Chapter 595: Chapter 615: The Feeling Is Truly Wonderful
Before leaving work, John Brown and Lucy Campbell left the company first. They went to the supermarket, where Lucy, with an excited face, held onto John’s arm. John pushed the shopping cart and discussed what to eat for dinner with her. To anyone watching, they would look like a young couple.
Previously, when John and Lucy were together, they were very cautious. But now, there was no awkwardness between them, and they walked naturally.
Being a smart person, Lucy was well aware of where her relationship with John had progressed. John didn’t know about her feelings for him, but neither of them pointed it out. They just pretended not to know.
Shopping like a little couple made Lucy feel great. It felt like a real life, where a couple would come home from work, buy some groceries, chat, cook together, and then express their love. If she could live such a life with John, it would truly be perfect.
Initially, when Lucy came to find John, she wanted him to help her with her business. She fully believed in his abilities. However, the more she spent time with him, the more she liked this simple life with John. So now, she had stopped thinking about making him get involved in any business or using any ways to make him more ambitious.
After they bought the groceries, they went straight back to John’s house. Emily Lopez had already picked up Little Violet, but Gina Lopez was going to be a bit late. Lucy completely agreed with her idea, and she was arranging it at the office.
Lucy took out a gift for Little Violet, making Little Violet very happy. She hugged Lucy’s neck and kissed her. Lucy laughed and said, "Little Violet is so good! Auntie will buy you gifts again when she comes next time."
Little Violet laughed happily and said in her little voice, "It’s nice now. So many aunties buy me gifts."
Lucy and Emily both looked at John, making him rub his nose and cough awkwardly. There were many women around him now, and anyone who met Little Violet would naturally want to buy something nice to please John. As a result, the one who benefited the most was Little Violet. Her room was now filled with all kinds of toys.
Emily and Lucy both had a lot of ambiguous feelings with John. But now that both of them were here, it was inconvenient to flirt with John. Even though they helped him in the kitchen, no one made any small moves.
After a while, Little Violet called for Emily, so Emily went into the bedroom. Lucy nudged John and said in a low voice, "What’s going on between you and Emily?"
"We... there’s nothing going on?" John felt guilty immediately.
"Nothing going on? The way Emily looks at you is not right. That’s clearly the gaze between lovers. How could you not even spare your sister-in-law? Aren’t you afraid Gina will find out?"
John sweated and said, "Can you really tell?" He didn’t deny it.
"Of course, I can tell. Normally, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law might tease each other, but they wouldn’t have such a look. When Emily looks at you, she’s full of affection, and her eyes reveal that there must be an excessive relationship between you two."
John cleared his throat and said, "I really don’t have an excessive relationship with her, but Emily and Gina have telepathy. Her senses are just tuned to it, so when Gina and I are intimate, she experiences it too, like it’s happening to her."
This left Lucy dumbfounded. After a long pause, she said, "There’s such an unbelievable thing?"
"Could I lie to you? This is the absolute truth."
"Wow, that’s truly troublesome. For Emily, wouldn’t that mean she already shares that kind of relationship with you? No wonder she doesn’t treat you like a normal sister-in-law would."
"Yes, if this got out, no one would believe it."
"And Gina might not be able to accept this, at least not in the short term. You should remind Emily to prevent Gina from noticing."
John nodded repeatedly, very grateful to Lucy. This woman always considered everything for him, even when it came to emotional matters.
A thought suddenly occurred to him; if Lucy managed the women in his life, she might settle everything well, and he would no longer have to worry so much.
"What are you thinking?" Lucy nudged John again, her face blushing as John kept staring at her with his glowing eyes. She thought he had something in mind for her, which startled her. In private, she hoped John would look at her like that, but in front of others, she hoped they maintained their usual relationship.
John cleared his throat and chuckled awkwardly, "Nothing, nothing."
Lucy, both embarrassed and shy, but with joy in her heart, said, "You rascal, be careful. If Gina senses something unusual between us, I’ll really have no face to meet her."
