Chapter 10: Chapter 10

BELLA POV

"Bella, what the hell are you doing?" Ethan yelled from the other side of the bars as I pulled a syringe out of my pocket.

"What needs to be done." I replied coldly while staring at Mason. He looked weak. He hadn’t eaten in a while. Sleep deprived. But I know that he was still stronger than me. A couple days in this place doesn’t mean that I can take him on. That was never going to happen.

But then I started stalking towards Mason and he stood up looking all big and tough against me and he really was. He was huge compared to my tiny stature. But I didn’t care. I really didn’t. I just saw what he did to my best friend. Something that no one ever deserves.

He started walking towards me and I could hear the panick in Ethan’s voice and Tyler was screaming for the guards to get the other key. But Mason lunged at me and I knew that this was going to be my only chance.

When He knocked me to the ground and was on top of me I jabbed the saringe into his stomach and injected the clear liquid.

He immediately looked down and rolled off of me so I scrambled to my feet.

"Wolfsbane is a real bitch isn’t it?" I asked and I saw Tyler lying on the ground and he started writhing in pain and not being able to get up or move from where he was.

The others in the hallway got quiet after that and I reached down into my boot and pulled out a leather pouch. I unwrapped it to reveal and silver knife with a black leather handle. The handle was so I didn’t burn myself. But the rest was silver. And as soon as Mason saw it he tried to wriggle away from me, but he couldn’t.

"What’s the matter Mason. Not so tough now, are you? You actually look scared of me. A tiny pathetic little girl who you always thought of as expendable." I say as I stalk closer to him.

" Well, I’m not so weak and pathetic now, am I?" I asked as i sliced his arm with a shallow cut and he screamed in pain from the burning of the silver.

A guard ran back into the hall with another key to get into the cell but Tyler stopped him from unlocking the door.

"Let’s just watch the show for bit. Bella seems to know what she’s doing." Tyler says.

"We all have to learn this shit at some point." Wyatt says casually leaning on the wall behind us.

"I don’t want this to destroy Bella." Ethan says.

"She’s stronger than you think. You’ve been gone for years. Tessa was her protector and this son of a bitch just tried to kill Tessa. Bella needs to do this." Tobias says. And I made another shallow cut on his other arm with the silver blade.

"Please. Stop." Mason screamed.

"Did Tessa beg you to stop? Did she beg you to stop raping her when she was 8 years old? Or 10 years old? Or 15 years old? Or two nights ago? Did she beg you to stop torturing her for the last 10 years? My guess is that she did. And you didn’t listen to her." I say calmly while slicing him again on the chest.

Mason tried to say something else so I stabbed the knife into his leg. " Shut the fuck up. You don’t get to talk anymore. You don’t get to call the shots anymore. You’re nothing. You’re locked in a cell and I’m pretty sure that when Tyler has finished with you, you’ll be praying for death. I’m sure he has much more in store for you." I yelled.

"Actually, this is looking pretty good here. I like this form of torture. Can you do the other two when you’re finished in there?" Tyler asked.

"With pleasure." I smiled at him.

I wasn’t possessed. I wasn’t out of my mind. I knew exactly what I was doing. And I knew exactly when to stop. Tyler was bleeding and not healing from every limb on his body and torso and face. But they weren’t enough to kill him. Just enough to keep him in torturous pain for a long time. _{fre/ew.ebnovel.c om}

They decided against me having a go at the other two for the time being. We headed back to the hospital and I walked into Tessa’s room and that girl Rachel was in there alone looking at Tessa’s IV bag.

"What the hell are you doing in here?" Tyler asked pushing past me.

"I was just checking on her." Rachel says jumping back.

"What were you doing with her IV?" Tyler demanded.

"Tyler." A weak voice. And we all snapped our heads to the side to see Tessa with her eyes barely open.

Tyler rushed to her side and cupped her face and kissed her forehead.

"You’re finally awake. I can’t believe you’re finally awake." Tyler said to her.

"Rachel." She croaked out.

"Rachel. She’s right here." Tyler says.

"No. Rachel let them in." Tessa mumbled out. And Tyler jumped up and turned around but Rachel was gone.

Ethan, Wyatt and Tobias all went after her and Tyler mind linked the whole pack to look out for her. Keep an eye out for her and don’t let her leave the territory.

Tyler and I stayed by Tessa’s side and Tyler kept getting mind links from his pack members.

"She was just spotted near her house and she took off into the woods. They’re still searching." Tyler told me.

Tessa was still in and out of consciousness and couldn’t say a whole lot. Dr. Missy came in to check on her and said that everything was fine. That she was going to be fine. She’s just a little groggy from everything right now. But she will make a full recovery.

I looked at Tyler’s face when he heard that news and it was nothing but relief when he heard that.

"You really love her, don’t you?" I asked.

"She’s my mate. She’s my everything." He answered.

"And what about that Rachel bitch? She was practically all over you when you got here this morning." I said.

"I was engaged to Rachel when I met Tessa. She definitely wasn’t happy about the situation and no one could blame her. Tessa even felt sorry for her and hated the position she put Rachel in. She didn’t want to accept the fact that we weren’t going to get married. But I honestly didn’t think that she would ever go this far. I didn’t think that she had it in her to do something like this." Tyler explained.

"Don’t beat yourself up about it. Tessa was being raped for almost 10 years in the same house as me and I didn’t even know. She never once let on about it. I think the last time it happened was a couple days before the party. When you found her." I admitted. And he snapped his head up.

"I thought it stopped long before that." Tyler says.

"Nope. It was still happening and again, I didn’t even know. She never told me. I didn’t notice a difference in her. I was too busy feeling sorry for myself because my dad was hitting me. I had no idea that Tessa was getting it worse." I admitted as a tear fell down my face.

"She obviously hid it for a reason. Tobias said that she was your protector. I’m guessing that’s why she didn’t want you to know. She needed to be the strong one." Tyler says.

"Yeah. That must be it. I have to be." I said. " We can’t go home after this." I say looking down.

"Don’t worry about that. You guys are welcome to stay here as long as you want. You never need to go back there if you don’t want to." Tyler says.

"You really are a good guy. I’m glad that Tessa has you. Maybe now she can stop being so brave and she can actually let someone else take care of her." I say but Tyler scoffs.

"I don’t think she’ll ever let anyone else take care of her. She doesn’t know how to. She’s been taking care of herself for too long. It would be too weird for her." He said. And I chuckle at that.

"I think you might be right." I said.

Someone had made up some rooms for Ethan, Wyatt, Tobias and myself at the packhouse and the Beta came to get me to take me to the Packhouse to get some dinner and get settled in to my room. But Tyler stayed at the hospital and Cade had bought some food for him. Knowing that he wasn’t going to leave Tessa.

TYLER POV

After Cade came to get Bella and take her to the packhouse I ate a little of the food that he gave me but I didn’t have much of an appetite. I couldn’t believe that Rachel would do something like this. How she could hurt other women like this. All because she was that desperate to be the Luna.

Everyone tried to warn me. They all suspected that it was Rachel that let them in but I didn’t believe it. Why the fuck didn’t I believe it. And then she tried to kill Tessa again and would have done so if I hadn’t interrupted her. She was messing with Tessa’s IV.

To be honest, I don’t know who I can trust right now. So I am not leaving Tessa’s side until she is back at home and in my bedroom. She isn’t going to want to go back to that room where she was attacked. Just another bad nightmare for her to relive. One that I promised would never happen. I let her down. I should never have gone to that Ball. I should have stayed here with her. She wouldn’t have been attacked.

I got up to stretch my legs and I was looking out the window and I could see the patrol passing by. They were guarding the hospital in case Rachel came back to finish off what she started. But they were still searching everywhere. And I had people stationed all around the boarder. So she was still here somewhere. She was damn good at hiding because she had a whole wolf pack looking for her. And that made me wonder if I had more than one traitor. Was someone hiding her.

’Any luck finding Rachel’s trail?’ I asked the pack.

’No Alpha.’ They all said, almost in unison.

’Alright. Step two. Search every house in the territory. I don’t know how many traitors I have here. And make sure you check every room of the packhouse. She could be hiding there somewhere. That would be the last place we would look for her.’ I commanded the warriors and I cut the link.

I went back and sat next to Tessa and held her hand again and this time I felt her hand move. I thought that she might have been dreaming or something but then her head started moving and she slowly opened her eyes.

"Baby. Baby, can you hear me?" I asked.

"Tyler." Tessa says.

"Yeah. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere." I say to her.

"I was asleep. I didn’t hear them." She mumbled out.

"Shhhhh. Don’t think about it. They knew what they were doing. They had it perfectly planned out. There’s no way you could have known. I’m just so glad that you’re alright." I say kissing her hand. And I saw a tear roll down her face.

I knew straight away that she was remembering what happened to her that night. She wasn’t saying anything, like she was staring into space. She was remembering everything that they did and more tears started flowing down.

"I’m not going to hurt you. You know that don’t you?" I asked. And she shook her head yes. So I slowly climbed up on the bed with her and I lied on my side and pulled her into my chest and started rubbing circles on her back. And she completely broke down once I was hugging her. She clutched my shirt and she was crying and I knew that now she started, she wasn’t going to stop any time soon. This was going to be a long way back for her.

Dr. Missy came in to check on her but I held my hand up telling her not now. So she shook her head and walked back out again.

Tessa didn’t say anything. She just cried while she clung on to me and she wasn’t going to let go. It felt like she didn’t want to let go. I tried to adjust a little bit to give her some more room on the bed but she pulled me back and wouldn’t let me leave her. She made me stay there. Holding her while she cried.

She ended up crying herself to sleep and I ended up falling asleep next to her. Her heart rate monitor was actually soothing. Listening to how calm it was when she was asleep. Except when it would start to spike. Her heart rate would start racing while she was asleep but she wasn’t moving.

A nurse came in to check on her and she was looking at it weird. Thinking that it was malfunctioning.

"She’s having a nightmare." I tell the nurse. And she just nodded her head and left the room. So I pulled Tessa closer and that seemed to calm her. Being near a mate always made a wolf calm down. She had a lot of trauma that was hard to calm down from, but if I was close enough then I could tell that it would working. She was calming down. Even if it was just a little. It made me happy to know that she needed me by her side.

By the middle of the night, I finally got the mind link that I had been waiting for.

’Alpha.’ A warrior said through the link.

’What is it?’ I asked coarsely.

’We have Rachel. We found her hiding in someone’s house. We are taking the whole lot of them to the dungeons.’ The warrior says.

’Good work. I’ll deal with them later. Make sure that she sees what has happened to Mason. Put her in the cell next to him.’ I ordered.

’With pleasure.’ He said.
