Chapter 90: Not His Mom
"Fizzy..." She pulled his arm. "Fizzy, am I not beautiful as your mom?" she asked. He did not look at her. She let out a sigh.
"I know... Apart from the hair color, your mom and I have nothing in common. Your mother had a bit of dark, beautiful copper shade of red hair, while I am a carrot top. I can see why you are offended," she added rubbing his back.
And oddly, she drew another parallel with his mom. She wondered if she should talk to him about it.
"Carrot top?" Liam turned to face her. "Honey, you’re not a carrot top. You are a firehead. The fire in your heart oozes out of your head. It is pretty." He held her cheek.
His blue eyes lingered over her face for some time. After the little exercise they did, his skin was flushed and he looked mesmerizingly hot.
"Your sapphire blue eyes that are like pools of life eternal that could douse even the fires of hell... Your beautiful hair that is pretty as the flame Prometheus brought to earth, your plump, rosy cheeks that hold the innocence of childhood, those lips..." he pinched her lower lip.
"... those lips red as a cherry, that perfect cupid bow that would make me lose myself..." he kissed her lips. "You are prettier than my mother...And...Always running behind me, being there for me when I need you...Cherry, you are nothing like my mother. I don’t know what she was like. But from what I remember, she was just an empty shell and not even close to being lively as you," he kissed her forehead.
"Oh, Fizzy, don’t go resent your mother now. She couldn’t help it. She was depressed!"
"I know..." Liam smiled. "I know that very well. I’m just saying that your wild and lively character is what attracted me to you; not your appearance..." he looked at her face once more. "Well, not just your appearance..."
Rory placed her hand over her pounding heart. "You say that after all your poetic description of my appearance," she buried her face in his chest. "I agree that you don’t have Oedipus Complex... Also, they are not even considering it a thing these days," she said and pulled away from him.
"Why?" he pulled her closer to his chest.
"Let me fix my clothes... this awful hospital gown," she pouted. "You didn’t even undress but you made me naked," she pinched him.
"Oww!" Liam chuckled rubbing where she pinched him. "Should we leave for home?" he asked. He could see that she does not like wearing the hospital gown.
"Yeah... about that..." Rory looked at him pondering about something.
"What is it?" Liam asked.
"Where will we stay?" she asked. "Your uncle’s family is staying in your home. By the way, uncle Lennon brought me a fruit basket," she pointed at the fruit basket on the table. "And Derick is there with his fiancee. Eldest UNcle will be there in a day or two. Won’t your house become crowded?"
"It will..." Liam caressed her hair. His lips curved seeing the hickey on her neck. He wondered if he should tell her but then decided not to.
But rather than being happy for the hickey he left, he was more worried for Rory. She loved to stay in his "crowded" home. But now, she looks averted to that idea. He watched her pondering deeply about something.
"Hey, Liam," Rory looked at him. "Sit on me."
Liam did not understand her. They made love just now and now she is asking him to sit on her. He wondered if she is implying something sexual. But he didn’t want to jump to conclusions or ask her only to get scolded by her. So he waited for clarification.
"Here," Rory patted her thighs. "Sit and...Come on!" she urged him.
"Why?" Liam asked while doing what she asked of him.
Rory laid back and shifted so she could be laying the same way she does in her usual nightmares. There would be a dark figure on her and she wanted to see if Liam could replace that dark figure.
"There... sit there...wait..." she drew out one of her legs and Liam was sitting on one of her thighs. He was on his knees without resting his entire weight on her.
Rory gulped. It was oddly the same feeling she would get on her legs when she has her nightmares. "Now, cover my mouth with your hands," she asked him.
Liam furrowed his brows. He did not like to do what she is asking of him. "Cherry, what are you~"
"Do what I say, Fizzy!" She raised her voice and he did so after letting out a sigh.
"Tighter... press my mouth tighter, and bend your elbows. Get closer to my face," she asked. He did so, but she could feel that he was holding back his strength. She pulled his hands to press on her mouth harder. A small part of his hands covered one of her nostrils and she could slowly feel herself losing her breath.
Although one of her nostrils was entirely free, it was hard for her to breathe. With his face close to hers, all she could breathe was the air let out by him. His elbows were pressing on her chest making it much harder for her to breathe.
It is exactly the same feeling!
Liam tried to get up from her. Her face had gone red and she was out of breath. And she looked terrified. But Rory did not let him leave.
"That’s enough, Cherry!" He gritted his teeth and pulled out of her grip. "Enough!" He got down from her.
Rory took in deep breaths and rolled to her belly. She buried her head in the pillow avoiding looking at him.
"Cherry! Tell me what’s wrong," he forcibly rolled her over. She covered her face with her hands.
"Aurora!" He pulled her hands and his heart skipped a beat seeing her red eyes.
"What is wrong, honey?" He hugged her.
"Nothing... Nothing..." Rory didn’t want to talk to him about it.
When she tried to recreate the nightmare, she got the idea that her nightmare might not be a nightmare. It might have been something that happened actually that had stuck with her and is returning as a nightmare.
There are only two instances she could guess that someone would be on top of her.
Someone might have wanted to choke and kill her... Or the worst... He might have wanted to take her.
But where could it have happened?
"Aurora, be honest with me," Liam cupped her cheeks to have her look at him.
"Fizzy..." Rory loked at him and tears flowed freely from her eyes. "I might not be that different from your mother after all!" She hugged his neck and started to sob.
Liam’s heart broke hearing her muffled sobs.
"Is this about the nightmares, Cherry?" Liam finally understood what she wanted to reciprocate.
And like my mom... Does she think that the nightmare might be...
Mrs. Delport’s words echoed in his mind again.
No... No... It can’t be!
