak tonight."

Zhang Xian was unaware of the approaching small snake.

Equally oblivious, Du Xinyan, who was squatting on the ground, continued to use the toilet, trying to bear the embarrassment.

"Hiss..."

Suddenly, a small snake darted out of the grass. Whether by accident or design, the snake bit into Du Xinyan’s legs.

"Ah..." Du Xinyan let out a scream.

Zhang Xian was standing with his back to Du Xinyan, and the Silver Ring snake hadn’t passed by him. He hadn’t been paying much attention to her, so he didn’t notice anything amiss.

"I... I got... got bitten by... a snake," Du Xinyan stammered, fearful.

When she was bitten, she lowered her head and saw a small snake slithering away, scaring her considerably. Snakes are generally venomous, and many of them are highly poisonous.

"Damn it..." Zhang Xian muttered under his breath, instantly activating his spiritual energy.

At that moment, he noticed a small snake making its way towards him at a considerable speed. Figuring that it should be the one that had bitten Du Xinyan, he stomped on it without hesitation.

Zhang Xian was taken aback, asking, "Which ’there’ are you referring to? Be clear, the poison is already taking effect, we can’t delay any further."

Du Xinyan faltered, "It’s...it’s ’there’!"

Zhang Xian slapped his forehead, "Where exactly? You keep saying ’there’, which ’there’ do you mean?"

The freezing sensation Du Xinyan felt had already spread to her waist and unwilling to delay any further, she grabbed Zhang Xian’s hand and pressed it to the inner fold of her thigh, "It bit me here."

In the distance, Ji Yongzhe noticed Zhang Xian holding Du Xinyan, engaged in who-knows-what while Silver Ring made no movements. Seeing Zhang Xian’s sudden movement earlier, he was certain Zhang Xian had crushed Silver Ring.

He hadn’t expected Zhang Xian to move so quickly, even Silver Ring, renowned for its speed, had been killed instantly.

Du Xinyan had regained her senses. Her body trembling like she was electrocuted.

She had never expected such an absurd incident to occur when she came to Camel’s Peak. Somehow, she had given Zhang Xian a huge advantage.

"Why aren’t you saying anything?" asked Zhang Xian in confusion.

Du Xinyan shook her head, doing her best to calm down before answering, "I...I am fine."

Zhang Xian glanced down at Du Xinyan’s intimate area, swallowing hard, before yanking his hand away. He awkwardly advised, "Um, you should pull your pants back up first."

Du Xinyan blushed as she got up and pulled her pants back up, standing there, not knowing what to do next.

Away, Ji Yongzhe was utterly shocked seeing this. Silver Ring had bitten Du Xinyan earlier, why the hell was she able to stand up again? That’s not scientifically possible!

"What happened?" Lin Ruoyi suddenly ran over.

Seeing Du Xinyan blushing, and Zhang Xian seeming unnatural, she was puzzled.

Earlier, when she was unable to sleep, she heard a scream. Thus, she bolted out to find Zhang Xian and Du Xinyan standing there looking odd.

These two people, what on earth were they doing here so late at night? Under the light, Du Xinyan’s face was flushed. Surely, they weren’t engaged in inappropriate activities?

Previously Zhang Xian and Zhu Yan had gone out, but she knew there could be nothing between them. With Zhang Xian being together with Du Xinyan now, she couldn’t be so sure.

Du Xinyan, noticing Lin Ruoyi’s strange expression, quickly clarified, "Lin Ruoyi, don’t get any weird ideas, there’s nothing going on between us."

"What weird ideas? You are clearly letting the cat out of the bag!" Lin Ruoyi glared at Zhang Xian before smirking mischievously.

"We...we truly haven’t done anything." Du Xinyan didn’t know how to explain.

She ambivalent about distancing herself from the impression of having a relationship with Zhang Xian. There were already misunderstandings up the hills and now another. How was she going to clear things up?

Zhang Xian didn’t bother to explain, why should he? To have rumors with a beauty, how delightful!

Du Xinyan saw Zhang Xian nonchalantly standing there and said irritably, "Hey, won’t you clear up our relationship?"

"Zhang Xian, what were you doing with Du Xinyan?" asked Lin Ruoyi.

Chucking cheekily, Zhang Xian replied, "Oh, nothing at all! Only, if you don’t walk away now, I might just do something. Tonight’s moonlight is quite ideal for doing...well you know."

"It’s pitch black, what’s so good about it?" huffed Lin Ruoyi, covering her chest protectively as she stormed off towards her tent.

Zhang Xian wiped his nose, lit up a cigarette, and took a deep puff. Suddenly, he turned and squinted at a certain direction, his eyebrows furrowed like sharp blades.
