Chapter 302: Chapter 310: Silverfish Attack

When something alive suddenly drops into your clothes, even if it’s a completely harmless goldfish, it’s bound to give you the creeps. That’s exactly what happened to Gina Lopez. At that moment, a small silver fish jumped right inside her clothes, which were limited to just her two-piece swimsuit, naturally landing inside the bra of her swimsuit.

Gina’s bust was not small, and under normal circumstances, her swimsuit clung tightly to her body. But just as she was holding this little fish, she must have taken a posture which created a gap at the top of her bra, and, as if fate would have it, the little fish wiggled its way right through that gap.

The moment the fish slipped in, Gina tensed up in fear. There was no way for the fish to get out now, but being a living thing, of course it wouldn’t lie down and accept its fate. It thrashed tirelessly inside, cold and slippery.

At this point, Gina could only scream; even knowing that it was just a little fish that had gotten inside, she was too frightened to reach in and grasp it.

James Brown had not seen what exactly happened, but Gina’s screaming startled him, and he hurried over to stabilize her, asking anxiously, "What’s wrong?"

"This... this here! Quick, get it out!" Gina’s face was devoid of colour, and she pointed at her chest, stuttering.

James Brown was momentarily stunned, pointing at her chest, he said, "Here?"

"Yes, yes, right here... Hurry, it’s moving again." Gina was trembling all over, on the verge of tears.

It was then that James Brown, staring at Gina’s swimsuit, noticed a spot that kept moving, and putting it together with what Gina had said, he understood what it was. He couldn’t help but laugh and said, "It’s just a little fish, you can pull it out yourself."

"Ah! I can’t, will you please hurry up and help me?" Gina held up her hands, giving James Brown a pitiful look.

By now, James Brown knew Gina wasn’t pretending, which made the situation all the more amusing to him. Gina, as a company president, hardly ever showed fear; she intimidated the hundreds of people in her company. Yet now, she was scared silly by a harmless little fish, even letting him touch her sensitive area.

James Brown found the situation quite comical. Last time with Lucy Campbell, they had faced a similar situation, but Lucy was wearing regular clothes, the fish slipped into her clothes and quickly fell out, although Lucy nearly fell into the sea from the shock. But now, it wasn’t so easy with Gina, and he would have to help her, making it more sensational than the last time.

Seeing Gina so terrified, James Brown did not think she was seducing him. Besides, even though Gina always said she wanted to be with him, she had never tried to use seduction. So, without further ado, he reached out and slipped his hand directly into the top of Gina’s swimsuit.

Yet, no sooner had his hand reached in a little, he found he could not push it any further, which puzzled James Brown even more—how had the fish gotten in?

"Take a breath in, I’m going to reach my hand in," James Brown reminded her.

Gina was very compliant this time; she immediately sucked in her breath, causing her chest to retract slightly, and only then could James Brown continue to extend his hand further. But the little fish also found a bit more space and slid down a bit more.

James Brown had to reach in deeper, his palm now fully cupping Gina’s right breast, fingers directly upon that small cherry, a truly indulgent moment. Even though this wasn’t the first time he had touched Gina’s bust, feeling her up under these circumstances caused James to lose his bearings for a moment, forgetting what he was originally supposed to do.

Gina, however, did not realize there was anything inappropriate about James Brown’s touch, as his hand was not as scary as the fish. She anxiously asked, "Haven’t you caught it yet?"

"Got it right now," James Brown hurriedly stopped his wandering hands and reached deeper, finally touching the little fish.

But just as he did, the fish struggled hard and managed to slip out the bottom of Gina’s swimsuit, then wiggling its tail a few times on the rocks, it slid back into the water.

James Brown found it somewhat humorous; in the end, it wasn’t him who had gotten the fish out. If it could be dislodged like that, Gina could have handled it herself.

With the fish out, Gina breathed a sigh of relief, but then she suddenly became conscious of James Brown’s hand still there, and glared at him, saying, "Haven’t you had your fill of touching?"

James Brown awkwardly smiled and replied, "You were the one who asked me to catch the fish, how is this my fault?" He then attempted to withdraw his hand.

But before he could pull his hand out, he heard a gasp and quickly turned his head, only to see Sarah Utah standing at the bottom of the rocks, staring dumbfounded at the two of them.

Gina also saw Sarah, and with James Brown’s hand still inside her swimsuit, she was overwhelmed with embarrassment and desperately tugged at James Brown’s arm.

When James Brown saw Sarah, he too instinctively tried to pull his hand away, but the force he exerted was contrary to Gina’s; as he pulled one way, Gina pulled the other, so it seemed as if Gina was preventing his hand from being removed, while to her it felt like James Brown did not want to take his hand out.

"Get your hand out!" Gina could not believe that James Brown would do such a thing. If there were no witnesses, it might have been okay, but now with Sarah there, he still wouldn’t pull his hand away. Did he intend to keep touching her in front of Sarah?

"Stop pulling me!" James Brown also cried out.

At this point, both realized that they were pulling in the wrong direction. Instinctively, they exerted force in the opposite direction, but the result was no different from before. Their effort was still relative, and James Brown’s hand remained stuck.

Both of them finally realized this, and Gina Lopez quickly released her grip, allowing James Brown to withdraw his hand.

However, in Sarah Utah’s view, James Brown and Gina Lopez were being overly intimate, and it took James Brown a long time to pull his hand out.

This was beyond Sarah Utah’s imagination. Hadn’t James Brown said that his relationship with Gina Lopez wasn’t serious? What was this situation then? If it wasn’t that close, how could Gina Lopez let James Brown slip his hand inside her clothes and touch such an intimate part?

Sarah Utah was not afraid of Emma Campbell; she believed she had the capability to compete, even if she ended up failing and James Brown didn’t choose her. But she also had the courage to compete. However, competing against Gina Lopez was a different story. Sarah Utah truly lacked that courage. Gina Lopez was so beautiful, had such a graceful demeanor, and was talented. Being the CEO of a big company, what could Sarah Utah compete with?

"Cough cough, Sarah Utah, it’s not what you think," said Gina Lopez, even as a CEO, she uttered the most cliché line.

Sarah Utah managed to force a smile and said, "Sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you." Then she turned to leave.

At this moment, Gina Lopez really wished she could find a hole to crawl into. She quickly pushed James Brown forcefully and urged, "Go and explain to Sarah Utah quickly."

James Brown sighed and said, "What am I supposed to explain to her? That there’s nothing between you and me, and that I like her?"

Gina Lopez paused for a second, then stood up and said, "I’ll go tell her." Then she climbed down the rocks, shouting, "Sarah Utah, wait for me," and started hopping after Sarah Utah on one foot.

Sarah Utah stopped, and seeing Gina Lopez coming after her, quickly turned around and hastened over to support her, showing a strained smile and saying, "Mr. Lopez, I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I didn’t know about you and Big Brother Brown, I’ve caused you trouble."

Gina Lopez smiled lightly and said, "Just now, James Brown caught a fish, and somehow, it ended up inside my swimsuit. I got scared and had him help me take it out."

"Ah!" Sarah Utah’s face instantly showed a look of surprise.

Gina Lopez patted Sarah Utah’s shoulder and said, "Things are definitely not what you imagine them to be. However, there is something I must clarify with you – I do indeed like James Brown and I truly wish to be with him."

The expression on Sarah Utah’s face changed instantly, her lips moved but she made no sound.

Gina Lopez chuckled and said, "Sarah Utah, like you, I just have feelings for him. But as you know, he has a girlfriend. So we are both the same. Whether we can be with him in the end depends on our own efforts. So? Are you thinking of backing out now? Are you really that lacking in courage?"

Sarah Utah’s face went through several changes of expression, before she finally bit her lip and said, "Mr. Lopez, what do you mean, you don’t mind me... competing with you?"

"Having so many people like this guy only demonstrates his excellence. It’s just like in business – if everyone wants to do the same business, it must be a profitable one. But who succeeds still depends on their ability, and I certainly don’t hope to see an employee in my company shrink back when facing difficulties."

Sarah Utah looked at Gina Lopez and nodded profoundly, saying, "Mr. Lopez, I understand. I, Sarah Utah, am not one to admit defeat easily either."

"That’s more like it. Love is irrational; who can say for sure who is suited for whom? I have my chance, and so do you."

"Great! Thank you, Mr. Lopez." Sarah Utah’s face finally lit up with a smile, radiant and confident, no longer the forced one from before.

Gina Lopez patted Sarah Utah’s shoulder again and asked, "Why did you come back first? Where are the others?"

Sarah Utah blushed and replied, "Big Brother Brown wasn’t there, and it got boring, so..."

"Well then, let’s go fishing together."

"Yeah, let’s go together."

Gina Lopez and Sarah Utah talked in subdued voices, and James Brown couldn’t make out what they were saying. When both women climbed up the rocks and sat beside him, left and right, with Sarah Utah still showing him a sweet smile, James Brown was utterly baffled. What exactly had Gina Lopez told Sarah Utah to have her act like this?

"Big Brother Brown, I’ll join you fishing too, no objections, right?" Sarah Utah, noticing the puzzled look in James Brown’s eyes, exchanged a knowing glance with Gina Lopez. Both smiled understandingly before she spoke up to James Brown.

James Brown, unclear about what had transpired but also not wanting to pry, laughed and said, "Of course, I have no objections. Having two beautiful ladies accompany me for fishing is something the other employees would envy."

Gina Lopez, seeing James Brown and Sarah Utah chatting and laughing, suddenly felt a bit regretful. If she had let Sarah Utah depart earlier, she would have had one less rival. And yet it was she who had given Sarah Utah the opportunity.

But Gina Lopez quickly accepted the situation. Whatever she, Gina Lopez, set her mind to do, no matter how many rivals she faced, there was nothing to fear.
