The Supreme Soldier in the City -
Chapter 354 - 361: Dry Heaving
Chapter 354: Chapter 361: Dry Heaving
James laughed and said, "After all, I served as a soldier in the Capital of SSUP, and I’ve heard about family affairs occasionally, but I never expected your family background to be so strong, Melody."
James’s explanation was easily accepted by Melody Yoody, who replied, "I didn’t tell you before because I was afraid it would pressure you. I originally wanted you to make some achievements in the Political Circle so that we wouldn’t have so much pressure being together. Seeing that you’re not interested in holding an office, I won’t force you."
"Thank you for not pushing me; otherwise, I would have suffocated."
Melody Yoody gave James a look and said, "And you still can laugh? Now I’m the one who’s worried to death."
"Don’t worry, I’m just a small figure, and they might not even take me seriously. To fight with me would be beneath their status."
"That’s actually quite possible. These aristocratic families are prouder one than the other; in their hearts, they are like the nobles from the J Region, who don’t take ordinary people seriously at all, hehe, not that I’m looking down on you."
James laughed and said, "Of course, I know. Melody, if you looked down on me, you wouldn’t have bothered with me in the past. Shall we go have lamb soup again today?"
"Sure, I haven’t been there for a long time. How about we go to the same place we used to eat?"
"Is that place still there?"
"It’s still there, that place is a longstanding establishment, and the business is booming now."
Upon hearing this, James was quite excited. There used to be a lamb soup bistro near their high school, and they both liked to go there to have lamb soup. The lamb soup was inexpensive; back then, it was only a Few Dollars a bowl. Each of them would have a steaming bowl of lamb soup, plus two steamed rolls, and would enjoy a good meal.
In fact, Melody Yoody had a lot of pocket money back then, but she never showed any superiority in front of James. Moreover, she often let James pay, which he would jokingly complain about her being stingy, but deep down, he was quite proud and pleased.
The two arrived at the place called Three Star Bistro. The original low flat house was gone, replaced by a shop under an apartment complex, spanning two floors and a total of more than 300 square meters, with two beautiful hostesses at the door. The lamb soup bistro had really changed.
It was mealtime, and they originally wanted to find a private room, but there was none available. Instead, they found a spot in the main hall on the first floor and sat down.
This time, besides ordering lamb soup and steamed rolls, they also ordered lamb blood and spicy fried lamb ribs, then waited for the dishes to come.
Melody Yoody took out a tissue from her bag to wipe their plates and chopsticks and said with a smile, "Hehe, it’s good we didn’t go to the private room. Here, it feels more like the old days when we used to eat amidst the hustle and bustle."
James nodded and said, "Exactly, this kind of atmosphere makes the food taste better. If it were just the two of us, we probably wouldn’t be able to savor that same flavor."
Soon, their order was brought out. They didn’t order alcohol, just chewing on steamed rolls and drinking lamb soup, seemingly transported back to their high school days.
Although the air conditioning was on in the lamb soup bistro, the soup was very hot. Adding some chili oil, they soon started sweating profusely, but they kept eating and wiping sweat without stopping.
Everyone else in the main hall was more or less doing the same thing. Lamb soup is meant to be enjoyed in the summer to get this kind of atmosphere; in the winter, few people liked to drink it.
After their fill, they left the bistro. Getting into the car, Melody Yoody patted her belly and said, "I’m so stuffed. I’ve been eating more and more lately, I hope I won’t gain weight."
James laughed and said, "You have such a good figure; even if you gain a bit, it won’t matter."
Melody Yoody looked at James flirtatiously and asked, "Really? You think I have a good figure?"
"Of course, Melody has always had a great figure," James said with a grin.
"Hmph, what’s the use of a good figure? I’m not that young girl anymore. Someone has already lost interest," Melody said.
James chuckled and replied, "It’s not that I’ve lost interest; it’s more about a new charm."
"You’ve got good taste. Now, there’s still an hour before I have to go to work. Where shall we go?" Melody asked.
James’s heart fluttered, and he was momentarily pulled back to their high school days. After eating, they always had about an hour, a time they often spent finding a quiet place for intimacy.
Although James came to see Melody Yoody with mixed feelings this time, the numerous memories made him temporarily forget that he was married. All he could see was Melody Yoody.
"How about... we find a hotel and get a room?" James asked with a smile.
"Getting a room might be a bit of a waste of time, right? How about... we do it in the car?"
"In the car..." James’s eyes widened, and then he laughed and said, "Melody, you’re still as bold as you were."
Melody Yoody had such a personality, bold in her actions, never hiding anything in front of James.
"But doing it in the car in broad daylight, isn’t it easy to attract onlookers?" James asked with a smile.
"I know a place, very secluded, no one will bother us there, and it’s not far from here. Let’s go, quickly." Melody Yoody urged James Brown with an eagerness.
Under Melody Yoody’s direction, in less than ten minutes, James Brown drove the car into an alley between two factories. The alley was a dead-end and overgrown with weeds; it was obvious that hardly anyone came by. Moreover, to enter this alley, one had to make several turns, so there was little chance anyone knew about it.
"How do you know of such a place?" James Brown asked, somewhat puzzled.
"These two factories used to belong to my family. They have ceased production due to poor management. This place is absolutely quiet," Melody Yoody said as she reclined the seat back, turning it into a makeshift single bed.
With Melody Yoody being so proactive, how could James Brown keep up any pretence of reserve? Twisting his body, he was already on top of Melody, and without exchanging another word, had already kissed her.
Melody Yoody’s arms immediately wrapped around James Brown, kissing him back with passion.
Last time James Brown and Melody Yoody were in a hotel room, although they had done the same thing, both were quite drunk at the time, and their minds weren’t as clear. Now they were completely sober, it felt like it had been seven or eight years since they last did this, and the passion was indescribable.
That was also a major reason Melody Yoody cast aside her reserve and became so boldly active.
However, since they both had to work in the afternoon, Melody Yoody pushed James Brown away after kissing for a while and took off her clothes properly, fearing that their emotions might lead to ripped garments.
James Brown gazed at the perfect body in front of him, his breathing suddenly becoming ragged. Melody had become plumper than in high school, but not fat. Instead, it was the kind of fullness that comes with a woman’s maturity. Her breasts were fuller, her hips fleshier, yet her waist remained as slender as ever. With such a woman before him, how could he restrain himself?
The red Porsche shook violently, eventually coming to a gradual halt.
After a while, the car slowly left the alley. Inside, James Brown and Melody Yoody had dressed, but Melody’s face was still flushed, her eyes squinted, looking utterly enraptured.
"Ugh!" Melody Yoody suddenly turned pale and retched.
James Brown quickly asked, "What’s wrong, is your stomach upset?"
"Hmm, a little bit."
"Do you want to go to the hospital?"
"It’s nothing, my stomach hasn’t been great lately."
"You should be careful then, try to drink less."
Melody Yoody sighed, "I wish I could, but there are just too many banquets in the political circle, and most of the time I can’t refuse without standing out."
"What’s the good in being an official? You become Mayor, but above you is the County Chief, and if you become the County Chief, there’s the City Chief. Even if you were City Chief, there’s still the Governor above you. There’s always someone over you; you’re always trying to please someone else."
Melody Yoody chuckled lightly, "In a lifetime, whether you’re an official or a businessperson, or even just an ordinary person, isn’t there always someone in charge? Don’t you always have to please others? You get used to it, ugh..."
James Brown frowned again and sighed, "You’re retching like this; I thought maybe you got pregnant from what we did just now."
Melody Yoody laughed lightly, "What nonsense are you talking about, how could there be a reaction just after we’ve done it?" As she spoke, Melody Yoody’s complexion changed. It had been almost a month since the last time she and James Brown had been together, and during this past month, her menstruation seemed to have never come.
Melody Yoody, usually busy, didn’t pay much attention to when she had her period and did not remember the dates. Whether it was time for her menstruation or not, she wasn’t sure.
James Brown said, "No joking, let’s go to the hospital to check it out. Persistent retching isn’t good, and illnesses should be treated while they are still minor."
Melody Yoody felt an inexplicable panic, "No need, I’ve got work this afternoon."
James Brown glared, "What’s more important, work or your health? Work belongs to the state, your body is your own, which is more important?"
You... which do you think is more important?" Melody Yoody was left with mixed feelings of laughter and tears by James Brown’s words.
"Obviously, oneself is more important. Even if you love your country, if you don’t take care of your own health, how can you love your country? So don’t say anything now, we are going for a medical check-up."
"Alright, alright, let’s get checked. But I am telling you, if they make me do a gastroscopy, I refuse to do it."
James Brown knew a gastroscopy was an ordeal, so he said, "We’re just going for a look, a simple check-up, no need to necessarily get a gastroscopy."
Melody Yoody finally agreed, and they quickly arrived at the hospital. After explaining the situation, the doctor immediately prescribed a few tests, including a urine test.
And after all these tests were completed, before the results were even out, James Brown was called away by a phone call, leaving Melody Yoody alone to wait for the results.
