Chapter 11: Chapter 11

TESSA POV

Dr. Missy made me stay in hospital for three days to make sure that I was completely healed and the wolfsbane was out of my system and Tyler stayed there with me the whole time. Except for when he needed to go home and shower. Otherwise, he was leaving the pack up to Cade and Carter.

But when I was finally told that I could leave, I was glad to finally be going home. Tyler picked up my bag from the bed and he held his hand out for me, so I took his hand and he guided me out of the hospital.

The entire staff at the hospital said goodbye to me as I was passing them even though I hadn’t met most of them but Tyler assured me that it was because I was the Luna. And I could only think that it was because they knew what had happened to me.

We got in Tyler’s car that was parked at the entrance and he drove us back to the packhouse. He raced around the car and opened the door for me and I got out of the car and looked up at the house.

I stood there staring at it for a minute before my heart started pounding really loudly and I could hear voices echoing in my head. Voices from that night when I was attacked. I was attacked in this house.

Tyler grabbed my hand quickly which helped calm me down and he looked really concerned. I felt terrified going inside.

"It’s alright. I promise that it’s alright." He said.

"But they’re in there. Aren’t they?" I asked.

"They’re under the house. And they are never going to get you. They can’t get out of the dungeon. I promise you that." He assured me.

We took little steps going into the house and when we opened the door I saw that no one was around.

"You told everyone to leave." I say.

"I didn’t want you to be overwhelmed when you got home. But they do want to see you. They just have to wait." He says. _{fr\eewe.bn(o)v\el.c(o)m}

He leads me up to the third floor and we were approaching my bedroom and I started pulling back away from him. I couldn’t go in there. No way could I go in there.

"Wait Tessa. Come and have a look. I was never going to put you back in that room." Tyler says. So I take a couple of steps closer and I see that the room is completely boarded up. There was no way anyone was getting inside that room now. " I want you to stay in my room now. That’s no pressure, obviously. But I want to keep you close." He says. So he took me to his room and he put my bag on the chair in the corner.

"The bathroom is in here and here is the wardrobe." He says opening the door and all of my stuff has already been moved into it.

"It’s all taken care of." I whispered.

"I wanted to make this as comfortable as possible. And if you want to change anything in this room then you can. It’s our room now. Not just mine." He says.

"Well, it is pretty dark." I teased.

"We can fix that. Some lighter colors wouldn’t hurt." He says.

"Can I have a bath? I...need one." I say.

"Of course you can. You don’t need to ask." He says going into the bathroom and I heard the water start running and then he came back out again.

"Alright. The bath has started for you and I left a towel in there for you. All of your clothes are in there. I’ll be downstairs until you’re finished and you get dressed. If you need anything then I have my phone on me if you don’t want to come downstairs." He says and I nod my head. So he kissed me on the forehead and he left the room.

I went into the bathroom and I got undressed and put my clothes in the hamper and then I got in the bath. I started scrubbing with soap but that didn’t seem to do anything. So I grabbed a scrub brush and I started scrubbing every inch of my skin but it wasn’t working. No matter how hard I scrubbed I couldn’t get clean.

I didn’t stop until I realized that there was blood coming from my arms and legs and I knew that everyone would freak about it. So I quickly washed myself and I got out and dried myself. I got dressed into a long sleeve black shirt and a pair of tracksuit pants.

I looked over towards the window and Tyler had set up my drawing equipment next to the window. My sketchbook was there and pencils and everything had also been restocked.

I grabbed the covers of his bed and I climbed in and pulled the covers back over me but I had left the bathroom light on. This room was pretty dark and I needed a bit of light in there.

The door opened slowly and I jumped up holding the blankets against me and Tyler put his hands up to let me know that it was him and no one else. So I could relax a little bit.

"I’m sorry. Is this your side of the bed. I don’t know. This is the way we slept in my room so I just assumed." I said.

"It’s perfect. That’s you’re side. Looking out facing the bathroom with your back to the window." He says. He climbed on to the bed next to me but he stayed above the covers and he didn’t get too close.

"Feel relaxed since the bath?" He asked.

"I guess." I answered slowly lying down again.

"You don’t want to come down for dinner?" He asked.

"I’m not hungry. But thank you." I said.

"That’s alright. Everyone was just asking about you. They want to see you." He said.

"Not yet." I say shaking my head no.

" It’s alright. You don’t have to see anyone until you’re ready. Did you want me to get some food bought up here?" He asked.

"No. I’m really not hungry." I say.

"You didn’t eat too much in the hospital either." He says. But I didn’t say anything. " Never mind. It’s alright. Let’s watch a movie." He says grabbing the remote and he turned the TV on and he started flicking through the apps until he found a good movie to watch. Nothing violent. Comedy.

I couldn’t laugh at it or anything like that. But I did watch it with him. All I kept thinking was that I wish I could swap places with them. I would love to swap places with them. And not be here where everyone is just going to give me those pity looks. Those looks that I absolutely hated. I didn’t want to face anyone. I just wanted to run away from all of this.

BELLA POV

When dinner was over I saw Cade and my brother walk outside together talking.

"What’s that about?" I asked Aria.

"Who the hell knows with the guys around here? Their all in this secret mens club that no women are allowed to know about. Especially Alpha’s and Beta’s." Aria scoffed. And Carter cleared his throat. " Oh sorry, and gamma’s." Aria said correcting herself.

"Well, do you know what that’s about?" Bella asked.

"Nope. That one’s a mystery even to me." Carter says.

"Don’t worry baby. I’ll make you feel special later." Aria winked at him.

"You bloody better." He says attacking her neck with his mouth and she started laughing.

Cade and Ethan walked back inside and I was eyeing them suspiciously but Ethan just sat back down at his seat and Cade is the one that walked over to me.

"Bella. Do you want to go for a walk?" Cade asked. And I looked at Ethan once more but he was just smirking at me.

"Sure. I guess." Bella says. So I got up and I went outside with Cade and we went around the other side of the house so the people in the dining room couldn’t see us.

"I know that you’re probably wondering what’s going on." Cade started off saying.

"Yeah. You’ve been having a lot of conversations with my brother lately. Private conversations." I say.

"Well, they’ve all been about you." Cade admitted and I stopped walking. I looked up at him and I was wondering what he was talking about. He started looking increasingly nervous and it’s the first time I’ve seen him like this. He’s usually pretty strong and put together.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me this weekend." Cade asked.

"Are you serious? You want to go out with me?" I asked skeptically.

"More than anything." He answers quickly.

"Holy shit. We’re mates." I say.

"Well, I wasn’t going to tell you until a little later on. But yeah. And I wanted to take you on a date first so that we could get to know each other a lot better." Cade admitted.

"I’d love to." I say. And his face lit up pretty quickly when I said that.

"Okay. How about Friday night?" He asked.

"Sounds like a date." I say.

When we went back inside I sat back down at my seat next to Aria and I looked around to see that Tyler and Tessa still weren’t there. So I grabbed my phone.

ME - Hey Tessa, are you coming to dinner? We’re all having fun here. I’m about to tell everyone how you painted Wyatt’s room for him.

But I got no response and I was a little disappointed at that. I guess she wasn’t up for seeing anyone right now.

"What’s wrong?" Ethan asked.

"I just messaged Tessa to see if she was coming to dinner. She didn’t answer. I guess she’s not ready yet." I explained.

"Do you realize how long it’s going to take her to be able to move on from this?" Ethan asked.

"I know. I was just hoping that having us here would help. I guess not. I even told her that I was about to tell everyone how she painted Wyatt’s room that time." I say. and Wyatt choked on his food.

"Don’t you fucking dare." He yelled at me and Ethan started laughing.

"Yeah. I think that’s a story that needs to be told." Ethan agreed.

"Dude. You’re meant to be my best friend." Wyatt yelled.

"And she’s my sister. What am I supposed to do here." Ethan defended him.

"Alright. So Wyatt thought it would be really funny to play a prank of Tessa when we were about 10. We stayed up and watched a scary movie with Wyatt and Ethan and then Wyatt dressed up in a Halloween costume and jumped out from a cupboard and scared the shit out of both of us as we were walking through our very large and deadly quiet packhouse. Tessa swore that she would get him back 10 times worse but he laughed it off thinking that she was just a dumb kid...Well, she waited. Tessa has so much patients. And she knew that if any payback was going to work then it needed to be when Wyatt had forgotten about it. So she waited for three weeks. And then Wyatt and Ethan came back from a party. They were 16 at the time and Wyatt wasn’t alone. He bought a girl home with him." I explained setting up the scene for everyone. " As soon as Wyatt walked into his room there was an explosion. The whole house shook and we thought we were under attack. We weren’t. Tessa had placed bombs all around the ceiling of Wyatt’s room while he was at the party. They were set to go off when he opened the door but they were on delay until he walked further into the room and the bombs that Tessa had created all had pink and purple paint in them. The whole room, Wyatt and his little slut that night were covered in house paint that didn’t just wash off. Wyatt was pink and purple for a week but didn’t get all of it off of him for at least a month." I explained with the whole dining room exploding with laughter.

"Man. Remind me never to piss her off." Aria says.

"Oh. That’s just one of the stories. I’ve got so many of them. And most of them are directed at Wyatt. It sort of became a little war between the two of them. They were so desperate to get the better of each other. And Wyatt could never outdo Tessa’s pranks. They were legendary. Especially when she messed with his car." I said.

"That bitch cut my brakes ones." Wyatt yelled defending himself.

"That was hilarious. He was headed straight for the packhouse and all you could hear was him screaming in the front seat before he finally swerved and hit a tree instead of the house. And by the way, the big bad wolf was squealing like a fucking girl." I laugh.

"I hate you Bella." Wyatt says.

"I know. And I wouldn’t have it any other way." I laugh out. But he glared at me. And I poked my tongue at him. Everyone else was loving the stories.

"So, you and Tessa really are best friends." Aria says.

"Ever since we were in diapers. I don’t actually remember when we met. That’s how young we were. Tessa was just always there. She was always my protector. Even when Ethan was there. If anyone at school tried to pick on me then Tessa told them to go through her. And no one ever did. They weren’t game enough to. She was always tall for her size. And I think they didn’t know what she was really capable of." I explained.

"It depends on how old she was. I started training her when she was 12." Tobias says. And Ethan and Wyatt both looked at him strange.

"Girls aren’t allowed to train in our pack." Ethan says.

"They weren’t. But I found Tessa beaten to a pulp in the hospital one day when she was 12 and I knew that she needed help. She never told me what happened but she didn’t have to. So I started training her in private." Tobias explained.

"Holy shit. We had no clue." Wyatt says.

"If she wasn’t so full of all that poison, she’d be a pretty deadly weapon. I feel sorry for anyone wanting to go up against her." Tobias says.

"Wow. That was pretty decent of you man." Ethan says.

"I just did what I had to to make sure that a young girl didn’t get killed by her father. I should have done more." Tobias says.

"There wasn’t anything more you could do. Trust me." I say. And he nodded his head.

"That’s right. Everyone knows the stories of Alpha Matthias and Beta Danny who rule that pack with an iron fist. There are even rumors going around that they killed people for trying to escape the pack." Cade says.

"No. They didn’t do that." Ethan says.

"Actually, they did. An entire family. To make an example out of them. The parents and the children." I say just above a whisper but I knew that they all heard me.

"I’m gonna kill him. We have to kill that son of a bitch." Ethan snapped.

"Well, I think that’s the plan." Cade says.
