The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance
Chapter 75: Behaved

Chapter 75: Behaved

"You killed him?" Bella asked, shocked at the body of James.

Mathew knew he couldn’t bring the corpse back to the pack. Therefore, he dragged it into a nearby inconspicuous cave and threw the body there.

"Almost dead," Mathew corrected before looking over to Charles. "Didn’t you say you needed an Alpha to reconstruct my bloodline? I have one here. Will it make me an Alpha now?"

Mathew’s eyes held greed and anticipation in them. Thinking about how he would stand in the same league as an Alpha now pumped his blood with joy.

Charles inspected James’s body.

"He is a strong and healthy one. Although nowhere as good as Alpha Sylas, he would do for now," Charles voiced out.

Mathew expected that. "When do we begin?"

"You need to remember you will be going through intense pain and can’t give up in the middle. Many are unable to go through the pain and commit suicide," Charles informed.

A frown settled on Mathew’s forehead. Mathew wondered how severe it could be. However, he was determined to go through it, believing his willpower will allow him to survive through the transformation process.

"Charles, you can put your trust in me," Mathew said.

"Then, this will take at least half a month. You should arrange other affairs, so that nothing interferes in the middle or deems you suspicious. If you’re interrupted, you will lose your life," Charles warned.

"What do we do about James’s body then?" Mathew asked. His pack is going to start searching if he doesn’t return today.

Bella smiled. "Let me handle that."

She then reached out for his pocket and revealed his phone. There was a sly smile playing on her face.

Lucas touched Lydia’s nose, staining it with the flour in his hand. A chuckle left his mouth.

"Look at you, Silly Boo," Lucas teased.

His childish behavior stopped Lydia from kneading the dough in her hand for a second. She sunk her entire palm in a bowl of flour and slapped it on his face, not holding back her strength.

"Who is the Silly Boo now?" she mocked his voice. A chuckle left her mouth at how funny he looked with the slap print on his face.

And then, Lucas retaliated the next second by raising the entire bowl of flour, dumping it over her head.

"Now, beat that." There was a winning smirk on his face.

Lydia’s eyes watered up, blinking to get the flour off of them. She sneezed and wiped her face, shouting, "Lucas!"

"Oh no! Look at it! It’s Casper the ghost! Save me, someone!" Lucas dramatically exclaimed.

"Now, you have done it," Lydia stated before grabbing the bowl of whisked egg.

Lucas stared at it alert, and before he was able to avoid it, Lydia chucked it towards him. The wet egg mixture covered Lucas up.

Then, the click of the camera was heard.

Both of their head snapped towards Violet. She smiled and said, "Now, that’s what I call a perfect picture to represent friendship."

Lucas smiled at Violet. It looked scary. "Now, Princess, be a good girl and delete that."

"I will suggest both of you go and take a bath. You have a lot to work on in the kitchen," Violet voiced out before rushing out of there.

She knew there were no chances of her keeping that photo once Lucas caught up to her. Lucas was swift on his feet as he went after Violet.

Seeing how he was close to catching her, a yelp left Violet’s mouth. She spotted Sylas, and considering him her savior, she stood behind him, grabbing his shirt.

"Help me, Alpha!" Violet desperately exclaimed.

Sylas looked at the mess Lucas was and took a step back. His furrowed brows expressed his disgust.

"You’re dirtying the house, Lucas."

Lucas wanted to touch Violet, but Sylas’s warning eyes prevented him from getting close. He looked at Violet and said, "Princess, you better have that photo deleted, or else it won’t be pretty once I get my hands on you."

Once Lucas was out of the picture, Violet printed out the polaroid and waved it in front of Sylas.

"See, aren’t they getting along perfectly well?"

"You’re a handful," Sylas said, patting her head.

By the time the meal was prepared, the sun had already started to set. The hunger gnawing inside Violet’s stomach made her almost follow the rabbit to chew the grass.

She realized how sending Lucas and Lydia to the kitchen at the same time wasn’t a smart decision.

Violet sighed.

At least it eased the relationship between them.

As soft music played in the background, Violet finally began to devor her much awaited for food.

And throughout the entire time, she took advantage of the polaroid camera. Finding a new hobby, she clicked photos.

Lucas looked at the photos and commented, "Princess, do you have a grudge against me? Why do you always capture these ugly photos of my handsome face? It must be a talent to find these angles."

"I think they are pretty cute," Violet responded, "don’t they show off your personality well?"

Lucas simply thought he looked like a fool.

"You’re biased, Princess. What’s with these pretty photos of Alpha? We can clearly tell who is the favored one in this household," Lucas complained.

"But isn’t the Alpha always pretty?"

Lucas shook his head. This girl was helpless.

The night then continued on with a variety of board games.

Sleep caught up to Violet soon enough, and she couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer. Therefore, she leaned on Alpha’s shoulder, resting there as the man read a book.

Lucas, on the other hand, found Lydia and threw a can of beer towards her. Lydia raised her hand to grab it.

Lydia spoke up first.

"What happened that night was a mistake. I was too emotional," Lydia stated, "and lost control. It will never happen again."

Her hold on the can tightened, creating a dent.

Lucas opened the can of beer in his hand and took a large sip.

Then, he said, "It’s alright. Ladies want to always sleep with me. I have that effect on them."

Lydia glared at him and raised the can of beer. "Don’t make me hit you."

Lucas grabbed on to her hand, lowering it and opening the can. He then said, "This is for drinking, alright? You’re a lady. You can’t always talk about beating others up."

"I wouldn’t do that if you behaved well."

"Fine, fine, for the night, I will admit it’s my fault. And Violet scolded me for it. I realized I have gotten a little far with my words. I am sorry," Lucas said.

"This is not going to make me apologize to you," Lydia responded.

"Hey!"

"But I do need to control my temper better and choose better words," Lydia expressed.

Lucas was about to tease Lydia when his phone rang up and he received the call.

"Stella? What are you calling me for now?"

Lydia’s eyes darkened. She took a large sip out of the beer while the metal crushed under her grip.
