Chapter 324: Where’s My Family?

When Beatrice, who was currently in the living room saw Sarah coming over, she smiled as she stood up with surprise in her eyes. "You’ve woken up!"

"Yes." Sarah responded. To say the truth, she was a little excited after seeing Beatrice. Before the apocalypse descended, they had interacted with each other, and had already formed a good bond.

So, when she realized that Beatrice was safe and sound, Sarah was also relieved. Had it not been for the fact that she did not know about where her family was currently, Sarah would have definitely been laughing out loud right now due to excitement.

Beatrice moved forward and held Sarah in her hands. She was completely worried during the time that Sarah was unconscious. She could see the frustrations that Olivia was having during the time that Sarah was unconscious.

Beatrice understood her daughter quite well. She understood that Olivia was not a person that made a lot of friends. So, for her to be capable of possessing a friend like Sarah, that implied that she had really opened up to her.

"You want to know about your parents, right?" Beatrice asked as she assisted Sarah to sit down on the couch in the living room.

"Yes. Ever since I have woken up, I have not heard anything about my parents or my siblings. So, I’m quite to worried." Sarah responded honestly. There was no need for her to hide something like this from Beatrice. In any case, it was not as if this was something that was supposed to be hidden, right?

Beatrice did not respond immediately. Instead, she remained silent, and fell into a moment of contemplation. She was not sure if she was supposed to tell Sarah directly, or she was supposed to wait for Olivia to come back.

The Information about Sarah’s parents was not something simple. And, she was not sure on how Sarah was going to react after she received the information. So, she was momentarily hesitating on giving the information.

On the other hand, when Sarah realized that Beatrice was hesitant to give her the information about her parents, she could not help but feel extremely nervous. At the same time, the heartbeat rate drastically increased.

At this point, she was feeling nervous, and at the same time, she was hoping that there was definitely no bad news that was going to come. But still, looking at the expression that was on Beatrice’s face, she understood that there was a very low probability that the information that she was going to receive was going to be good.

"Did... Did something happen to my family? Where are they?" Sarah asked with a trembling voice. Other than Olivia and her family, the only other people that she really cared was definitely her family. In fact, her family came first.

When Beatrice heard the question, she realized that the reaction that she had after Sarah asked the question had told Sarah something different.

It was just that, there was nothing that she could do at this moment. It was not as if the piece of information that she possessed was good anyway.

"What about doing like this? We wait until Olivia comes back before she gives you full information about your family. That’s going to be okay, right?" Beatrice asked after a moment of contemplation.

At this point, she had already decided that she was not going to give the information to Sarah. Although there was a bond between her and Sarah, the bond between them was definitely not as strong as compared to the one that existed between Sarah and Olivia.

"Why can’t you just tell me right now? Did something happen to my family?" With tears glittering in her eyes, Sarah asked. She looked directly into Beatrice’s eyes, seeking information from them.

From the direction that things were going in, she could tell that there was definitely something that had gone wrong with her family. It was just that she could not tell what it was.

Nevertheless, she understood one thing, it was not a good one. That was especially so considering that Beatrice was not telling her directly, and only saying that Olivia was the one that was supposed to tell her about it.

But, weren’t the two families quite close with each other? During this apocalypse, if they encounter each other, Sarah believed that they would definitely help each other out.

The bond between the two families was not formed purely because of the relationship between Sarah and Olivia. But, it was also formed due to the relationship between Vincent, Olivia’s father, and her father. Both of them were from the military, so, they had already formed a friendship.

Beatrice remained silent. She was not sure on how she was supposed to handle this situation now. She had not lost any member of her family, at least the nuclear family. So, she definitely did not know much about the pain of losing everybody in the entire family.

But, she could relate to the pain that she felt during the time that Olivia suddenly disappeared. At that time, she was extremely horrified and saddened. She used all the efforts that she possessed, trying to make sure that she found Olivia.

And when all her efforts bore no fruits, she got devastated. Just thinking of that time when she had thought that she had lost Olivia completely, Beatrice would never want to go back to that time again.

So, when she realized that her daughter was stronger, and was back with a group of people that was just as strong as she was, she was relieved. At least with this group of people, they would definitely be capable of ensuring her safety.

All of that pain was something that she had experienced during the time that she had thought that she had lost Olivia. Then, what would happen if a person realized that they had lost their entire family? Could they really handle the pain?

"Sarah, you have to calm down. I promise you that it is not that your family has died. Well, it is not like we are sure about it, but still, what we are sure about is that they did not die during the time that they were here." Beatrice stated a little urgently after realizing that Sarah’s emotions were getting out of control.

Beatrice’s silence had made Sarah think of the worst possibility. And due to that, her emotions continuously fluctuated from both grief and anger. Due to that reason, she was losing control of herself.

From time to time, the light element would flicker on her body. It was as if there was a fire that was approaching a firecracker. The fire was approaching the gunpowder, but it was about to go out, but still threatening to touch the gunpowder.

One had to understand that although it was true that the light element was quite good when it came to healing, but it was also extremely fatal when it came to attacking. It was extremely fast, something that usually gave those that possessed the light element an advantage when they attacked.
