Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Having Personality
Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen were in the bedroom, recounting the events they had encountered that day.
After listening, Sunny Nguyen immediately said with certainty, "It must have been those two who did this. Not only do they want to force me out, but now they’ve resorted to such despicable tactics to push you out too. It’s just too shameless."
Gina Lopez sighed and said, "Actually, I don’t need them to push me; I’ve already made up my mind today. I’ve decided to leave."
Sunny Nguyen immediately responded with joy, "Well, that’s great! Then let’s leave together. I believe that the two of us, working together, will definitely create a new world."
Gina Lopez nodded and said, "I believe so too. Now I’ll go contact Lucy Campbell to confirm things on her end."
Gina Lopez made a call to Lucy Campbell, who was very enthusiastic. She was even happier when she heard that Gina Lopez had agreed to come aboard and said that Gina could meet her anytime to sign the new contract.
Gina Lopez still carried a sense of professional integrity, mentioning that she would only join Lucy Campbell’s company after resolving her affairs at JYPP Region Company, to which Lucy readily agreed.
After hanging up the phone, Gina Lopez suddenly felt a sense of relief, and she lay down on the bed, saying, "These past days have been so tiring, even more taxing than the most difficult times at the company."
Sunny Nguyen nodded and said, "Yes, the external pressures of the company are easier to solve, but it’s often the internal collapse that makes one feel the most powerless."
Smelling the delicious aroma from outside, Gina Lopez’s stomach grumbled, and she laughed, "I just remembered we haven’t eaten dinner yet. Let’s have something together."
"I’ve already eaten, but the smell is just too tempting; I can’t help but want some more."
Gina Lopez winked at Sunny Nguyen, and in high spirits, she started joking with her, "You know, if you want to, you could take that guy home with you and enjoy his cooking every day."
Sunny Nguyen laughed and said, "Forget it. If I took him home, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy it anymore. How could I take what my friend likes?"
"I’m just borrowing him for now; I’ll return him to you soon."
"Haha, he isn’t mine to begin with, so there’s no need to return him to me. If you want to keep him, feel free to do so for a lifetime."
As the two joked around like this, they no longer felt embarrassed. Indeed, when a woman is open-hearted, she can sometimes outdo men. After a few laughs, they left the bedroom and confidently took their seats at the dining table, waiting for dinner.
"Since we’re in a good mood today, why not have some wine?" Gina Lopez asked Sunny Nguyen.
Sunny Nguyen immediately replied, "I was just thinking the same."
Gina Lopez then said to James Brown, "James, fetch us two bottles of red wine. Tonight I want to have a good drink with Sunny."
James Brown agreed, grabbed two bottles of red wine, and opened them for Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen, saying, "It looks like you’re in a really good mood today."
Watching Gina Lopez and James Brown interact so naturally, Sunny Nguyen’s gaze unintentionally wandered over James Brown and Gina Lopez again, and with Emily Lopez calling him "Brother-in-law" nearby, she couldn’t feel any pretense between James Brown and Gina Lopez, but rather a genuine couple.
They had a very enjoyable meal, with most of the two bottles of red wine drunk by Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen. Both were about seventy percent drunk. Although Emily Lopez liked to join in the fun, she found the company talk between Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen dull, so after finishing her meal, she went to watch TV. Finding no interesting shows, she played on the computer for a while and then went to bed around ten o’clock.
James Brown hadn’t drunk much. He was like Emily Lopez, not really paying much attention to the company matters. If it wasn’t for Gina Lopez asking him to stay, he too would have gone to sleep early on.
Well past eleven o’clock, after they had finished drinking, Gina Lopez said, "Sunny, you should stay here tonight; I’ll share a room with you."
Sunny Nguyen glanced at James Brown and said coquettishly, "No need. I’ll just go home. There’s no space here anyway."
Gina Lopez giggled and said, "Emily’s asleep. She sleeps like the dead and nothing wakes her. I can give you the bedroom, and I can sleep on the sofa."
Although Sunny Nguyen’s face was flushed, she didn’t feel too embarrassed. After all, in this house, it wasn’t the first time she had stayed with James Brown. She laughed it off, "Let’s just forget about it. I’m not so empty anymore; I don’t need to ask this guy to relieve my loneliness."
"Really?" Gina Lopez blinked.
"Of course it’s true. You should rest early; I’m leaving now." Sunny Nguyen stood up, but with a sway of her body, she almost fell. James Brown, quick on his feet, swiftly caught her by the waist.
"Look at you, still denying it. Alright then, James, you take Sunny home. Don’t bother coming back tonight."
James Brown nodded and said, "Let’s go. I’ll take you home."
Sunny Nguyen quickly pushed him away and said, "No need, I can just take a taxi home."
Gina Lopez hurriedly said, "How can that be okay? James, you have to take Sunny home, and you have to take good care of her too."
At this point, Sunny Nguyen finally felt flustered and scolded playfully, "Gina, you’re getting bolder and bolder with your words."
Gina Lopez chuckled, "Aren’t we close sisters? Do I still have to be so reserved with you?"
James Brown helped Sunny Nguyen out of the apartment. As soon as they entered the elevator, Sunny abruptly wrapped her arms around James Brown’s neck, tiptoeing to deliver a passionate kiss.
James Brown hadn’t expected Sunny Nguyen to be so enthusiastic, but of course, he wasn’t going to refuse such an encounter, responding with equal passion immediately.
It wasn’t until the elevator stopped that they parted lips, not saying a word to each other. Some things don’t need to be spelled out; an understanding silently shared was enough.
When they arrived at Sunny Nguyen’s newly rented apartment, their passion flared again, and they quickly rolled onto the bed. These past few days, James Brown had really been feeling pent-up. The day with the two beautiful hosts had been interrupted halfway through, and then living with Gina Lopez for these past days—though James didn’t show it, it didn’t mean he hadn’t thought about it.
A stunning beauty like Gina Lopez, lying next to a man in pajamas every day, and not even being allowed a touch, was torture for anyone.
So, with Sunny today, James Brown unleashed all the pent-up desire he’d been harboring.
Sunny Nguyen could feel James Brown’s urgency. For a woman inflamed with passion, a man’s ardor was an absolute thrill, and she met each of his moves, wave after wave of pleasure crashing over her body, her soul, until James Brown cried out and they stopped, clinging to each other like octopuses, long reluctant to part.
After a while, James Brown rolled off Sunny Nguyen and fished his cigarettes out of the scattered clothes on the bed. Sunny grabbed a lighter and lit the cigarette for him, then nestled beside him, pillowing her head on his arm and squinting as she watched him blow smoke rings.
"Do you know what Mr. Lopez said to me today?" After such vigorous exercise, Sunny’s buzz from the alcohol had subdued slightly, and now she asked with a smile.
James flicked ash from his cigarette and said, "What did he say?"
"He suggested that I should look to you to be my husband in the future."
James Brown turned to look at Sunny Nguyen and asked, "What do you think?"
Gazing into James Brown’s eyes, Sunny replied, "What do you think?"
Taking a drag of his cigarette, James said, "Sunny, I’m not going to lie to flatter you. Right now, I definitely don’t have marriage on my mind, and when that will change, I can’t say. Moreover, I don’t want to be tied down by feelings. If you’re serious, I can only apologize to you."
Sunny Nguyen’s face visibly showed her disappointment, but it was quickly masked with a smile as she said, "It’s good this way. I was actually afraid you were serious, then I’d have to run away from you."
James Brown saw the fleeting disappointment in Sunny’s eyes but pretended not to notice, laughing and saying, "Yeah, relationships cost money, and money hurts relationships. So let’s not talk about either. If you miss me, give me a call. If I need you, I can reach out to you. How comfortable is that?"
For a man to say such things might seem irresponsible, yet Sunny Nguyen didn’t think so. She was no longer a child, having experienced a failed marriage, she harbored a dread of it. If James Brown had suggested they get serious, she might really have been too scared to continue seeing him. Now that he had spoken this way, she felt a weight lifted off her shoulders.
Of course, she couldn’t deny James Brown was attractive to her—otherwise, she wouldn’t have continued this way, mistaken as it may have been.
"James, I actually think you and Gina would be a good match. Have you thought about being with Gina?" Sunny Nguyen traced circles on James Brown’s chest, her gaze meaningful.
James Brown reached back, gave Sunny Nguyen’s breast a pinch, making her let out a soft moan, before saying, "Do you think that’s possible?"
"Why wouldn’t it be? I think you two are quite suitable."
"Forget it, don’t tease me. Gina Lopez is a top executive and I’m just a lowly employee, a driver. I’m only playing a role to deceive her family for now. It’s impossible for us to have anything in common."
But Sunny Nguyen said seriously, "It’s not like that. I know you’re not a simple man. You’re certainly good enough for Gina."
James Brown laughed heartily, "If I ended up with Gina Lopez, how would you manage to get along with her afterward? Would she always think of us having slept together? Moreover, if she saw me with you, wouldn’t she suspect we were still involved?"
Sunny was taken aback as James had pointed out quite a serious issue, her face turning awkward in an instant. If it were her, she couldn’t remain composed, let alone the much more proud Gina Lopez.
"Stop with the wild thoughts. I’ve said I’m not getting involved with anyone anytime soon, and Gina Lopez isn’t the type I like. We’re just not going to happen, or else how could I give up a great bed partner like you?"
"Stop it!" Sunny Nguyen gave James a pinch, then rolled on top of him, coquettishly saying, "Now, I want to see if you truly are a good bed partner."
