Eric stood outside the courtroom in a daze. "I’m.... free....." he gazed up at the sky. it was a pleasant day with beautiful clouds floating above them.

Haolei came up behind him and gently patted his back. "Ready to head back home?"

"No, I still have one more thing to do." he took out the healing crystal and the life-saving potion. "Haolei let’s head to the hospital. I have been away for too long. its time to wake him up..."

This past week, he had been doing daily tasks non-stop and had earned enough to buy another life-saving potion.

Haolei silently drove him to the hospital.

All alone the way Eric had a bright smile on his face. Today was the best day in this world. He was set free and now he was going to wake his lover up. ’Will he hug me and cry... he is fucking adorable when he is crying... I wish I had seen Aaron as a young boy too. He must have been so adorable...’ he giggled.

in his past life, he had met Aaron only when his lover was at the mature age of twenty-nine. but after they had gotten married, he pestered Aaron until he showed his teenage pictures.

Aaron was an adorable child with a cute expressionless face all his life.

seeing a young Bai Yuri made him think about Aaron’s childhood as well. in essence these two were the same people but they had different faces. even so, the cute expression Bai makes was so similar to the ones Aaron used to make when he was young.

"Did you sleep yesterday?"

without a word, Haolei moved the rearview mirror so that he could get a good look at his face.

Eric gasped touching his face. He had been cultivating every night and his body has been growing stronger. But yesterday was another story. He was so fucking nervous about the hearing that he couldn’t sleep at all. so, his eyebags had returned with a vengeance.

"Do I look awful? I don’t want him to see my ugly face. Quick, stop at that condensate store. I’ll buy some concealer or something to hide this atrocity."

Haolei laughed and tugged at his nose. "You look good. Besides that kid won’t even be able to see properly after waking up."

"that’s true. I heard coma patients can’t walk well as well. After he wakes up, I will stay will him all day every day and help him with his physical and mental recovery. He likes being clingy you know. He is such a cutie pie." He sighed just imagining their futures together.

Haolei glanced at him curiously. "How on earth did you guys even meet?

"Astral projections. It’s technically like talking in your dream. we met that way. I was half expecting Aaron to be there but guess what my lover killed himself to be reborn into this world with me." his smile slowly went down thinking about his beloved Aaron.

"He... he didn’t have to do that. I would have gone back to that world anyway. But it would have taken me a few years. He just needed to patiently wait.... I mean in his position I would have done the same... I can’t image a world without Aaron...." He whispered.

Just thing about the death of his lover caused a sting in his heart. he tightly closed his eyes and shook his head. ’Aaron is alive. His soul is in Bai Yuri... there is nothing wrong with that. Just as I am not in Zhu Kang’s body anymore.. just a different shell." He thought to himself touching his aching heart.

The car came to a stop.

Looking around he noticed that they were in the familiar parking lot.

A bright smile bloomed on his face. "Quick, let’s go." He threw open the door and ran to the elevator. While it was coming down from the top floor, he anxiously bit his lips.

"Stop that. You’re hurting yourself." Haolei gently pulled out the bottom lip that was being chewed on by him.

"Oh... I’m so nervous Haolei... I’m so fucking nervous. we are meeting in real life for the first time and I look like this..." He glanced at his blurry reflection on the elevator door. He hurriedly arranged his hair and checked on his face.

Since he had a court hearing he had dressed formally. this black dress shirt and grey pants were Haolei’s old clothes, the only ones that fit him well.

’Shall I kiss him awake or shall I just jolt him up? he deserves to be punished for what he did to himself in his last life. But punishing him for a thing he doesn’t remember is cruel. I’ll just kiss him awake, princess style."

Giggling he entered the elevator.

They directly went to the VIP wards at the top floors.

Eric walked up to the familiar door and stood there for a second. taking a deep breath, he walked in.

The visitor’s room was empty and the patient’s room was covered up in a privacy screen.

He slowly walked up to the screen. "oh how I missed you. I wanted to meet you every single day.... I miss your smile I miss your hugs.... Its time to wake up darling. Your husband is back." he wiped the tears off his face.

The screen opened all of a sudden and an old lady glanced at him with a smoldering smile. "ohh mama. Did my grandson send you in? I want to hug you too~" she held up her arms. "Come on give me some sugar."

Eric froze. be backed away two steps. "Wrong room." Be hurriedly left the room.

Haolei who was waiting outside frowned. "That was short."

"Wrong room. the old lady in there thought I was sent by her grandson and wanted some sugar? should we get her some from the canteen...."

Haolei let out a loud sigh. "That is not the sugar she wanted. let’s find your lover first."

Eric glanced at the door. "I’m sure Bai was in this same room before..... did they change his room?" he glanced around and spotted a young male nurse in the corner.

As he stepped close the nurse glanced up at him. "How may I help you?"

"Umm, the patient in room 206... was he changed to a different ward?"

The nurse blinked confusedly for a second. "Wait a minute I’ll check on it for you. Who might you be? are you the patient’s relative, if not we can’t share any details with you sir"

"Husband. I’m his husband" He smiled up at the nurse.

for a second the nurse faltered in his step and a bright flush spared across his face. "o-oh... I see. Let me check the system.."

after checking the system, the nurse gazed at him weirdly. "right.....well, the papers say he is gone.... ."

"Huh?" Eric peered at him intently. ’g-gone.....dead? He died......... How did.. how did he die! he couldn’t have died! It’s not possible at all!’ his heart stopped right then and there.

clutching his chest Eric fell to the ground.

"Sir!! are you in pain?" the nurse and Haolei hurriedly grabbed at his shoulders and shook him slightly.

Eric felt faint. tears clouded his vision already. "I already have his cure.. why did he die.... why....he.. he can’t be gone...."

The nurse panicked. "Sir he is not dead!!"

Eric frowned. "What?" he sat up straight. "He is not dead?"

"Yes, he was discharged."

"Man, your use of words is atrocious. Why would anyone use the words gone in a hospital!!" he grabbed his collar and shook him up before letting him go. panting Eric glared down at him. When was he discharged." The Bai family must have changed Bai Yuri to a different hospital. "Where did they move him to?"

"I can’t tell you that sir."

Eric frowned deeply. "Why did they suddenly change the hospital?"

"There was a problem with the safety protocol. they didn’t feel safe here."

Eric tightly gripped the sheet of discharge papers the nurse handed over to him. "ohhh...." It was because of him that Bai Yuri changed hospitals.

He glanced at Haolei. "Can you track them down? It’s all my fault."

"I’ll try to ask around. It’s not that odd for another hospital to take in a coma patient but since Bai Yuri is a VIP one, he might be easy to find." Haolei whispered grabbing his phone.

"Coma? he woke up..." the nurse mumbled to himself as he arranged his collar.

Eric caught it with his keen hearing. once again, the poor nurse was grabbed by his collar and shook around. "What did you say now? He woke up?"

"Hmm, he woke up five days ago. He was deemed healthy so he was discharged."

Eric did not know what went on after that. he vaguely felt someone grab him by his hip and throw him over his shoulders. he was gently placed on thee back seat. ’How did he wake up....’
