Chapter 596: Chapter 615: The Feeling Is Truly Wonderful_2

"Got it, I won’t say anything." John Brown didn’t dare to voice his thoughts right now, otherwise Lucy Campbell might scold him for being shameless.

Gina Lopez returned at this moment, and with her came Emily Jenkins. This girl sometimes had no sense of presence, but as long as there was good food, her presence became particularly strong.

The meal was naturally very good. John Brown hadn’t had a proper meal at home for a few days, and tonight he even had a little drink.

After dinner, Lucy Campbell and Emily Jenkins stayed for a while longer, then both returned to their own homes. Gina Lopez checked John Brown’s leg to see that it was indeed much better before she felt relieved. But seeing the many scabs on his leg still made her heart ache.

However, Gina Lopez had a lot on her plate now, especially with the task of opening up the overseas market, so she got busy in the bedroom.

John Brown and Emily Lopez played with Little Violet for a while, then gave the little girl a bath. Finally, John Brown told Little Violet a few stories until she fell asleep.

Emily Lopez came into the living room, winked at John Brown, and said, "Brother-in-law, you’ve got nothing today, don’t you owe me a foot massage?"

The next morning, John Brown was preparing breakfast, Gina Lopez had finished getting ready and was dressing Little Violet, while Emily Lopez slipped into the kitchen, gently nudged John Brown from behind, and whispered, "Brother-in-law, you were really wild last night."

John Brown’s heart fluttered, "You could tell?"

"Of course I could. It was so big and hard, I nearly fainted. I really don’t know how my sister can handle it."

John Brown felt hot inside, and he really wanted to pick Emily Lopez up and throw her onto the bed, but he remembered Gina Lopez would soon come out, so he cleared his throat and said, "Go wash up, you have to go to work soon."

"Alright!" Emily Lopez gave John Brown a cheeky smile, reached out to pinch him between the legs, and giggled as she ran off.

"Little vixen, little vixen," John Brown grumbled to himself, but he couldn’t deny it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Arriving at the company in the morning, John Brown immediately wrote an application to purchase some equipment. Gina Lopez took this matter very seriously and entrusted John Brown with full responsibility, also asking Sarah Utah to support him no matter what.

Originally, John Brown didn’t need to go personally for the purchases, but considering the professionalism involved, he thought the security staff, who were all military men, may not be up to the task, as none of them specialized in these areas. So he decided to handle it himself.

Seeing John Brown go out personally, Sarah Utah followed along, as having the opportunity to be with John Brown alone always made her happy.

Sarah Utah didn’t understand these things at all, so she just watched John Brown make selections. Watching him being so professional made Sarah Utah feel a sense of admiration for him. John Brown was usually not very conspicuous, but once he got serious, he exuded a distinctly masculine charm.

All morning, John Brown still couldn’t find everything he needed in one place, so he had to look around YODC City in the afternoon to find the rest.

A simple lunch outside, and then they prepared to head to another security equipment store when a woman called out to Sarah Utah.

"Jessica Wilson!" Sarah Utah was surprised to see the woman.

"Sarah Utah, what are you doing here?" Jessica Wilson grabbed Sarah Utah’s hand and asked excitedly.

Sarah Utah said excitedly, "I’m here to buy some stuff. What about you? What brings you here?"

"I work here." As she said this, Jessica Wilson’s face showed a hint of sadness.

"You work here? Wasn’t your family supposed to have set up a job for you?" Sarah Utah asked in surprise.

Jessica Wilson sighed, "My family had arranged a government official position for me. Actually, it wasn’t arranged; I studied hard for it and came in second. Normally, I would have gotten the job, but then my dad got into trouble, so I got affected too and had to find a job here."

Jessica Wilson was a classmate of Sarah Utah’s in high school, and they got along well. After they were separated into different classes, they still kept in touch, but contact lessened after entering university, and they hadn’t seen each other since graduating. Jessica Wilson’s family was initially in a good position, with her father serving as a deputy director in the county. Though not high-ranking, he wielded real power. Hence, Jessica Wilson always appeared affluent, and many classmates envied her, thinking she’d surely land a good job. Unexpectedly, she ended up working for a small shop, which even Sarah Utah couldn’t compare to.

"Sarah Utah, where do you work? I haven’t seen you for a while. I also lost touch with other classmates, so I don’t know."

"I work at J Corporation."

"J Corporation, I’ve never heard of it, but working in a company as a white-collar is not bad." Jessica Wilson’s eyes showed a tinge of envy, and then she noticed John Brown and asked, "Is this your boyfriend?"

Sarah Utah blushed and glanced at John Brown, awkwardly saying, "No, he’s not."

Jessica Wilson laughed, "Oh, come on. Look at you blushing—if he’s not your boyfriend, then who is? Are you keeping it a secret from me?"

Sarah Utah hurried, "Really, he’s not. He’s a colleague from my company."

"Hehe, not now, but he will be in the future. Right, come in; let me help you. I can assure you some discounts."

John Brown and Sarah Utah went into the shop, and John Brown started picking things out while Jessica Wilson chatted with Sarah Utah. But Jessica Wilson’s face turned sour when two people entered.

"Oh, business is good, with guests here." In came a man and a woman; the woman dressed fashionably, her outfits and handbag were brand names, and she wore high heels. Her age wasn’t much different than Sarah Utah’s but she appeared rather bold and flamboyant.

With a stern look, Jessica Wilson said, "Lily Joe, what do you want this time?"

The woman, named Lily Joe, gave her waist a sassy twist, giggled, and said, "I’m not here for anything but to see if I can buy something. I’m here to give you business, and you’d earn some commission, right?"

Jessica Wilson clenched her fists, closed her eyes for a moment, then took a deep breath and asked, "What do you need?"

Lily Joe lifted her chin, "We need many things. John Stone is handling government procurement for the county, and if this shop is chosen, you’ll make a lot of money."

The shop owner, a man in his forties, hadn’t approached when John Brown and Sarah Utah were browsing, but hearing what Lily Joe said, he quickly came over with a big smile, "Sir, madam, our shop sells the latest security equipment, and many government organizations use our products."

Lily Joe chuckled lightly, "Are you the owner?"

"Yes, yes!" The owner nodded repeatedly. This could be a big deal with lucrative government purchases. If sealed, it could cover a year’s earnings.

Lily Joe glanced at Jessica Wilson and commented, "Hehe, then I have to tell you, your employees’ service attitude isn’t great, not even serving us water. Isn’t that driving us away?"

Jessica Wilson’s face changed, and the boss hurriedly said, "Jessica, quickly serve the guests some water—how can you be so rude?"
