Chapter 477: Chapter 487: You Can’t, But I Can

Martin Miller sneered and said, "William Goodman, bring it on if you can. If I’m afraid of you, I’ll write ’Martin’ backwards."

William Goodman’s expression grew colder as he leaned closer to Martin Miller and said sinisterly, "You’re right; you’re not afraid to die, I believe that. But some people are afraid of dying, like older people or very young ones. I seem to remember you have a sister, and I’m really curious to taste her." As he spoke, William Goodman stuck out his tongue and licked his lips, looking at Martin Miller with a contemptuous gaze.

Martin Miller’s face changed instantly as he grabbed William Goodman’s collar and angrily said, "You dare!"

"Do you think I dare or not?" William Goodman raised his hands, smiling as he looked at Martin Miller.

Martin Miller was so furious his face turned blue, and he was about to throw a punch at Martin, but Martin didn’t even flinch, still smiling as he looked at Martin Miller. James Brown darted forward and grabbed Martin Miller’s wrist.

"Boss!" Martin Miller turned to look at James Brown, his fist clenched so tight it made cracking noises; only James Brown could stop him, no one else could.

"Don’t act rashly; if you do this, you’ll be expelled immediately." James Brown pointed at a person hiding at the back, holding a phone and recording.

There are some rules in Hawk Squad. During training, turning the opponent into a punching bag is no problem, but outside, private fights are strictly forbidden, and once discovered, you’ll surely be expelled.

Although Martin Miller is currently the number two in Hawk Squad, his powers have been greatly diminished lately. Plus, the current number one wants to push him out too. If the video of Martin Miller hitting someone goes back, he’ll surely get expelled.

When Martin hit William Goodman earlier, it happened too unexpectedly, so there wasn’t time to record it. Now, people are ready, just waiting for Martin Miller to lose his temper.

William Goodman provocatively looked at Martin Miller and said, "What now? Don’t have the guts? Haven’t you always believed that a strong fist is enough? If you’ve got balls, try hitting me again."

Martin Miller glared at William Goodman hatefully, slowly releasing his grip. If he really hit this guy here, he’d definitely be expelled from Hawk Squad, and for someone in Hawk Squad, being expelled is worse than being killed.

William Goodman straightened his collar, looked at Martin Miller, and said, "Oh, backing down already? You call yourself the squad leader. Haha, but considering you’ve shown some sense, when I play with your sister, I’ll bring no more than two people, won’t bring too many, so your sister can handle it."

"Damn it!"

"William Goodman, you bastard!"

"Are you even a man?"

A group of Hawk Squad members started cursing. William Goodman was indeed despicable. Not only did he enrage Martin Miller, but he also infuriated them, making their lungs want to explode. Each one of them wanted to charge over and beat William Goodman up.

James Brown spread his arms to block them, shouting loudly, "Stop it, all of you."

"Boss! Let us beat this kid up; even if we’re expelled, I want to thrash him." David Bailey shouted angrily.

Another squad member yelled, "Exactly, Boss, don’t hold us back. I’d rather leave the squad than swallow this humiliation. I have to hit him, no matter what."

William Goodman took a step back. Although this was what he wanted to see, now the mood was furious. If he were beaten by these guys, he might even lose his life.

"All of you, shut up!" James Brown suddenly shouted.

All the squad members quieted down instantly. James Brown had always been the captain they respected the most, and even though their hearts were still indignant, they stopped.

William Goodman saw James Brown had calmed these impulsive guys down and felt a bit disappointed but secretly breathed a sigh of relief, laughed, and said, "Old Captain, looks like you do have some authority; one sentence and everyone is calmed."

At this moment, James Brown’s expression was very calm as he looked at William Goodman without speaking.

William Goodman chuckled and said, "Old Captain, I’ve been around since your time, so I should give you some face. But this guy seduced my fiancée, so I must screw him over, and this face I cannot give you."

Evelyn Wilson angrily said, "William Goodman, haven’t you had enough? Do you really think this is fun?"

William Goodman laughed heartily, but his laughter abruptly stopped as he spoke with a sinister tone, "Of course it’s fun. Whoever I, William Goodman, set my sights on, no one else can touch. I’ll deal with him and his family; I won’t spare a single one."

Martin Miller’s body shuddered once again, but James Brown placed his hand on his shoulder, giving him a slight smile. Martin met James Brown’s gaze, took a deep breath, and nodded. He had complete trust in James and understood that acting impulsively now would do him no good.

William Goodman was irritated seeing that despite his provocations, Martin Miller still hadn’t retaliated. His words became even more cutting. "Martin Miller, are you even a man? With such little courage, weren’t you interested in my fiancée? In front of women, you become a cowardly wimp. You think you can pursue my fiancée? You’re like a toad lusting after swan meat. Haha, maybe after I’ve had my fun with your sister, you can have your turn. Perhaps then you’d have the guts to make a move on her."

"Boss, don’t stop me, I want to kill him!" David Bailey, with veins bulging on his forehead, pleaded with James Brown from behind.

"Yeah, boss, don’t hold us back. We can’t take this lying down."

James Brown turned around, looked at his former comrades, and smiled slightly, "Have you thought about it? If you act impulsively, you’ll definitely be kicked out of the squad."

"Boss, I’d rather leave the squad. Even if it means becoming an ordinary person, I don’t want to put up with him!"

"Boss, if it comes to it, I’ll stick with you. Staying in a squad like this is meaningless."

Everyone clamored loudly, thinking about dealing with William Goodman and his ilk. James Brown’s face hardened, "If you beat this guy up, imagine what the squad would become if such people took over. Have you thought about it? Do you really want to watch as the once-glorious squad gets ruined by our generation?"

The crowd fell silent. The Hawk Squad had always been their pride. Every member was proud to be part of it. If the Hawk Squad was destroyed by their hands, they’d be eternal sinners, unable to face the squad’s predecessors even in death.

James suddenly shouted, "Remember, you are members of the squad, and the squad is your honor. No one can destroy your squad!"

His words energized everyone, and all the members, including Martin, stood up straight, ready for action.

James Brown nodded in satisfaction, "Good. You’ve done well, but no one should think they can bully our brothers at will either."

Their eyes lit up. If James said that, it meant he was about to deal with them. Everyone knew this clearly, but how he would do it in such a situation was a mystery, and they were all filled with anticipation.

"You are squad members, but I’m not. You can’t hit a teammate, but I can hit whoever I dislike. The grievances you’ve suffered today, I’ll take care of them for you."

As James finished speaking, he moved like a hunting leopard, swiftly turning and charging towards William Goodman.

William sensed James’s intention to act and quickly stepped back. If it were another squad member doing this, there might be room for negotiation. However, James’s skills far surpassed the genuine squad members. His reaction speed was lacking, and just as he moved, James collided with his chest.

William felt as if he’d been hit by a tank, his feet involuntarily left the ground, and he flew like a projectile. Only in mid-air did he realize the sharp pain in his chest, as a mouthful of blood spewed from his mouth.

But James did not stop. With a kick, he leapt towards the airborne William, delivering a series of crisp slaps. The sound continued until William fell to the ground.

Not done with William, James dashed into the crowd William brought, punching and kicking without missing a beat. In a blink, the other six were all knocked to the ground by James.

"You... you..." William’s face was swollen like a bun, resembling a pig’s head, as he spat out blood again, pointing his trembling finger at James. He hadn’t expected James, who repressed the Hawk Squad members for so long, to finally make a move himself.

"You scum went through the trouble of entering the squad just to throw your weight around. Today, I beat you up. Let’s see what you can do about it."

William’s finger pointed at James, his anger causing him to lose consciousness as he slumped to the ground.

Martin and the others cheered, surrounding James. Today, James had let them vent their anger. The old squad leader was still as domineering as ever. Seeing their opponents’ miserable states was incredibly satisfying.

However, Martin was somewhat worried. James was no longer part of the Hawk Squad, and having assaulted William and his company might bring even more trouble.
