Emily Lopez was lying in bed, anxiously waiting, but after a good half an hour, there was still no noise from the room next door.

"What’s going on, what are those two up to? Why aren’t they getting cozy yet?" she muttered softly to herself and then rolled over, talking to herself: "I get it, they must be worried I’ll hear them, so they’re still holding back. I wonder how long you guys can bear it, hehe."

After waiting a bit more and still no reaction from next door, Emily Lopez was starting to get impatient and said with an irritated tone: "That dumb brother-in-law, you’re a man, aren’t you? How can you still not take the initiative at this time? You’ve already done that with my sister, what are you afraid of now?"

Thinking of this, Emily Lopez couldn’t help but smirk mischievously. That night’s incident was entirely her masterpiece, and every time she thought about it, she couldn’t contain her excitement. What she was looking forward to the most now was the moment when James Brown and Gina Lopez would get intimate; that would be even more thrilling. She had been waiting so long because she didn’t want to miss such a good show.

But Emily Lopez ended up waiting so long she didn’t even realize when she fell asleep, and she heard no sound from next door.

At the crack of dawn, the first ray of sunlight shone through the curtain onto the large bed, and Gina Lopez opened her eyes. She had an uneasy sleep that night, partly worried about James Brown touching her unexpectedly, and partly because their relationship changed, she didn’t know what to think.

Now that the sunlight appeared, she woke up immediately and her first reaction was to look at James Brown. She saw him lying on his back, his pajama top rolled up to his chest, exposing a small area of his lower abdomen and a patch of dark belly hair, looking very soundly asleep.

This made Gina Lopez breathe a sigh of relief, but then she felt a bit upset again. Now that they were not pretending to be a couple like before, why was he still sleeping so comfortably? Did she really hold no allure for him?

However... the guy was really quite strong; above his abdomen were six-pack abs, something she had never noticed before.

Gina Lopez’s face suddenly flushed, she was now starting to notice James Brown’s body and hurriedly shifted her gaze away.

But for some reason, she couldn’t help but look back at James Brown again, scrutinizing him from head to toe. She suddenly felt that James Brown, from a physical perspective, indeed had a very masculine charm, strong but not bulky, with arms that weren’t overly thick but every muscle seemed to burst with explosive power – just like when her girlfriends discussed what kind of man was best.

Quietly cursing herself, Gina Lopez carefully sat up, then tiptoed out of the bedroom, freshened up, and realized it was only six o’clock. Summer dawn arrived early; the sun was already up before four thirty.

By then, Gina Lopez was no longer sleepy. She thought of getting her laptop to work, but hesitated for a moment, then quietly changed her clothes and left the house.

When James Brown woke up and found Gina Lopez was not in bed, he went to wash up and smelled something nice coming from the kitchen, making him quite surprised. After washing up, he peeked into the kitchen and saw Gina Lopez arranging dumplings on a plate.

"You actually went out to buy breakfast?" James Brown said with surprise.

Gina Lopez smiled graciously, "Yes, I saw you sleeping soundly, so I went out to buy breakfast. I can’t keep relying solely on you anymore." When she went out for breakfast in the morning, she passed by the community park, greeted some elders doing morning exercises, and felt her mood lift. Now that it wasn’t night, she felt she could face James Brown more openly.

"That’s really nice, now I get to eat ready-made food too." James Brown felt Gina Lopez’s ease and relaxed a lot himself.

Gina Lopez smiled again, "Go wake Emily for breakfast, she also has work today."

James Brown agreed and went to knock on Emily Lopez’s room door, calling out, "Emily, time for breakfast."

But there was no response from the room. After calling a few more times, Emily Lopez finally responded vaguely.

When Emily Lopez came out, James Brown and Gina Lopez were both surprised to see her, with her eyes slightly red and dark circles under them, clearly showing she had not slept well.

"Emily, what’s wrong with you? Did you sleep poorly last night?" James Brown asked first.

"Ha..." Emily Lopez yawned long and tiredly, smacked her lips and respond, "Yes, I went to bed late last night."

"Why did you go to bed so late? Don’t you know you have work today?" Gina Lopez frowned.

Emily Lopez pouted and said, "It’s because of you guys."

"Because of us?" Gina Lopez’s face reddened, but then she immediately said, "What nonsense, we didn’t make any noise last night, how could we have bothered you?"

Emily Lopez muttered, "It’s precisely because you made no noise that I couldn’t sleep well."

"If we don’t make a sound, you can’t sleep well... Are you just waiting to hear something?" Gina Lopez was both angry and embarrassed, but she was sure that this was indeed the case.

Emily Lopez giggled and said, "Is that not allowed?"

At this, James Brown and Gina Lopez darkened their faces, and Gina wanted to say something more, but James quickly said, "Let’s just eat."

Gina glared at Emily, not saying more, but she was still puzzled in her heart. The soundproofing of this house wasn’t great. When Sunny Nguyen and James were doing ’that thing’ here, she could hear them. If she and James did something now, Emily would surely hear it too.

Thinking about doing ’that thing’ with James while her sister was listening next door made Gina feel indescribably awkward. It seemed that upon returning, they really needed to switch to a house with better soundproofing.

"Oh no, why am I still thinking about doing that thing with him?" Gina suddenly thought about this, her face flushing even redder.

Emily sneakily glanced at James and Gina. Seeing Gina’s expression, a mischievous smile appeared on her lips. However, she did not tease her sister. Compared to that matter, nothing else seemed worth looking forward to now.

After finishing their meal, James Brown and Gina Lopez drove to work separately, and Emily right away opened James’s car door.

"You ride in my car." Gina immediately called Emily.

"I don’t want to ride in your car. A broken Mercedes is no fun at all; riding in my brother-in-law’s Porsche is way cooler." She said, already sitting in James’s car and then firmly shut the door.

Gina felt helpless about her sister and told James, "After you drop Emily off, come straight back to the company. There’s a lot to handle at the office today."

James nodded his head and started the car, driving out of the underground parking garage.

"Brother-in-law, sigh..." Emily sighed.

"What are you sighing about?" James asked without turning his head to look at Emily.

"I mean, you said you wanted to make things work with my sister, right? So how come you don’t even touch her? Do you know there’s a term called ’domestic cold violence’, and in a marriage, not even touching your spouse is a form of it—it’s quite cruel, you know?"

Sweating internally, James acknowledged that Emily was really good at making big accusations. However, he also realized that although affection was important in a marriage, sex life was also absolutely indispensable and a very significant component. If there was discord in this aspect, it could lead to emotional rifts between spouses.

But, his current interactions with Gina just felt awkward.

At this point, Emily said again, "Look, brother-in-law, as a man, you need to be decisive. If you want to be with my sister, then commit to being with her. If not, then cleanly break up and don’t make it seem like a cold war. It’s awkward just watching it."

James gave a dry laugh, but he found Emily’s words reasonable and admitted, "You’re right, I shouldn’t be like this."

"That’s more like it." Emily excitedly clapped her hands, her eyes gleaming as she said, "I tell you, our house’s soundproofing isn’t great. Whatever you guys do, I can hear a bit of it. Don’t think you can fool me. And besides, I have the Presidential Pardon from our mom to monitor you guys; that’s my right. If you have a problem with that, you can go argue with my mom."

"How about we do it in front of you then?" James said, both annoyed and amused.

Emily’s face turned red, but she lifted her chin and said, "If you guys don’t mind, I don’t have any problems either."

James immediately backed down, coughing several times, making Emily burst into delighted laughter. Now, the car had reached her workplace, and she patted James on the shoulder, smiling warmly, "Brother-in-law, I have high hopes for you. Do your best."

Watching his sister-in-law step lightly into the building, James couldn’t help but smile. Being with this sister-in-law was really relaxing, completely without the pressure he felt when he was with Gina, to the point that even such words could be spoken openly.

Back at the company, James got out of the car and walked towards the building. Ahead of him, there was a man wearing a white shirt and black trousers. As the manager of the HR department of the company, James immediately recognized that this man wasn’t an employee. At their company, there was an elevator that most people didn’t use for commuting, only during other times. That’s when James and the man entered the elevator together.

James pressed the button for the fourth floor, while the man directly pressed for the sixth floor. The sixth floor housed the general manager Gina Lopez and finance director Sunny Nguyen, as well as the finance department and the office. Given how sharply dressed this man was, although only around thirty, he already appeared successful, and James intuitively felt that this man must be here to see Gina Lopez.
