Chapter 587: Chapter 605 Uncomfortable

When John Brown woke up, there were quite a few people in the hospital room. Gina was holding Little Violet, who had already fallen asleep in Gina’s arms. Sandra, Sunny, and Melody were sitting by the bedside, while Lucy was sitting in the chair next to them.

"Brother-in-law, you’re awake!" Sandra exclaimed joyfully, tightly grabbing John Brown’s hand.

John Brown grasped Sandra’s hand in return and said, "Did I scare you?"

Sandra’s and John Brown’s hands were tightly clasped together as she said, "You really scared me to death."

John Brown, apart from feeling a bit dizzy, didn’t really feel uncomfortable. He smiled and said, "This time I really have to thank you, Sandra. If it weren’t for you, I might not have made it this time." He faced so many dangerous things, but each time he managed to come through with his ability. However, this time, if Sandra hadn’t carried him to the hospital, he might have lost his life to this sudden illness. It seems that no matter how strong one is, these special acute illnesses can catch you off guard.

"Honey, I’m sorry for worrying you." John Brown looked apologetically at Gina.

Gina was teary-eyed and said in a choked voice, "You know, you really scared me to death. When I got Sandra’s call, my legs went soft."

John Brown held Gina’s hand with his other hand and said, "It’s okay now. This was genuinely an accident; it won’t happen again."

Melody snorted at this point and said, "This is clearly ’good people have short lives, while bad ones live for a thousand years.’ You jerk, why didn’t your illness just do you in?"

John Brown knew that Melody’s words were just a special way of expressing herself. He smiled slightly and said, "If I were really dead, wouldn’t the child in your belly be fatherless?"

Melody said angrily, "Humph, then fatherless it shall be. We can’t expect anything from you as a dad anyway."

Lucy stood at the bedside at this point; she felt most guilty. She still had too much confidence in John Brown, thinking he was so strong that even a big shark could be easily killed by him. Getting hurt like this seemed like it wouldn’t be an issue. That’s why she was careless at the time, and they partied so hard that night. John Brown getting tetanus surely had to do with that night’s drinking and fooling around; naturally, she bore all the responsibility for such a serious incident.

"James, it’s all my fault..."

John Brown immediately said, "Lucy, it was completely an accident. I’m fine now, so don’t blame yourself."

Lucy met John Brown’s gaze and gently nodded. She could understand what he was thinking through that look, and those polite words were indeed unnecessary between them. Everything was understood in that one glance.

Sunny yawned and said, "I must say, John Brown, you’re really good at causing trouble. In the middle of the night, you got everyone here. Since you’re okay now, I’m going back first."

John Brown hadn’t spent much time with Sunny lately, only occasionally exchanging a few words at the company. Their relationship seemed to have cooled considerably, partly due to other women around John Brown.

But John Brown knew this was Sunny’s way of not wanting to interfere with his and Gina’s marital relationship. Since she and Gina were good friends, maintaining that kind of relationship with John Brown would make things awkward when she was with Gina. The things Sunny said before Gina and John Brown were married were just the naive thoughts of an unmarried girl. If she took it seriously, she’d truly be a fool. So even though she missed John Brown, she never showed it in front of him.

"Sunny, thank you." For what Sunny did, John Brown felt grateful in his heart and also a bit guilty. At this point, he could only express his apologies with a simple "thank you."

"Thank me for what? It’s not like I carried you on my back to get treatment like Sandra did." Sunny chuckled and stood up, saying, "Alright, since you’re fine, I’m going home to sleep."

Lucy glanced at John Brown and said, "Let’s go together."

Melody also stood up and said, "Alright, I’m not staying here either. I’ve had plenty of sleep lately, and if I don’t sleep now, I won’t be able to hold on."

"Sister, you should go back too. Emily has to go to kindergarten tomorrow. I’ll be fine here," Sandra immediately said.

Gina hesitated for a moment. Among these people, besides herself, the most suitable to take care of John Brown were Melody and Sunny. With Melody being pregnant and Sunny keeping her distance now, even asking them to take care of him made Gina feel slightly uneasy. Sandra might be a better fit anyway.

Of course, it was most appropriate for her to be there, but she had an important meeting the next morning and needed to go home and prepare. She finally said, "Alright, you stay here then. Honey, we’re all leaving, okay?"

John Brown smiled and said, "No worries, I could actually be discharged now."

"What do you mean discharge? You’re staying here until the doctor says you can be discharged." Gina rolled her eyes.

John Brown chuckled awkwardly and said, "Alright, alright, I won’t leave." When the wife stands firm, you’ve got to give in.

After everyone left together, Sandra saw them off and then returned to the room. It was an advanced hospital room, complete with a patient’s bed, a caregiver’s bed, a sofa, a television, and a bathroom. Living here with Sandra wasn’t all that uncomfortable for John Brown either.

"Brother-in-law, do you want to sleep a bit more?" Sandra sat next to John Brown and stared at him.

John Brown shook his head and said, "I’ve already slept so much at home today, and after being unconscious I kept sleeping. I’m really not tired anymore."

"Then you must be hungry. You haven’t had dinner yet. What would you like to eat? I’ll get it for you."

John Brown did feel a bit hungry at this point and said, "I really do feel like eating something. Isn’t there fruit over there? I can just eat some fruit."

"You don’t want a meal? I can go and get it for you."

"No need, some fruit will be good."

Sandra immediately went over, washed an apple for John Brown, peeled it, and fed him piece by piece using a fruit knife.

Sandra said, "Sandra, it’s okay, give it to me, I can just bite into it myself. You’ve worked so hard today, you should take a break."

"No worries, I was only tired carrying you here. I’m fine now. Don’t forget, I practice dancing, my stamina is much better than my sister’s."

John Brown couldn’t refuse Sandra, so he let her feed him.

After eating an apple, John Brown felt much better, but then he couldn’t help the urge to urinate. During this coma, who knows how much saline solution he received. His hand still had a needle dripping in fluids, and after eating an apple, naturally his body had more liquid.

Seeing John Brown trying to sit up, Sandra hurriedly supported him and asked, "Brother-in-law, what are you doing?"

"I need to use the restroom." John Brown didn’t hesitate to say this in front of his sister-in-law, as usually everyone lived under one roof, shared a bathroom, and ran into each other by the restroom door, which was normal.

"Oh, let me help you." Sandra immediately removed the IV bottle and held it high, while supporting John Brown’s arm with her other hand.

John Brown laughed and said, "Sandra, I’m not that weak, needing you to help me walk."

"I must help you; you scared me today." Sandra pouted.

John Brown had no choice but to let Sandra help him into the restroom, but standing in front of the toilet, he said to Sandra, "Alright, go out now."

"Why should I go out? If I do, how will you manage?" Sandra frowned at him.

John Brown awkwardly smiled and said, "Sandra, I need to go; with you here, it really..."

"What’s wrong? You’re a patient now, and I’m just taking care of you. Besides, what’s there to fear if I see? Even though I haven’t touched inside, I’ve touched the outside, so what’s there to be embarrassed about?"

John Brown was speechless by Sandra’s straightforwardness.

"Hurry up, otherwise if you wet your pants, I’ll have to wash them for you. Hold the bottle yourself; I’ll help you take off your pants." Sandra suggested.

"No, no! Sandra, I’m begging you, just go out. I really can manage on my own. With you here, I’m afraid... I won’t be able to pee."

"If you can’t pee, it means you have all sorts of thoughts running in your mind, like wanting to do something to me. Brother-in-law, you’re sick; you can’t have those thoughts. Besides, I’m your sister-in-law. It’s fine for you to take advantage usually, but how can you have these thoughts about me now?"

John Brown rolled his eyes at Sandra’s words, feeling like if he didn’t pull down his pants to urinate, it’d seem like he had dirty thoughts. He’d had plenty of ambiguous moments with this sister-in-law, kissed her, touched her. So, he might as well. Standing there, he pulled the waist of his pants and took out his thing.

After taking it out, he instinctively glanced at Sandra, who was looking right at him. Realizing he was looking at her, a flush crept up her face, "You naughty brother-in-law, just pee already. Why are you looking at me?"

John Brown chuckled dryly and turned to look at the toilet, but suddenly found he couldn’t pee.

Humans share the same channel for urine and certain other activities, so when thinking about sexual matters, the urinary route naturally closes. With Sandra, a beautiful woman and his sister-in-law, with whom he’d had countless ambiguous moments, he instinctively had some thoughts, making it difficult to pee.
