James and the others had already gotten into the car by this time, with Gina driving. James helped Emily Lopez into the back, and whether she was truly drunk or just pretending, she suddenly pulled James to the back with her.

Suddenly feeling a rush of warmth in his palm, James’s thoughts snapped back to reality. First thing he saw was Gina glaring fiercely at him through the rearview mirror. He looked down and immediately felt embarrassed; his hand had moved from Emily Lopez’s forehead to her cheek.

Emily Lopez must have been pretending to sleep, otherwise her breath wouldn’t be so heated.

Hurriedly moving his hand back to Emily Lopez’s forehead, he awkwardly said, "I was just thinking about some other things."

Gina, who was also proficient in psychology, noticed when James’s hand moved to her sister’s face, his gaze seemed blurry as if engrossed in thoughts. Although she felt uncomfortable, she didn’t blame James and chided, "We’re home now, get off the car."

Normally, she would work on her laptop before sleeping, but today she had no mind for it and directly went to bed, somewhat unable to meet James’s eyes.
