The Rogue System [BL] -
Chapter 156 - Saving Lia
Chapter 156: Chapter 156 - Saving Lia
The bright embers of the flame reflected in Altren’s blank eyes. Like a motionless doll, he simply watched as many heroes rush out of the flaming building.
Jake came up behind him and sat down on the lounge chair. he calmly siped the cocktail in his hand. "do you like what you see? isn’t that wonderful? I have outdone myself in this world. Don’t you think so system?"
["host has done an excellent job"] mechanical voice answered.
"What percentage am I at?" Jake playfully picked Altren’s cheeks. "I don’t want this world to end just yet. I have such a high-quality play thing at hand,"
["world destruction percentage: 85%"]
Jake’s delicate brows frowned. "just eighty-five? What is this? Didn’t you say I can easily destroy this world?"
["unexpected variables have brought a vast change in the task. Host has to be cautious."]
"yeah yeah who can defeat me," he enjoyed the view sipping on a margarita.
["this is not a drill. Another system has invaded this world. host must be careful. Any form of damage to host’s body will directly influence my health"]
Jake sucked on olive with a deep frown. "why didn’t you say this earlier?"
["the high forces of this world prevented me from saying this, but now that we are at the end I can speak freely."]
Jake sat up pinching the delicate flute in his hand. "How powerful is this system?"
["weak"]
He scoffed. "Then why must I be worried?" He leaned back, humming softly.
From this angle, he could see two small figures rushing up in front of the flaming building. His eyes narrowed. "isn’t that Kong?" his eyes shone with interest. He had, of course, seen this body’s memories when he occupied it. Zhu Kang was a snakehead head member and a fucking cunt of the snakehead gang. He was just a plaything that the stupid original owner was obsessed with.
It was so bad that he would lash out at Kang even if he cast a look at others.
But after he occupied this body, he of course did not follow along with that guy’s abnormal hobbies. Plus, Zhu Kang was not his type.
Altren however has just the right muscles to titillate his heart.
He palmed Altren’s biceps. "Dearie, are you in love with me now?"
Altren nodded.
Even so, he did not feel that satisfaction. In all his previous worlds men fell for right and left but in this world, he hit a road block. Altren was in love with that hunk of a guy called Gwyn.
It was fucking annoying to even think about it.
He had so many target tasks to perform with him. but because Altren was not cooperative he lost the opportunity to earn so many coins!
Jake coldly glanced at Altren. "I had no other option but to use that. This world has to end.... tsk, the side effects though have made him very bland to look at,"
[....]
"say do you have any other potions that don’t have major side effects like this?" he tentatively asked the system.
["no"]
"oh... I can work with this for now. for the next world, you better give me a cooperative target character. This guy went off the rail too many times that I’ve got a fucking wrinkle on my forehead."
["host, concentrate on the task."]
Jake found a small magnifying telescope and looked through it. he watched Zhu Kang rush into the building in a hurry. And following him was a very familiar figure.
"wait a minute. isn’t that Gwyn? That annoying guy who cost me a lot of task coins." He glanced at Altren. "I can’t let you do the hard work. I don’t want to scar that pretty face. I’ll have my cronies do the dirty deeds,"
This body had a lot of disadvantages. First of all, it was fucking ugly. He had to use a market place tool to manually change his appearance. Since the tasks were centered around Altren, he took up a face similar to that Gwyn guy.
But this identity has an advantage. He had a lot of pawns to use at his dispense. All he had to d is sprinkle a bit of his hypnosis powder to control those stupid brains.
He pulled out his phone and sent a message.
"take out that bulky guy and that short guy,"
Like ants, the villains who were hiding in the corners all swarmed out heading to the building.
"good~"
****
Kang ran..
He ran to the building. "Lia! Lia!!!" he screamed loudly.
"Hey, I thought everyone had left. you can’t go in there!" another hero came to stop them, "stop!"
Kang simply karate chopped his neck and rushed into the building
"Help..." the soft voice came from somewhere in there.
He was not able to spot the exact location as the sound of fire crackling was disturbing.
"Lia!! Tell me where you are!" he shouted as loudly as he could.
"....."
"Lia! Lia!!!!" there was no time to waste. He dashed through the dingy hallways to the familiar basement floor. It was the place where Zhu Kang grew up and lived in.
The coffin-like rooms were all still in the same condition.
He pushed open each door,
"Lia! Where are you! can you hear me? uncle Kang is here to save you! I just want you to make a sound! Anything... just keep making any noise.," he shouted as he kicked open another door.
Inside a pair of children looked at him vigilantly.
For a second he did not know how to react. He glanced back at Gwyn. "Escort them out."
Gwyn nodded, heading into the room. he grabbed a hold of the youngest of the two.
"let go!!!" the kid screamed, putting up a fight.
"hey!" Kang glared at them both.
Instantly they went quite shivering like little bunnies. "we don’t mean you no harm. This place is literally on fire! We have to evacuate! So follow along silently!"
The two meekly nodded.
Only after that did he continue his search. The rest of the rooms were empty. "Lia! Can you heart me!!"
Nothing...
He got nothing.
He glanced back at the two kids. "you two, do you know a small kid with black hair? He is called Lia. Where is he at?"
The eldest of the two hugged the young child close. "we don’t know. don’t hurt us,"
"I won’t hurt you! just tell me."
The child hesitantly glanced at him and then at Gwyn.
"God, how many times do I have to tell you this? we are here to save you. we are fucking heroes!!"
The kid’s eyes shimmered slightly but then he became much more vigilant. "why aren’t you in your super suits?"
"well, we didn’t have any time to put anything on. I’m literally in my sleepwear. Now can you tell me where Lia is or not?"
The kid nodded. "That kid was sent to the dungeon. He was not that strong.... So they were planning on selling him off somewhere,"
"Fuck!" Kang growled. "Gwyn, take them out. I’ll bring Lia out of here."
Gwyn did not respond. He glanced up at the ceiling with a deep frown.
"What are you looking at?"
Gwyn shushed him and pointed to a particular spot.
The chipped pain was dusting off sprinkling like snow on top of their head. The ceiling trembled slightly.
Kang’s eyes widened. "shit.. how many do you think?"
Gwyn held up ten fingers.
"ten?!" he mouthed.
Gwyn shook his head. "more than twenty." He mouthed.
"fuck...."
He looked around for a way out.
"We can kick off the walls and escape," Gwyn said hopefully.
"you don’t know brother. This fucking place is indestructible." Kang anxiously pranced around.
"really?" Gwyn simply punched the wall. A huge hole opened up. "it doesn’t seem indestructible to me."
Zhu Kang and the three others just looked at the wall and then at Gwyn.
"what? aren’t you guys in a hurry?"
"oh shit," Zhu Kang dashed away into the interior of the building.
Gwyn pushed out the two kids and followed him.
The dungeon as the name suggests was the lowest level of this building. It was where the isolation chambers existed. The wildest and untamable supers were trapped there until their mind collapsed or if they were willing to follow the gang rules.
That’s how they broke down young super heroes.
It was such a cruel thing to do.
He jumped down a winding staircase and ended up in a dark pathway.
"Lia!"
A small tapping sound was heard.
"Lia! Is that you? continue making that sound okay!. I’ll get to you! I’ll find you!" he ran in the dark.
By the end of the hallway, he that the small sound stopped.
"Lia dear! Lia... Lia!!!"
A small tapping sound came to his right.
He placed his ear on the door. "Dear are you in there? Its me, Kang. if you are close to the door move away.,"
He did not wait any longer. He kicked the door away and crawled in.
In that tight space, the young kid was curled in on the floor like a little worm.
"Lia..." he picked him up and hugged him tightly. The first thing he did was check his pulse.
"Thank god you are alive... let’s get out of this place."
