The Supreme Soldier in the City
Chapter 350 - 357: Go Ask Her

Chapter 350: Chapter 357: Go Ask Her

Helen Wilson felt her body sway the moment James Brown left; the pressure the Mysterious Figure exerted on her was just too immense. She had interacted with the Mysterious Figure twice before and felt that he was quite good to her, always helping her, so she didn’t have any real fear of this Mysterious Figure. In fact, she harbored a strange fondness for him.

But this time, during her longest encounter with the Mysterious Figure yet, she truly sensed the pressure emanating from him. It was bearable during their Special Ability Training, but later, when she was negotiating terms with him, she really had to force herself to hold on.

Sitting on the sofa, Helen Wilson was unsure if she should feel relieved or disappointed. In the end, the Mysterious Figure didn’t demand to sleep with her, which was a relief to Helen. However, he also did not agree to protect James Brown, which greatly disappointed her. The youngster might have some Martial Arts Skills, but she feared he wouldn’t be able to protect himself when facing unscrupulous vengeance. This filled Helen with immense concern.

Before, Helen had thought the Mysterious Figure was exactly the type of man she liked, but after becoming involved with James Brown, she felt that the Mysterious Figure was too distant, and James Brown, who usually seemed a bit repulsive, felt much more real to her. That’s why her heart inevitably leaned towards James.

As her thoughts slowly calmed down, Helen suddenly felt something wasn’t quite right. The Mysterious Figure made a special trip to teach her Martial Arts Skills, clearly to help her—his intentions were obviously good-hearted. And yet, he later made such an excessive request. How could this make sense coming from the Mysterious Figure?

"Ah, could he be testing me?" A thought suddenly struck Helen, growing more persistent by the second. The Mysterious Figure was so powerful, he could easily have any woman he wanted. Why would he go out of his way to threaten her?

With this thought, Helen suddenly grew excited. She firmly believed that since she had requested the Mysterious Figure to protect James Brown, he would certainly help. If it weren’t for her own parents, she would really begin to wonder if she had some special heritage that meant the Mysterious Figure was sent to protect her.

Of course, James Brown would never use the identity of the Mysterious Figure to claim Helen Wilson’s body. After she said that to him, he laughed loud and clear, and then quickly left Helen’s home. Feeling guilty about the joke, he thought he had no face to appear before Helen again as this Mysterious Figure.

Unless there was no other way, James Brown did not want to continue using that identity to help Helen.

Not long after he left, his phone rang with a call from Helen. James casually answered with a laugh, "What’s up? Missing me that much to call me so late at night?"

Helen snorted at James Brown, but she was in a good mood and said, "I do miss you. Come over."

"Really?" James Brown asked with a smile, knowing that Helen would be busy with her Special Ability Training tonight and unlikely to be looking for him.

"Hmph, how good do you think you are? Don’t flatter yourself so much. I’m telling you, I’ve found someone powerful to protect you, so you can rest easy during this time."

"That’s the Mysterious Figure you mentioned, right? I mean, with how much he’s helping you, he doesn’t have an ulterior motive towards you, does he?"

"Hmph, judging others by your own base standards. Do you think everyone is as shameless as you?"

"Then why don’t I feel it?"

"Nonsense, if you could see him so easily, would he still be a Mysterious Figure? But make sure you behave these days, okay? I’ve already said you’re my man. If I catch you messing around, he’ll get angry and might just slap you to death, and I won’t care."

"Ah!" James Brown feigned a startled cry.

"What are you yelling for? I went to great lengths to get him to protect you; don’t be ungrateful."

"You didn’t... offer yourself to him, did you?" James Brown said with a sly smile on his face.

"Hmph, do you think everyone is as shameless as you? And, you idiot, what do you take me, Helen Wilson, for?"

"Oh, of course, not you. You’re only easy with me," James Brown laughed dryly, feeling even guiltier about teasing Helen Wilson before.

"All right, let’s stop there. She taught me plenty, and I need to study it well. Hmph, if you dare be dishonest with me again, watch how I beat you black and blue," Helen said and hung up, her mind at ease regarding James’s situation, allowing her to focus entirely on what the Mysterious Figure had taught her. The more she studied, the more alarmed she was, realizing that there were so many methods of committing crimes, especially killing, that are nearly impossible to defend against. If it weren’t for the Mysterious Figure teaching her, she wouldn’t even know how she died if she encountered such scenarios.

Meanwhile, James Brown had arrived at Sunny Nguyen’s home, where she was wearing a thin nightgown revealing her smooth legs, with glimpses of her figure barely concealed under the fabric. The shape of her chest was clearly visible. The sight made James’s heart race, and as soon as he entered the door, he closed it and immediately embraced Sunny in his arms, his hands caressing her body.

Sunny wrapped her arms around James’s neck and offered him a passionate kiss. Though she invited James over at Gina Lopez’s behest, she herself was very excited. Before he arrived, she went out of her way to set up a romantic night, sprinkling on the perfume James liked most and taking a good bath, then slipping into the seductive nightgown.

Sunny was extraordinarily enthusiastic that night, frolicking with James in bed, reaching the heights of pleasure time and again.

The two finally settled down, James holding Sunny, chuckled, "Sunny, you were especially passionate today."

With a seductive smile, Sunny responded, "Well, yes, having an affair with a good friend’s husband is quite thrilling."

James laughed heartily, "Is that so?"

Sunny Nguyen deftly manipulated James Brown’s softened member, her eyes smiling, "It seems true. When I was with you before, my heart had no other thoughts, just happiness. But now you are Gina’s husband, and me sleeping with you should be a bad thing, right? Yet, Gina knows about it and she agreed to it. This feeling, it’s hard to describe, it’s just... thrilling. And you, sleeping with your wife’s good friend, do you feel anything special?"

James Brown shook his head and said, "Not really, mainly because I still don’t have... that feeling of having a wife."

Sunny Nguyen chuckled and asked, "So you’re still going to live with Gina? Is it just because you’ve been intimate with her?"

James Brown lit a cigarette and said, "Honestly, I don’t know what I was thinking at the time. Being with her was one reason, and her parents being good to me was another. They gave me a feeling of home I hadn’t had in a long time. Seeing that expectant look in her parents’ eyes, knowing how earnestly they were trying, I really couldn’t bring myself to say I wanted to divorce Gina."

"But... this is about marriage, you can’t be emotional about it, you are going to spend a lifetime with Gina. If you don’t love her, wouldn’t the two of you be miserable together?"

James Brown cracked a slight smile and said, "Love is what you talk about before marriage. After you get married, is there really that much love? Isn’t it mostly about kinship?"

Sunny Nguyen, having been married herself, naturally understood this situation as well. Her ex-husband had been indescribably good to her, but after getting married, it was no longer about love. Practical life was what mattered most.

"So you’re sure you want to spend a lifetime with Gina?" Sunny Nguyen peered into James Brown’s eyes.

James Brown took a breath and said, "Yes, I’ve decided."

"What about that little girlfriend of yours?"

James Brown took another drag and said, "Emma doesn’t demand much, I’ve already told her about marrying Gina."

"So she wasn’t angry? Didn’t want to leave you?"

"No, Emma is too kind. She never wants to put me in a difficult position, but I feel very sorry for her."

"So what do you plan to do about her?"

He chuckled, "I will take care of her for the rest of her life."

"Tsk, you men are all the same, wanting to keep what’s in the bowl while eyeing what’s in the pot."

James Brown smiled. What he was doing was indeed not normal, but nobody could understand his relationship with Emma. That’s why he didn’t regret his decision.

"What if Gina found out?"

"I know she definitely won’t accept it, but I don’t have any other options right now, only to keep it this way for the time being. Perhaps in the future, Emma will no longer want to live like this and will want to find someone else to marry. Then, perhaps, I can return to normal."

"Could you bear that?"

"Of course I’d find it hard to let go. But I’m married to Gina now. Can I still be so domineering and keep Emma tied to me? That would be unfair to her."

Sunny Nguyen blinked her eyes and said, "What about your first love? She doesn’t seem like someone who would give up easily, plus she’s not as easygoing as your little girlfriend."

Speaking of Melody Yoody, James Brown felt a rise of headache, "I don’t know either. With her, I can only take things one step at a time."

Sunny Nguyen laughed lightly and said, "It seems that the emotions between you all are quite deep, huh?"

James Brown didn’t deny it, talking to Sunny Nguyen was really without any burden.

Sunny Nguyen’s hand gently massaged him as she looked at him with seductive eyes, "What about me?"

"You..." James Brown pinched Sunny Nguyen’s face and said, "I feel the most unburdened with you. You’re so flavorful; how could I give you up? But what I’m most curious about right now is how you and Gina talked it out. I’m quite puzzled; how could she still allow you to be with me? Does she really have such magnanimity to let me have other women outside?"

Sunny Nguyen suddenly smiled smugly, "Then you should turn around and ask your beloved wife."

"Ask her?" James Brown couldn’t help but smile wryly; asking one’s wife such a thing really wasn’t quite right.
