The Rogue System [BL]
Chapter 187 - Failure

Chapter 187: Chapter 187 - Failure

Eric had to climb back down the tree. Climbing a tree was not that hard, but clinging down in the dark was quite hard. he almost slipped at two spots. But he held on. He carefully climbed down, making sure not to trample on the corpse under the tree. "Ghost boy, you just stay here. I’ll come back in a minute."

The ghost boy looked genuinely confused by this. he looked at the wall and then at Eric.

Eric just gestured for him to stay here and ran into the house.

The barriers he had broken had disappeared. He did not have to use his dagger to get back in.

By now it was highly possible that the monk had been aware of his barrier being broken, so he carefully tred into the house. Nearing his room, he froze. There was a weird feeling of being watched from the other corner.

He glanced back and to all sides. He was not able to find anything suspicious or anything out of place.

He glanced at the pond for a second. The white and pink lotuses swayed in the wind slightly.

Eric froze. There was no wind in there.

"Jung...." A voice called him.

Eric slowly glanced back.

The monk was standing there with a grin on his face. He was still dressed in his monk’s attire. He probably was waiting for him to escape from his place.

’Shit he anticipated this. What can I do...’

"Master...." He cutely looked up at him.

"Jung, you have been a bad bad boy. Why are you out of your room tonight?" the monk stepped close.

Eric skillfully hid the dagger in his clothes. "I was sleepless o I wanted to roam around. But master, there was something weird. I think there is a ghost who lives here."

The monk raised his brow. "Oh? Where is it? Let the master deal with it,"

"It was in front of my room. It was trying to stop me from leaving didn’t know why. You must take a good look at it, master," saying so he was slowly heading over to his room.

At least this place had a door he could defend himself a bit...only a bit.

The monk stepped closer relentlessly with that dangerous smile on his face.

Eric knew that had fucked up already

’it’s all that system’s fault! Now I could have already left this place! Book be darned! I just want to leave..’

{’host you must not leave those books behind. Without it, you and your loved ones will die.’}

’Adding new things now! System! Do you hate me so much?’

{’no host, I’m just trying to help you,’}

’Fucking help. You are only trying to get me killed.’ Eric slowly backed away.

The monk reached out his hand to grab him.

This was his cue.

Eric bolted. He bolted towards the cultivation room.

"Jung, don’t run~"

The monk ran after him.

Eric glanced at his short legs resentfully. If he had been in his adult form, he could have run much faster but he was unable to run even a few meters without panting.

The monk caught up to him. He grabbed the back of his collar and lifted him up. "you have been a very very naughty boy, Jung. It looks like only ice room can teach you discipline."

Eric trembled in fear. ’so, he is not going to kill me, only trap me. That is also good. he is waiting for my fifteenth birthday. I have a chance to escape... but Fuckkkkkkkk you, fucking system, I hate you!’

He was heartlessly thrown into that ice room.

instantly Eric felt his limbs starting to freeze over. he hurriedly started to cultivate to keep his body warmth.

The monk peered at him. "How did you break my barriers?"

"The ghost boy did." He blamed it all on the ghost boy. As of now, he had no way but to do it. if the monk found out that he had his dagger he would apprehend it.

’Sorry ghost boy, I have to risk your life to save mine.’ He tremblingly glanced at the monk. "isn’t he a bad person master... that ghost boy kept breaking things that master set up."

"yes, he is a very bad boy," the monk looked at him skeptically. "You... you are not lying, right?"

"How can I lie to my master? You are paramount to my parent. I would never lie to your master. I am dedicated only to you." He shyly looked at his feet. "I admire you so much that I write about you every night after. You are the sole reason I exist."

Eric made up stuff as it went. This monk seemed like a vain person so he kept praising him. And plus, he has that diary from the original owner who was obsessed with this monk. It gave him a good alibi.

At least the monk’s vigilance would reduce slightly around him.

The monk left the ice room and locked it behind him.

Eric let out a deep breath of relief. "Escape plan failure. System, come out! Tell me where that book is?"

{’the books are in the monk’s room.’}

"Good... good it’s in the lion’s jaws... I have to put my hand in there to take it out. I’m most likely going to lose my life. Fuck this. I have yet to meet Bai and I have yet to heal him. I can’t afford to die. system, I blame you. You bastard it’s all because of you," he grumbled, hugging his knees tightly.

Even with cultivation, he was feeling cold invading his body. His breath came out in small clouds of icy air.

He hurriedly cultivated to keep himself warm. "should I talk to Bai now... or should I try to escape again tonight....."

He closed his eyes thinking of what he can do.

The monk was obviously awake right now. How can he possibly think of escape again? If he tried the monk would lose his patience and kill him right then and there.

Even though he had his dagger, he was not that confident.

First of all, his body was small and weak.

Second of all, he was unsure how powerful that monk was. With his ability to use barriers, he was most likely more powerful that a fully grown adult.

With his child’s body, he would ’t be able to have a direct confrontation with him.

"Connect to Bai..."

He needed emotional support right now because..... things were not looking up.

The next second he closed his eyes he appeared in that white space. Even in this place, he was freezing.

Bai ran to him worriedly. "What is going on with you? Your hair.. they are frozen.. are you out of there? Is it snowing outside? you must have gotten a coat"

"no..... I got caught. He trapped me in an ice room..." trembling he whispered.

Bai tried to hug him but Eric evaded. He knew how powerful the ice and yin energy in that ice room was. he did not want Bai to experience that as well. "I’m... I’m fine. Just stay a bit far from me today."

"Fuck this!" Bai garbed his hand and pulled him into a tight hug. "you’re freezing Eric. Gods." he hurriedly cupped his face and warmed it with his warm palm.

His lover had always been unusually warm. Even his single touch was able to bring warmth to him.

Eric closed his eyes, letting out an icy breath. "Your hands... take them away. You’ll freeze Bai..."

"it’s my dream. I can’t freeze!" Bai whispered hugging him even tighter. "What went wrong?"

"Something unexpected. I left behind something. I had to go back... and I got caught. He shut me in the ice room.."

"What was so important that you went back? Your life is more important that anything!! Eric!!" Bai Yuri cupped his face and kissed his cheeks. "you’re an idiot...."

"Yeah, I feel like an idiot too." He admitted. With the system around, he was sure to face dangers. He had expected an easy escape that was his first fault. "Tomorrow I can escape for sure. I have a dagger with me..." he tremblingly whispered into his ears.

"You are not thinking of confronting him, are you?" Bai pulled away peering into his eyes.

"Initially I had no plans to. That guy is too powerful. I just wanted to run away. But I don’t think it’s possible now. I have to fight back Bai... I have to...." He leaned back slightly so that Bai won’t feel his freezing breath. "I’ll survive for you. I have to heal you and wake you up."

Bai held his trembling hand and warmed him up a bit.

Eric looked y at him with a small smile. "you’re like sleeping beauty. I’ll wake you up with a kiss... romantic, isn’t it?"

"Very romantic..." Bai whispered softly. His lips were trembling slightly.

The guy was on verge of tears.

Eric cupped his face and peered into his eyes. Bai was silently crying. His tears were running down his face. "Wow you are handsome even when you cry...." He kissed his cheeks. "don’t worry, I won’t die."

"I fear... I fear you might not keep up that promise." Bai let out a small sob. "Eric, you said you will live for me... so survive for me. Come to me... please..."
