Chapter 107: The Night Before They Ruled Part 2

The prince grabbed her wrists with one hand, and pinned them above her head just an inch away from the bedpost. Elys still wouldn’t stop resisting him, and she even tried to reach for his arm with her mouth as she attempted to bite him.

The princess almost got to him, but Aleksander was able to dodge.

"I can easily kill you right now, if you so wish to go down that path with me. But I won’t," he said, "I don’t know what you did to me, but somehow, I just find myself slowly being invested in everything about you."

"Lies," Elys hissed at him.

Aleksander’s eyes turned sorrowful for a fraction of a moment.

"Do you not see me as someone who can levy you to where you want to be?" he asked her.

Elys stopped struggling for a second as she paused to think of a reply, "Well, now that you asked about it, funny how I used to think that I could use you to squeeze myself into the vampire society as I slowly kill your kind so I could liberate the remaining people of the Northern Kingdom."

"Then if you want to, I can do that once I get to the crown," Aleksander said, his eyes pleading, "Abandon your stubborn attitude, my dear wife, and we can get your revenge done as well."

"I don’t trust you enough, Prince Aleksander," Elys whispered in a hushed tone. "I lied when I told you that you could fight back against those that mock you. I don’t think you have it in you at all."

Aleksander sighed. He couldn’t believe they were now back to square one again. Elys wasn’t seeing him eye to eye, her judgement clouded by the fact that Aleksander’s change of heart was purely just so he could convince her to help him with his revenge.

"I genuinely think that you are one of the greatest blessings that ever came to me, and I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by," the prince confessed.

Elys might have thought the prince was bluffing when he confessed his feelings for the princess, but Aleksander had been telling the truth.

Although he wasn’t sure if he liked the princess in a romantic way, he was sure that Elys held his interest to the point he would stop at nothing to get her to join him in his quest for revenge.

"How romantic," the princess spat sarcastically. "Should I bat my lashes and swoon now? Do you want me to fall for your half-baked promises?"

"No, this isn’t entirely romantic as well," Aleksander shook his head, and then paused as a thought crossed his mind, "but if you want me to, I could at least try. Would that make you say yes then to my request?"

Fearing instant rejection from the already pissed off princess, Aleksander didn’t even wait for Elys’ response to his last question.

He let out a low guttural growl as his legs pressed on hers to keep her from resisting, and then his lips came crashing down on hers.

"Mmm!!!"

The princess was taken off guard by the kiss, and somehow, she felt the intoxicating pheromones from the vampire prince mellow her down.

Although Elys had pretended to know the art of seduction, this was to her, the first kiss she had ever experienced. She couldn’t understand the reason she had turned submissive when all she wanted was to eradicate his kind.

Why was she resisting less instead of fighting him off of her?

Was it another ability of the prince?

The princess’ mind was swimming with the sensation of his lips on hers, his brash tongue exploring her mouth. Aleksander’s hold on her slipped, but Elys didn’t even notice until Aleksander stopped kissing her.

When he saw to it that the princess had calmed down, the prince withdrew from the kiss and said, "I may be a prince of this kingdom, but I never wanted to rule it nor see it prosper."

Elys’ hands slid down from above her head to touch her lips. They felt so tender after his kiss, a warm and fuzzy feeling surrounding her.

The princess regarded the prince with much hatred, and she hissed, "Then what do you want, your highness? Fame, freedom, power?"

She didn’t want to admit it to herself, but despite Aleksander forcing that kiss, Elys still found her heart beating wildly because of it.

What makes her furious was the fact that it actually made her feel good – which then sent alarms blaring inside her head. Why did it have to be this time when her heart and brain didn’t want to cooperate and do the same thing?

Aleksander saw how Elys had been so preoccupied with her thoughts that she didn’t even notice he had completely got off of her. When Elys did finally realize it, she was too confused and asked the prince again her question which was left unanswered.

"What do you really want, Prince Aleksander?" the princess asked.

"I want this kingdom to fall apart, I want to hunt down the people who made my life a misery, burn those that humiliated me," Aleksander answered her. "Must I say it three times for you to believe me that we have the same ambitions, wife?"

Princess Elysianne didn’t even answer the prince’s question. Instead, she fired him with her own counter question.

"And where do I fit in that grand plan of yours, your highness, soon to be king, Prince Aleksander?" the princess asked, humoring him just a bit by saying he was soon to be king. "Don’t tell me love can conquer anything, because that is some serious crappy thing to say."

The prince smiled and his canines glinted in the moonlight.

A cold wind blew from the open window and the princess bit down her impulse to tremble under his smoldering gaze.

"Lend me your power Princess Elysianne... become my queen, and we shall get our revenge served in a silver platter."
