Chapter 230: Looming Danger

"Does anyone have any idea about what is going on?" Livingstone questioned as he eyed every person inside the room.

After Livingstone asked this question, nobody responded. After all, they could not understand what was going on anymore. In any case, it was not as if they were finding it strange that the monsters were moving erratically around the area that they were located in.

It was just that, although the monsters would attack from time to time, but, the attacks were on a small scale. Additionally, the monsters that were attacking were actually not the strongest that had been spotted so far.

The strangest thing was the fact that, whenever a strong monster that was at least at level five of the bronze rank was spotted, it never engaged into a fight, but, just watched from the side. And, after some time, it would depart.

As for the time the they themselves launched an attack on the monster, it would only defend, before taking a chance of retreating, and not retaliating. This was completely against the behavior of monsters.

"I do believe that there is something that is controlling these monsters. And, all this while, they are actually trying to collect information about our base." A lady stood up and spoke her mind. That was the deduction that she had made during this time.

"That’s right. I have also noticed something like that because it is not just our base that is being targeted, but, the entire Raga city is being targeted. It seems that after we have managed to prevent the zombies from attacking us continuously, the monsters that retreated not long ago have decided that they are about to launch a large scale attack on us." A bald-headed man said after the lady sat down.

After hearing what the two had said, the others also began nodding. Of course, all this while, the reason why they had not been speaking was simply because they were afraid of Livingstone. Anyway, Livingstone was a tyrant, and, they were afraid that if they made a mistake, then they might end up dead without even knowing how they died.

But, now that someone had taken the initiative, others also began giving out their opinions after realizing that Livingstone did not do anything to the two that had given out the information.

Livingstone remained silent as he listened to what was being said. Of course, he himself was not a fool. But instead, he was actually a scheming person.

And for that reason, he was able to realize that there was actually something wrong with the behavior of the monsters in the surrounding areas. It was just that, he was not sure about the reason why they were behaving in that way.

Normally, he would come up with a decision without consulting anybody, even the subordinates that held some of the important positions within the camp. Of course, although they held important positions, they actually did not have much power, because the power was actually monopolized by Livingstone and his son.

But now, it seemed that what he was thinking was actually true. And, the responses that he had received proved it. It was just that, he did not have a strategy of dealing with this matter currently.

The only solution that he was having in his mind was that, they had to defend. After all, they were not sure about the time that the monsters were going to attack.

They had already experienced a monster tide on the first day of the apocalypse. For that reason, it was definitely not strange that the monsters could attack anytime.

Just as Livingstone was about to make a decision, there was a knock on the door of the meeting room. Livingstone frowned after hearing that. Normally, nobody came to interrupt something as important as this, unless there was actually something that required immediate attention.

Before he could say anything, his son who had been standing behind him all along moved towards the entrance. After that, he opened the door, and saw that there was a man who was sweating all over, looking completely restless.

Without saying anything, he stretched his hand and grabbed the man by the throat. Then, he pulled him into the conference room, before dropping him onto the ground closer to Livingstone.

The people inside the room had already gotten used to this kind of treatment. As long as Livingstone and his son were dissatisfied with something, they would do anything according to the way that they wished.

"Speak up! Why is it that you are here?" Livingston questioned. Normally, he would actually just execute a person who came over to interrupt him.

But by now, almost everybody inside the camp that he was leading knew about his character. And for that reason, he believed that there was no way that a person was going to be stupid enough to come over and interrupt him during the time that he was dealing with something important.

"Sir...sir...the zombies are...about to attack. They have actually...formed hordes, and they...they are heading in this direction." Having just been strangled, the man was breathing heavily from both fear and lack of breath. Nevertheless, he did not dare to hesitate to say what had brought him over.

After hearing what the man had said, everybody inside the room had solemn expressions on their faces. They were already having trouble with the monsters that wanted to attack them, but now, even the zombies were actually intending to make their moves?

Of course, what Livingstone and the rest of the people present here did not know was that, they were actually lucky considering that there was no any other race that had managed to descend in this part of the city.

Otherwise, right now, they would not only be facing off against the zombies and the monsters, but instead, they would actually be having another enemy that was battling for domination, three enemies at the same time.

But of course, they did not know about that. And now, they were already finding it difficult dealing with the zombies. And of course, Raga city was not actually just a small city even before the apocalypse descended.

For that reason, the population of the people inside this city was actually about one and a half million. And, with the descent of the apocalypse, it was true that a large number of people had died under the claws of the monsters.

But, after the zombies finally descended, everything became chaotic. Even Livingstone himself only managed to get to the outskirts of the city due to his sharp mind.

And come after leaving the center of the city, they were able to have a breathing because they only had to deal with a large number of monsters, but not the zombies.

During the descent of the second stage of the apocalypse, they had to face both because the zombies also erupted within the camp. But, they were able to neutralize everything considering that they had organized themselves at that time. But still, the losses were quite high as well.

"Everyone has already heard about everything that is going on. Get your ass*s out of here and prepare for war. But remember that we are not going to deploy all our strength in dealing with the zombies. But instead, we have to be ready for an attack from the monster race as well." Livingstone immediately made a decision.

After the decision that was made final by Livingstone, the meeting was dismissed. After that, everyone began taking action. The camp that was calm suddenly became chaotic.

People were moving around, getting ready for a fight. Of course, there was always a group of people that wanted to run away, but, they were actually prevented by the people present inside here, those that were especially loyal to Livingstone.

According to Livingstone, anybody that tried to run away from here was going to be killed. It did not matter if they had the capabilities of fighting against the monsters and zombies, but, they could as well be used as cannon fodder, to delay the monsters and zombies, no matter how short the time.

Although many people really wanted to revolt, but, they had no choice. After all, not to mention the fact that they would be killed the moment that they wanted to leave the camp, but, there was actually no guarantee that they were going to survive after leaving here.

Moreover, if they left here, there was going to be nobody that was going to protect them. So, who could guarantee that they would not meet up with a strong monster or zombie that was going to kill them?

Thump! Thump!

About 2 hours after the entire camp was prepared, they finally heard the sound of footsteps approaching. It was as if a group of organized soldiers was approaching.

The strangest thing was the fact that, the zombies did not actually charge over mindlessly as they usually did, but instead, they were coming over at a slow speed. And, the number of zombies was not small at all, but instead, it actually reached several hundreds of thousands.

And, it was as if a swarm of ants was approaching them, covering the entire vision of the people who were observing the zombies that were approaching them.

Just as the group was expecting that the zombies were going to attack after arriving, the zombies actually did not make a move but stopped. They simply stood there mindlessly, not making a move as if they had suddenly been frozen.

Just as they were wondering what was going on, the zombies finally began moving. They moved to the side, and opened a passage, and a figure moved forward.
