Chapter 225: Chapter 226: Saved for Later

Emma Campbell mustered her courage when she spoke those words, and seeing James Brown’s expression, she felt even more certain that her decision was correct. For the sake of the one she loved, she was willing to do anything, even this.

"Big Brother Brown... I... I... It’s my first time, I might not do well." Emma stammered with a flushed face but seemed very brave at that moment.

James Brown looked at Emma, his heart tender as water, cupped her face in his hands and gave her a deep kiss, saying, "Emma, this is too hard for you, let’s just use the hands."

"But... Didn’t you say using the mouth would make a man more comfortable?" Emma asked somewhat astonished.

James gently smiled and explained, "That’s true, but it’s really too much to ask you to do it now. When we’ve done it more frequently in the future, then you can do it for me like this. Being together, we should have some variety, right? If you do the most exciting thing now, what would I look forward to later?"

"Ah? Keep it for later?" Emma seemed very confused at the moment.

James felt indescribable happiness and softly said, "Yes, I obviously hope that you’d do it naturally in the future, not reluctantly now."

"I’m not reluctant, as long as Big Brother Brown likes it, I really don’t mind. Seeing you happy makes me even happier."

"Silly girl, let’s save that for later. Let’s use the hands today, this is the first step in our loving cohabitation."

Hearing James say this, a blissfully happy smile appeared on Emma’s face. She pursed her lips and said, "Okay, then you have to teach me how I should do it so that you are the most comfortable."

"Alright, alright, I will teach you properly." James chuckled heartily.

A good ten minutes passed before they stopped. Emma was gently shaking her wrist. Though the action looked simple, finding the right grip strength and frequency took her some time, switching hands occasionally, before finally managing to make James release.

"You did great." James let out a breath, enjoying himself, but seeing Emma exert herself made him quite heartbroken.

"It’s not hard." Emma blushed as she answered, then used a towel to clean James up before snuggling into his arms.

James held Emma close. She’d indeed been through a lot today, and this only made him adore this submissive girl more. Having a girlfriend like her assured a lifetime of happiness.

It was Emma’s first time encountering a man’s organ, so firm initially and then becoming soft and tender after release, she couldn’t help but be curious. She shyly looked at James and softly asked, "Big Brother Brown... Can I touch it again?"

James couldn’t help but smile and replied, "Is there anything on your Big Brother Brown you’re not allowed to touch?"

Emma felt a bit embarrassed but couldn’t resist gently grasping James’ organ, which he found very comforting. That night, as James held Emma, her hand never left him; it was their first contact of that kind, and though she was shy, her happiness derived from James’ comfort was more significant.

The next morning, James took Emma to school early and informed her that he might be busy over the weekend and not stay at home, so he asked her not to come back.

Emma had just made a breakthrough with James, and she hoped to be completely free for the weekend to truly take their relationship to the next level, so receiving such news made her feel a bit disappointed.

"Silly girl, we have a long life ahead of us; I can’t wait to devour you," James affectionately kissed Emma’s face and squeezed her hand tightly.

Emma smiled brightly and said, "I understand, I’ll go first, call me when you’re free."

James nodded and added, "If you encounter any difficulties at school, call me."

"Okay!" Emma happily agreed, kissed James back, and then got out of the car.

Due to Gina Lopez’s parents being in town, James might have to spend the weekend around them, so even though he wished to be with Emma, he had to settle things with Gina first.

Helen Wilson arrived at the station in the morning and felt the atmosphere was quite unusual. The director was not seen, and what usually was a station with over a dozen officers, now only had four or five. She didn’t think much of it; if there was a task last night or a case that required immediate attention early in the morning, it was entirely normal.

However, just as she sat down, Helen received a phone call.

"Little Lin, come to the station immediately."

"Ah, Director S, I’ll come over right away." Helen Wilson wasn’t sure what the matter was, but she quickly agreed, put down the phone with a bit of trepidation, worried that her investigation into the smuggling group had come to the attention of higher-ups, which would only complicate her work further.

Twenty minutes later, Helen Wilson arrived at James Johnson’s office. James Johnson warmly welcomed her and had her sit down, saying, "Officer Monaghan, how do you feel about your work recently?"

Helen Wilson’s heart skipped a beat and she answered vaguely, "It’s all right, I guess."

James Johnson laughed and said, "Officer Monaghan is still very modest, huh? For young cadres like yourself, being overly modest is not good. You need to be more energetic."

Helen Wilson couldn’t tell if James Johnson was really going to discuss the smuggling with her, so she followed his words, saying, "I will definitely work hard."

James Johnson gave a slight smile and said, "Hmm, Officer Monaghan, T District sees you as a key figure in reshaping the image of the YODC City police force. They want to see your drive, and now there’s an even more important responsibility for you to take on."

Helen Wilson was stunned for a moment, usually such words meant a leadership promotion was coming. Could it be she was going to be promoted again? But she hadn’t been the Deputy Director for long, how could she be promoted again? And since becoming Deputy Director, she had no significant achievements, making a promotion even more questionable.

James Johnson was pleased with Helen Wilson’s astonished expression and said, "Your station’s Director John, Chris Smith, has been temporarily suspended due to some issues. Therefore, after our branch’s deliberation, we have decided to temporarily assign you to act as Director. Do you have any objections?"

Helen Wilson’s eyes widened in surprise as she quickly asked, "What happened to Director John?"

"You don’t need to ask about that. For now, he’s unsuited to be Director, and he won’t be working at your station temporarily. Also, a few other officers are under temporary suspension for review. We’ll immediately reassign some officers to maintain the operations at your station, but we can’t immediately replace the Director. Although you’re young and less experienced, nurturing young cadres has always been our party’s policy. Now that this opportunity has arisen, you must seize it well."

Helen Wilson immediately stood up, passionately saying, "I will definitely not let the leadership down."

James Johnson waved his hand, signaling Helen Wilson to sit down, "It’s good you’re willing to take on this responsibility. We will convene a meeting with Miss Darling this afternoon, and probably announce this by tomorrow. If you have any difficulties now, just let me know. Our branch will certainly do our best to help you out."

Helen Wilson sat down, took a deep breath, and said, "Director S, since the branch leadership trusts me so much, even with difficult tasks, I will definitely be able to accomplish them."

"Very good, I appreciate such enthusiasm. Now, go back and manage the office work well."

"Yes!" Helen Wilson immediately stood up, saluted in formal police fashion, and then left the director’s office.

Exiting the branch, Helen Wilson felt an urge to shout excitedly. She was thrilled not because of a promotion, but because becoming the Director meant she was now the highest authority in the station. There was a senior advisor in the station, but due to his age and health issues, he often rested and was not much involved in the work anymore. Now in the station, her word was final—she could decide how to proceed.

This was completely different from being Deputy Director. Technically, a Deputy Director, although ranked and titled, was not much different from a regular officer, still subordinate to the Director’s decisions. Hence, her desire to investigate the major smuggling case had been hampered, but now she could decide on her own, potentially mobilizing the rest of the officers in the station.

However, Helen Wilson soon calmed down. Even though she could now mobilize the station’s officers, the matter was too extensive, and it was uncertain if these officers were connected to the smuggling group. If word got out, she could easily jeopardize everything she had accomplished. Thus, she could only carry this out discreetly, though she could use the staff to assist her in investigations, which was still entirely feasible.

In any case, becoming the acting Director was all benefit and no harm, also providing the best opportunity to pursue her ambitions, which she didn’t want to miss.

Picking up the phone, Helen Wilson immediately dialed James Brown’s number, but looking at the number, she herself was puzzled as to why she hadn’t called her parents first but instead contacted James Brown.

"Officer Monaghan, what’s up?" James Brown asked in a lazy tone.

Hearing James Brown’s unenthusiastic voice, Helen Wilson’s excitement diminished somewhat, and she said, "I’ve become the Director now, and now I have more backing in handling that case."

James Brown was already troubled by Gina Lopez’s issues when he received Helen Wilson’s call, and it reminded him that not only Gina Lopez, but Helen Wilson was also supposed to have a sham marriage with him. This further depressed him; how had he become such a sought-after man that beauties wanted to enter into fake marriages with him? Most importantly, he was someone with a girlfriend. If Emma Campbell knew, how heartbroken would she be?

However, hearing Helen Wilson say this, James Brown was also surprised, but quickly realized her promotion must be related to the stir he had caused last night. He hadn’t expected it to bring such a benefit—a pleasant surprise indeed.

"Congratulations, congratulations. So, should you treat me to a meal then?"

"Sure, no problem. We can have dinner together this evening, and I can discuss how to proceed now that I have more leverage; the plan can change a bit."

"Dinner tonight won’t work; I have something else scheduled."

"That’s fine then." Helen Wilson felt unexpectedly disappointed; she wanted James Brown to be the first to share her joy, but it seemed he wasn’t willing to oblige.
