Chapter 177: Chapter 177 - Failed escape

For what seemed like an eternity, Eric was made to cultivate. He was not provided food or even a minute of rest. From morning to eve, he just sat there in that meditative chamber.

Cultivating did give him a boost of energy but that didn’t it takes away his feeling of hunger and body aches.

Sitting still for so long, he had already lost feeling in his life and his back was aching so badly. His body also seemed to be a growing one. It’s bad if this goes on and he might develop some spinal problems because of this.

He slightly peaked at his said master.

The Taoist monk was still cultivating as well.

’I can’t take it. I’m hungryyyyyyyyy!!!!! I’m just going to sneak out of here. ice room or whatever. I can handle it. I’ve had an icy body in my last life. It’s not that bad.’ He slowly started to crawl over to the doorway.

"Where do you think you are going?" the stern voice made him freeze.

Eric glanced back in shock.

The monk had a raging look on his face as he peered at him. "Jung!!!"

"you are almost fifteen years old and you have still not achieved the third level of cultivation!!!" he growled out loud. "ice room for five days! You don’t get to eat or sleep. cultivate there until you absorb all that yin energy in the ice!!!!"

’Ohh shiatttttt. the old man is pissed! should I make a run for it? Or suffer the ice room?’

Without a second thought, he chose to run. After all, surviving one day at a time was his specialty. He ran around and did in the garden area.

Surprisingly, the monk did not follow after him.

Eric found a few fallen fruits and quelled his hunger a bit. Even so, fruits alone were not so sustainable. They digest so fast that he got hungry so easily.

" Why is he doing this to me? at least he could feed me or let me have a potty break. This is relay torture.. maybe I should call the police to complain about abuse...’

Suddenly, that small thought stuck in his mind. ’yeah.. I can do that. I don’t necessarily have to stay here. the system never asked me to either. I can leave.... Nice.’

Eric was ready to go ahead with that plan for the next day as of now he hid in the garden until the sun went down.

The beautiful sun cast a golden light on his face as he looked up.

’even in different worlds, the sun and the sky are still the same.. I feel like I’m somehow still connected to him.’ He placed a hand on his beating heart. " Can you hear me Aaron? I’m coming back to you. Don’t get lonely. Don’t get sad. I will be back.’

Soon darkness started to cascade through the beautiful forest. in the morning this place looked like a beautiful ethereal garden but at night, it had a very very creepy vibe to it. the leave rustling and the owl hooting sounds everything combined to create a very eerie atmosphere.

Eric, who had decided to stay in the garden for the night had to compromise. He snuck back to his room and locked the door from the inside.

Laying down on the tatami mat, he started to analyze what he had learned today

This world was a cultivation world. But he was not sure if he was in modern times or in ancient times.

If in modern times all he had to do was call the cops and complain that he was kidnapped. He bet the monk did not have any bort certificates for him.

But if it was the ancient world, he had no other go but to struggle here.

Unlike modern times, ancient times are a time period he was not familiar with. He did not wish to simply run out into the world without any clue. or who knows he could get kidnapped and sold without his knowledge.

’System you tell me are we in ancient times?’

{’no. this is modern world.’}

’ah nice.. then I just have to find a phone and made a distress call to the cops and cry.. hehe’ he giggled, wiggling around in the bed.

The system remained very quiet.

Eric did not delay in his plans. In the middle of the night, he crept out of his room and roamed around the place searching for a cell phone.

He searched and searched and searched... but he couldn’t even find a fucking landline.

"Are you really sure we are in modern times? why doesn’t he have a phone?"

{’monks’}

Eric had to struggle a lot not to scream in fury.

I’m not willing to spend even a second in here!!! I’m fucking leaving.’ He ran to the garden through the moon gate.

when all of a sudden, an invisible force repelled him away.

He couldn’t get through.

’Mommy! This guy put up something here! cultivators are scaryyyyyy...’

in fear, Eric looked around. He couldn’t spot the monk anywhere. ’Where else can I escape this place?’

He tried to climb through a window.

nope, it was sealed.

Through the back door.

That too sealed.

Everything was fucking sealed.

the fucking monk trapped him in there!!

He felt like a caged animal at this point/.

Fear and anxiety overwhelmed his small baby. He started to feel lightheaded. The cold wind had already turned his hands and feet blue.

"Jung....." a soft and sweet voice called him.

His head snapped back. The monk was standing there with a smile. "Come here, child. Why are running about in the cold."

Eric froze. His body started to move against his will toward him.

’Mom! He is controlling my body! System, give me some prop! Give it to me!!!’

{’searching system marketplace...}

The monk gently touched the top of his head. "Were you scared Jung? I’m so sorry master scared you. I won’t punish you today because you did a good job at cultivating," he took his wrist.

Familiar pins and needles passed all over Eric’s body.

"good, good. You are on the verge of breaking through. If you continue on, you can break through to third level by your birthday. That’s amazing~" the man smiled so happily.

Eric tried to give a smile as well, but it came out crooked.

This monk was weird. He acted kind one second and shouted and screamed like a monster the next. It was not normal at all.

"come." The man led him inside.

Eric’s heart was pounding so loudly in his chest in fear he might be sent to that ice room.

But thankfully the monk only helped him into his room. "sleep well. We will continue cultivation tomorrow as well,"

Eric felt the control that holding his body leave him. He let out a small sigh, gazing up at him. "Master, when is my birthday?"

"In ten days, youngling. You have to advance before that. Got it?"

He obediently nodded/

The way the man stressed for him to advance before his birthday was also strange.

So many strange things but Eric couldn’t get any answer/

By now he should have been used to being put in weird situations, but he still couldn’t make head or tails out of it.

Sighing, he laid down. "Escape plan failed. Now I’ve alarmed the jailkeeper. Fuck...’

’Fine if I can’t escape I have to do what I can do to survive.’ he started to search through his room thoroughly again. He even found a small broken piece of mirror hidden under the mat.

That morning, he did not have much time to observe his own body.

The reflection showed a young thirteen or twelve-year-old kid’s face. He had beautiful shimmer eyes and high-rise nose and pouty lips. He did not look starved in any way, though. His cheeks were glowing and rosy.

He touched himself doubtfully. ’Cultivation makes one pretty I think...’

Eric took out the notebook and reread what was written there. The young child seemed to idolize this master so much. He had written paragraph after paragraph on how his master was the best and how he was like a father figure.

The original owner had also mentioned his fifteenth birthday and how he was anticipating it. His master was going to give him a present then.

’Present? I don’t want his present. I just want to go home. Can a real Taoist monk be so cruel?’

He thought about it.

Eric had no knowledge about monks.

He had only seen a few monks pass by when he was vacationing in China with Aaron. As for this culture and rules, he was not privy to.

He hurriedly flipped to the last page and started to make an escape plan.

Previously when he ran out when the monk was meditating, the inviable shields were not there.

’so, if I can escape in the morning I can get out of this place? What then?’

’Find a cop and cry. use a pitiful face until they find help.’

His plan had come along well.

Eric grinned satisfactorily. ’I’ll get out of here in no time. Just you wait, mean monk.’
