"I’m sorry, I didn’t actually take any video. I was just posing," said James Brown cheekily.

"What? You didn’t film it?" Christopher Taylor’s eyes widened in disbelief.

James Brown grinned slyly, saying, "It’s not that I didn’t want to film, but how could I without a cellphone? You don’t believe me? Go back and try it on your own window. Can you really set up a phone there to record what’s going on inside the room?"

Christopher Taylor’s facial muscles twitched violently a few times before he took several deep breaths, then said, "Let’s go."

He couldn’t stay here any longer; otherwise, he might actually take a cop’s gun and shoot James Brown dead.

Christopher Taylor left and immediately went back to the room they had been in earlier. He tried to see if it was possible to take a video with a cellphone from there and found that it indeed wasn’t possible. This made him even more furious, and he slammed his phone to the ground in anger. He had been completely played by James Brown; he had never felt so cheated and frustrated before.

The two people with Christopher Taylor were somewhat confused, and one of them asked, "Mayor Johnson, why didn’t you arrest that guy just now?"

James Brown was sitting in the room, feeling like he was on pins and needles; Gina Lopez, Melanie Johnson, and Sunny Nguyen all looked at him with unfriendly eyes.

"Can you guys stop looking at me like that, please? If you were in my shoes, you’d definitely clean up that guy just like I did," said James. Being observed by three beautiful women and his foster daughter seemed like something cool, but such stares made him uncomfortable.

Alice Brown quickly said, "Mr. Lopez, this was all because of me. If it weren’t for Big Brother Brown, I would’ve really been bullied by Christopher Taylor this time."

"Oh?" All three immediately turned their gazes to Alice Brown.

Alice Brown also felt the pressure; as a host, she was used to big events, so being the center of attention wasn’t usually flustering. But because these three women seemed to have some relationship with James Brown, she felt like she was caught cheating with him, and that made her feel somewhat guilty.

Still, Alice Brown cleared her throat and recounted the events in detail. As someone trained in hosting, she narrated vividly, especially portraying Christopher Taylor’s despicable behavior.

"Well hit!" exclaimed Melody Yoody, slamming the table. Her eyebrows shot up, and she shouted, "Such scum, as Deputy County Chief, still dared to do such things. James, you should have hit him harder."

Gina Lopez also said through gritted teeth, "Exactly, I mean, look at you, why were you so gentle? For such a scumbag, even killing him wouldn’t be too much."

James Brown immediately felt a headache coming on, while Alice Brown was dumbstruck, not expecting such a strong reaction from the two.

Although Sunny Nguyen didn’t use as aggressive language as Gina Lopez and Melody Yoody, she still sighed and said, "In this world, some men with a bit of power just don’t treat women as human beings."

Sunny Nguyen’s comment summed up the reason why Gina Lopez and Melody Yoody were so furious. The four women in the room were all capable individuals with a certain social status, and they understood all too well that for a woman to achieve anything, the effort required was often much greater than for a man.

How many men lusted after their beauty, especially those with money and power, always hindering them at every turn, blackmailing them into trading their charms for favorable conditions? Although Alice Brown didn’t touch James like Melody Yoody did, she also looked at him with watery eyes and said, "Big Brother Brown, with you here, I’m not afraid of how much I drink, unlike when I’m with other men—I’m really afraid of getting too drunk."

Sunny Nguyen chuckled softly and said, "With four beautiful women here, if all of us get drunk, won’t you benefit from that? What’s there for you to worry about?"

Melody Yoody laughed heartily, "That’s right. When that time comes, you can do whatever you want."

Alice Brown appeared even more charming. If that were really possible, she would not object at all. In fact, she was quite looking forward to it. At that moment, she promptly lifted her glass and said, "To Mr. Lopez, Director Green, Township Chief Johnson, cheers, let’s drink again."

However, under the persuasion of the others, it didn’t feel right for her not to drink, though she still kept some wits about her, not wanting to get too drunk.

Unfortunately, Alice Brown, Melody Yoody, and Sunny Nguyen were all set on getting drunk. Seeing Gina not diving into the drinking as passionately, they all persuaded her together. Even if Gina didn’t want to get drunk, it was now impossible. An hour later, none of the four were in good shape—all of them were intoxicated.

People exhibit different behaviors when drunk. Gina, having had too much to drink, was simply sprawled asleep on the table. Sunny Nguyen wasn’t asleep, but her watery eyes kept fixed on James, with a seductive and alluring drunken charm; Sunny Nguyen was indeed moved by her feelings at this moment.

"I want to drink your saliva," Melody stated very clearly, her eyes burning intensely as she stared at James without blinking, waiting for his response.

James momentarily felt disoriented as if he had been transported back to his high school days. Back then, Melody was like a Goddess in everyone’s hearts—beautiful, from a well-off family, and academically brilliant, whereas James was just a poor, mischievous boy. Despite this, Melody was so forthright with James, not a bit haughty even in intimate moments, rather, very clingy. Just like now, she fixated on James saying, "I want to taste your saliva."

Such a gaze, those words, seemingly bridged the gap between James and Melody in an instant. James gazed at Melody in a daze, and Melody returned the look with determination and resolve in her eyes.

Closing his eyes slightly, James leaned over Melody, extending his arms to embrace her tightly, and kissed her deeply.
