Chapter 323: Purchasing Skills and Equipment

With that finally out of the way, Henry entered into the system store. Finally, it was time for him to do several other upgrades. But this time, he was going to focus on skills and equipment.

After upgrading the system to the next level, currently, equipment could be found until the 6th star rank. This was a great improvement as compared to the previous times where the highest level of the equipment that could be purchased by him from the system was only at the third star.

Henry did not understand why the system decided to make it so difficult to be able to gain even a 4-star equipment, when he had actually managed to find some of them during the time that he was dealing with the monsters that had attacked at night, back at the domination star territory.

According to logic, it was supposed to be that high level equipment would only appear after giving high level apocalyptic creatures. But surprisingly, he had managed to gain high level equipment, although he had only killed several silver rank apocalyptic creatures.

At the entering the system store, Henry focused on the first one, the armor. The one that he was currently possessing was at the 3 star level. This time, since the third stage of the apocalypse had already arrived, it was better for him to level up the equipment that he was having.

The moment that he entered the system store, Henry looked at the prices of the equipment that could be found. Currently, all the equipment that he wanted to purchase were being priced at the gold rank mutation crystals.

The prices of the armor that were at the 4 star level ranged from 5 level one gold rank mutation crystals to 10. The 5 star armor had the prices ranging from 5 level 3 gold rank mutation crystals to 10 level 3 gold rank mcs.

Then something that surprised Henry slightly was the fact that the six star armor was priced at 5 to 10 level 9 gold rank mcs. There was such a huge leap in the prices from the 5 star to the 6 star.

According to the mutation crystals that he currently possessed, he could only afford to purchase the 4-star equipment.

Henry shifted his attention to other equipment. It was then that he realized that every equipment that was at the 4-star level and above had actually been priced the same as the armors.

Finally, having already completed going through the system and the matter of the prices, Henry decided to purchase high level equipment within the system.

According to his understanding of the description about the equipment, those equipment that were priced the highest were the best. So, he first purchased the 4-star armors.

He went ahead and purchased five armors. All of them were being priced at 10 level 1 gold rank mutation crystals. The five pairs of armors were for himself, Olivia, Adam, Julie, and Sarah.

As for Diana, the armor that she was wearing was not something that could be upgraded. Instead, it was actually capable of improving according to the level that she was currently in. And right now, since she was in the gold rank, the level of the armor was definitely capable of matching the 4-star armors.

Henry was not sure about how it worked, but still, even after asking Diana, she said that she didn’t know the mechanisms that applied behind the armor that she was wearing. To her, the equipment that she possessed would always increase the level according to the power level that she was in.

So, if it was purchasing equipment for Diana, he could only purchase equipment that was at a higher level as compared to the one that she was having. Otherwise, it was just a waste of mutation crystals to purchase equipment for her.

After that, he went ahead and purchased a battle axe for Adam, a staff for Sarah, and a dagger for Julie. This cost him a total of 30 gold rank mutation crystals. Of course, each one of them was at level 1.

He did not purchase any equipment for himself, neither did he do so for Olivia. The equipment that the two of them possessed did not have a rank specifically.

They were actually sealed, and they required the seals to be removed, in order to be able to improve the strength that they could mobilize. So, Henry had decided that he was going to try and see if there was a possibility of unsealing the two swords.

He had already gone through the system store, trying to see if he could find any equipment like those two that the two of them possessed. But no matter how many times he searched through the system store, he could not find any.

With this purchase that he made, the level one gold rank mutation crystals that he possessed had been reduced to 14. But Henry was not that worried considering that he possessed 11 level to gold rank mutation crystals.

If he made an exchange, he would definitely be position 1,100 level 1 gold rank mutation crystals.

After completing the purchase, Henry went ahead and took out one of the armors from the system. The moment that he took it out, he was a little surprised because he found out that the armor was kind of futuristic looking.

It was not made out of simple leather like before. But instead, this time, it looked like it was made out of some kind of material that had been synthesized. It looked extremely light, just like an ordinary cloth. But still, it was actually a 4-star armor.

The color of the armor was red. This was the color that Henry had chosen, deciding to continue with the same trend as the one that he possessed. Additionally, it seemed that he was kind of fated with the red color because not only had his flame turned red, but even a few people around him possessed features that were red.

Henry did not immediately put on the armor. Instead, after observing it, he returned it into the system. Then, he focused on purchasing skills from the system store.

For the skills, other than purchasing extras to fill the slots that he possessed, he went ahead and upgraded the ones that he currently possessed. The fireball was also upgraded to the 4-star level.

Everything in the system store was priced the same, or at least within the same range, from 5 level 1 gold rank mutation crystals, to 10 level 9 gold rank mutation crystals.

At the silver rank, a person was capable of possessing 15 skills. But after reaching the gold rank, the skill slots did not increase. But instead, everyone was given an option of removing a particular skill and replacing it with another.

Of course not everybody possessed a system that was capable of selling to him skills of a higher level, that he could simply replace the ones that he possessed with higher level skills.

At this point, Henry had decided that he was not going to change the skills that he possessed, unless it was absolutely necessary for him to do so. It was better for him to get used to the skills that he currently possessed, to make sure that the proficiency that he possessed in utilizing them was at the maximum level.

It was better for him to understand the skills that he possessed, rather than trying out every single skill that he found, trying to think that it was going to be better if he utilized them.

After he was done, Henry realized that there was nothing else that he could purchase. His current mutation crystal balance had already been reduced to 64 level 1 gold rank mutation crystals, one level 3, and 3 level 2 gold rank mutation crystals.

This was a huge reduction in the balance of the mutation crystals that he possessed. But still, currently, Henry had already purchased equipment and skills for his group.

If the group was fully equipped with the equipment and the skills that he had purchased, the power level that they possessed was going to rise higher than before.

On the other side, after relaxing for a while, Sarah could no longer continue staying inside the room. She was feeling uneasy, considering that she had not seen anybody from her family until now.

She was feeling insecure. So, the only way that she could remove the insecurity that she was feeling was to see her family. So, she left the room, and went out.

She met up with the lady who was in charge of taking care of her. Then, she asked about where she could find her parents. But the lady was completely clueless about who Sarah’s parents were.

When she realized this, Sarah could only ask for the directions on where she was going to find Olivia’s parents. It was then that she was informed that she was currently inside Olivia’s house. Olivia was living with her parents, and the house belonged to her parents from the start.

When she heard that, Sarah could not help but get nervous. According to how it was supposed to be, since they were currently in Lockwood city, since she was unconscious, she was supposed to be together with her family if they were present.

Why was it that she was staying with Olivia, if her family was present? Could it be that they did not know that she had arrived?

Feeling nervous and anxious at the same time, Sarah went ahead and headed towards the direction that she had been told that Olivia’s mother, Beatrice was located at.

When Beatrice, who was currently in the living room saw Sarah coming over, she smiled as she stood up with surprise in her eyes. "You’ve woken up!"
