The Shadow of a Luna
Chapter 46 - 44

Chapter 46: Chapter 44

UNKNOWN POV

In a darkened mansion somewhere was a women sitting on a rocking chair. Hair straight black hair reaching her hips and clothes looking very expensive, she rocked in the chair while holding a photo of Josiah in her hand and rubbing a finger over it.

"I promise my love. I will get revenge for you. You wanted that bitch’s baby. I promise that you will get that bitch’s baby. I miss you sweetheart. I’ll make them pay for what they did to you. I’ll make them all pay." I sobbed out as I looked at the wall of the dungeon. It was covered in the photos of the people who were going to pay. Who I was going to make suffer for everything that they have done to me and taken away from me.

Angelo, Elias, Charles, Finn, Naomi, Ruby, Cade, Bella, Carter, Aria, Ethan, Wyatt, Tobias. And right at the top was Tessa and Tyler.

"Tessa and Tyler will be last. I want their vengeance to hurt. And it will. Believe me. It will." I say through gritted teeth.

TESSA POV

Ever since the wedding Tyler and I were settling into a nice little routine. He was fussing over me way too much and I was barely even showing yet. Since I was a werewolf I would only be pregnant for 20 weeks, not the human 40 weeks. And I was already 8 weeks along which meant that there was a little bump showing but nothing major.

Tyler went to every appointment with me and was really attentive. He was driving me a little crazy at time. But I guess I kind of knew that this was going to happen.

We are in the bedroom across the hall from our bedroom one day looking at paint samples on the walls. My old room was off limits completely. No one was allowed in there and Tyler had the door permanently blocked off with cement. It was off limits because of what happened in there.

"How about this color blue?" Tyler asked showing me.

"It’s nice. What if it’s a girl?" I asked.

"She’s gonna belong to both of us. She’ll be a tomboy." Tyler grinned.

"Whatever you say. I think if we’re going to paint now then it needs to be neutral. Otherwise we find out the sex of the baby and paint accordingly." I say.

"I don’t want to know the sex of the baby until it’s here." Tyler groaned.

"Well then, neutral it is. A lite yellow or white or something." I say.

"Those are boring. You’re no fun." He pouted.

"I’m the one that has to push this kid out, my say." I say.

"You use that excuse for everything." He shouts accusingly.

"Because it’s true." I say. And he growled and crouched down slightly. " Don’t you dare." I say. And he started circling around like he was stalking his prey.

"Tyler, I mean it. Don’t you fucking dare." I demand. But he pounced anyway and we both landed back on the beanbag in the chair and he started smothering my entire face with kisses.

"Ewe. Gross. Boy cooties." I moaned rubbing his kisses off. And he started laughing. And then we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat at the door.

"What is it Cade?" Tyler asked a little annoyed.

"I’m sorry Alpha. But there is a phone call that needs your attention. It’s a neighboring pack. Their having trouble with some rogues and are asking for assistance." Cade explained. And Tyler growled but he leaned over and kissed me on the lips as he got up.

"I’ll be back soon." He says leaving and Cade was smirking at me as I got up and he followed Tyler back downstairs.

I walked across the hall to our bedroom and I lied down on the bed feeling a little tired when Bella came bursting in and jumping on the bed.

"Are you right there?" I asked.

"Yeah. You’re not going to sleep, are you?" She asked.

"I’ve been dealing with Tyler all morning. Of course I am trying to get some rest before he comes back." I say.

"Wait until the baby is here. That’s going to be worse." She says.

"Tell me about it. What are you doing in here anyway. I thought you were helping out at the hospital today." I say.

"I was. But I’m finished. Do you want to go baby shopping?" She asked.

"I think Tyler wants to go with me. He wants to do everything baby related of course." I say turning the TV on and flicking through Netflix to try and find something to watch.

"Ooh. The Little Mermaid. Do you remember when we used to watch this as kids?" She asked getting excited and settling into the bed getting ready to watch it. So I guess I had no choice but to press play.

Not long after that Tyler came into the room and saw us lying there watching a Disney movie.

"I think this baby is going to fit in perfectly around here." He says and Bella started laughing.

"What’s going on with that neighboring pack?" I asked.

"I have to head over there now. I’m taking warriors with me. They are having a problem with rogues alright. It’s not a lot of rogues but they are being pests. And hurting people." Tyler says.

"Alright. You guys be safe." I say.

"Carter is acting Alpha until I get back and please don’t leave the pack grounds. We don’t know how many other rogues might be lingering around." He says leaning down and kissing me.

"Okay. But don’t expect me to do what Carter tells me to." I say as he’s walking out the door.

"None of us ever expect that." Tyler scoffs.

Bella and I finished watching the movie and then we went downstairs to the living room and the coffee table was full of photos from our wedding that I was still going through. The large ones were all framed and the smaller ones were ready to be put into an album.

But I grabbed a large canvas print of the entire wedding party and I put it up on the wall in the dining room. And then I grabbed a framed photo of just me and Tyler and I hung it above the fireplace in the living room.

I then sat on the floor next to the coffee table looking through all the photos from the reception and I started sorting them in order of my liking.

Bella helped me with it and Aria ended up joining in. She was bored just hanging around too.

I had a leather-bound album made with Tyler and my name engraved on the cover and I started putting the photos into the album in different sizes and I would put some on different angels. Just to make it look a little nicer and classier. I thought it was anyway and the other two seemed to like it.

"Where do you want this large framed photo of Tyler and his family?" Aria asked.

"I don’t know. Maybe put him and his family on one wall in the foyer and put me and my family on the other wall." I say.

"That would look so good. And it would show them that you are not picking sides on families. That you are all family now." Bella says.

"Yeah. I don’t want Tyler’s family to think that I think mine is more important. I never want them to think that of me." I say.

"Absolutely not. It’s alright. Tyler’s family already loves you. Except for maybe Adam." She says.

"Adam hates everyone. And believe me, the feeling is mutual." I say.

"I saw him working on construction yesterday. Why are there more houses being built?" Aria asked.

"Beats me. I don’t ask about that. Tyler is always letting new members in once they’ve been vetted. He doesn’t trust anyone since the traitor. He makes sure that people are properly vetted." I explain.

"And you don’t care who he lets in?" Bella asked concerned.

"No. I trust Tyler to properly vet people. Do you really think he’s going to let anyone slip through the cracks. Especially with the way he’s been lately. He’s not going to do anything to put me or the baby in danger." I say rolling my eyes.

"Is he really driving you that crazy?" Aria asked.

"Yep." I say popping the ’p’.

When I arrived at the neighboring pack I was taken straight to the packhouse which was a lot smaller than mine and the Alpha was waiting for me.

"Thank you so much for coming to Silver River Pack." Alpha Ryan says shaking my hand. And he gestured for me and Cade to sit down.

"So, how many attacks have there been?" I ask.

"Three, so far. Luckily no deaths. Just attacks and only warriors. They haven’t made it into town yet. But I fear that our luck might be running out. And I think there’s more to these attacks then meets the eye." Alpha Ryan says.

"Why would you say that?" Cade asked.

"Because these photos were found in the woods after each attack." Alpha Ryan says handing them over and I look at the three photos before handing them to Cade.

"Josiah." I say.

"You know him?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah. We killed him in Louisiana several months back. But that doesn’t explain these attacks." I say.

"Could it be retaliation by members of his army that we might have missed?" Cade asked.

"But why would they attack this pack? This pack had nothing to do with it and they know that. They have to know that." I say.

"Maybe it’s a scare tactic to get to us." Cade says.

"We are located pretty close to you guys." Ryan says to me.

"If this is because of us then I am so deeply sorry and I am so happy that no one is dead. I don’t know why they would be attacking you. But Josiah was after my mate. He wanted her for his own sick pathetic pleasures. He was obsessed with her. We had no choice but to kill him." I explained.

"I’m not questioning your motives. He’s a vampire. They always deserve death." Ryan says.

"Well, most of them." I say.

"Sorry. I do know that you have a half vampire mate and her family are vampires. We know all about that." He says.

"It’s alright. I just don’t understand who would be leaving these photos. Angelo went back to New Orleans and scoured the place. There was no one left. No one was there that was connected to Josiah. We got them all." I explained.

"Well, obviously not all of them." Cade says.
