The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance -
Chapter 60: Melted
Chapter 60: Melted
"Master, I think you would want to know this," Bella spoke out. There was a hint of nervousness in her voice.
A middle-aged fierce man emerged from the dark. There was a rough scar running across his mid-face, extending from one. Scary marks of stitches were left around his neck. His hair was messily scattered, but those dark eyes of his were deep and intimidating, making him appear sinister.
"What?" he questioned— his voice coming out hoarse and commanding.
"Violet— the father of her child is Sylas Hale. The Sylas Hale who had done this to you," Bella responded after taking in a deep breath.
Hearing Bella mention that name caused shadows to appear in his eyes. His jaw visibly clenched, and he folded his hand in a tight fist.
"Sylas Hale." The name rolled off his tongue in bitterness and anger.
"She is pregnant with his child?"
Bella nodded. "Apparently, he was the one who personally took her away the night we drugged her. Why do you think he took her away? Could it be that he was interested in her?"
"Sylas Hale... Sylas Hale... The man who was so deeply in love with his mate— for him to want to take away another woman and impregnate him... What could this mean?" The man expressed.
"He is protecting her so well now. Because of that, we aren’t able to do anything to do her. Do you have a solution out of this, Master?" Bella carefully asked.
Those dark eyes then had a glint appear in them before a creepy smile formed on his lips.
"Someone is pregnant with his child. Things are about get interesting now, really interesting," the man commented.
Bella stared at him in confusion at his cryptic words.
"I will go with you to your pack. Doesn’t that man of yours want to become strong? I will make him stronger, stronger than Sylas Hale," voiced out the middle-aged man.
Bella’s eyes widened for a second before she smiled in a flattering manner. "Is it really possible for you to do that, Master? Isn’t Sylas Hale too strong?"
The middle-aged man chuckled.
"He might arrogantly think now he is the strongest, but this is nothing that can’t be beat. There are years of grudges to settle between us."
Bella did not have the entire backstory of what happened between Sylas and her master. From the little snippets she had heard at times, she could gather that Sylas was the one responsible for leaving behind all those scars on her master.
Her Master escaped from Sylas with barely a breath, and even now, he has to survive on intense drugs to keep on moving. Because of werewolf’s fast healing ability, most of the wounds attained on their body goes away fast.
However, for the scars to remain on his body, she could only imagine how badly he had been once attacked by Sylas.
Although the history between Sylas and him made her curious, there wasn’t courage inside her to question him about it. Despite him being her Master, she was still very much fearful of him, making her reserved.
"I will take you to the pack them. Mathew has been clamoring for a while to get strong. If you go over to the pack and guide him, then I wouldn’t have to hear him beg me all the time," Lydia complained.
Her Master’s eyes slowly scanned across her face.
"Are you in love with that man?" asked the man.
Bella shook her head. "There’s no way I would be in love within him. He is such a pathetic loser. I do not know what you noticed in him in the beginning."
Bella frowned, thinking about Mathew’s behavior these days.
Her Master shook his head to show his disapproval towards Bella.
"This shows that you have yet a lot to learn. You need to remember that foolishly greedy people like him are the easiest to use and control. They do not think as long as they are getting what they want."
"I apologize, Master."

Lucas placed his hand around her shoulder and pulled her close. He then said, "I heard what happened, Princess. That child was afraid of you. What an ungrateful kid! After what you did for her, how could she react that way! Absurd!"
Although Violet knew this was Lucas’s way of comforting her, she corrected, "She was right to be scared of me. Anyways, forget it now. Probably this was for the best."
"Right. It’s not as though you need a brat like her as your friend. It is enough to have me," Lucas spoke out.
Violet nodded before removing Lucas’s hand from around her shoulder and maintaining some distance from him.
"Lucas, I will talk to you later. Alpha promised to train me today. He will be mad at me if I late," Violet stated.
"Didn’t you want to learn how to use the bow from me? Why are you sticking to the Alpha again?" Lucas questioned, feeling unfair. The favoritism Violet showed Sylas was getting worse.
"Do you want to learn how to use the bow from him?" asked Sylas, walking over while wiping his wet hair with the towel.
Violet immediately shook her head and went over to Sylas. "I have already booked you for now. You can’t ditch me, Alpha."
Her round hazel eyes attempted to stare at the Alpha in a solemn, intimidating manner.
"Follow me then," Sylas said.
Violet waved her hand at Lucas and walked off.
Watching Violet’s distant back made Lucas shake his head and comment, "She can truly be heartless at times. Once she has the Alpha, she abandons me without a second thought."
"So, does it make you jealous?"
Hearing Lydia’s voice suddenly made Lucas almost jump in his position from being startled.
"Where did you appear from all of a sudden?" Lucas questioned. Creases formed between both of his brows.
"It makes sense. You have done a lot for her— from cooking to trying to do everything that suits her taste. Even then, she chooses the Alpha over you. This definitely shows what an incompetent loser you are," spoke out Lydia.
"What nonsense are you spouting now?" Lucas frowned.
"I think it’s funny to have you be rejected," Lydia said.
"So, according to you, I have a crush on Violet and I am sad because she chose Alpha over me?" Lucas questioned.
"Violet has a good sense of judgement," Lydia commented, nodding her head approvingly.
Lucas felt irked at her words.
"What do mean being rejected when I did not even confess to her? Sorry to disappoint you, but if I chase after Princess, she would easily fall in love with me, alright? Get these nonsense out of your head," Lucas retorted.
There was a mocking look in Lydia’s eyes.
"Stop daydreaming in this broad daylight. You have no chance against the Alpha," retorted Lydia.
"Ah, according to you, I have no chance with Violet. But what about you? Didn’t you use to run after the Alpha all the time? You also had a obvious crush on Alpha, but didn’t he just ignore you straight? At least I didn’t reach that bad of a state. Princess doesn’t ignore me." There was a teasing grin on his face.
Lydia’s face darkened upon thinking about that time.
Back when the Alpha was a teen in the pack, almost all the young girl there admired him. The Alpha was blessed with good-looks, strength, and manners. Lydia happened to be one of them as well.
She had indeed done quite a lot of foolish things that left a deep, humiliating mark in her memories.
However, soon the thing changed, and Lydia, along with rest of those admirers, were not able to view Sylas in the same manner. Although the Alphas of their previous pack was intimidating and scary, Sylas was crazy on a different level.
Lydia remembered thinking how he was a devil reincarnated straight from the hell.
Even now, Lydia’s opinion of Sylas hasn’t changed, but her devotion towards him came from how she felt grateful to him for taking her in.
She had good reasons to think his kindness for Violet wasn’t without hidden motive. But she also believed he was on the way of developing feelings towards her although that might take time for him to recognize and accept.
However, no matter what, she wanted Sylas to be back to being normal again, regain his spirit instead of being a living dead like now.
She thinks Violet can change that.
"Shut up," Lydia shot towards Lucas.
"What? Does that hit a sore spot of yours?" Lucas taunted.
Lydia scoffed. There was no use in wasting time with him further.
Lydia was about to climb up the stairs to the house, but the lack of sleep in these few nights got to her. It made her feel dizzy for a second, and she almost tripped forward.
But before she could hit the door with her head, Lucas placed his hand on her stomach, supporting her.
"Look at you being more careless than Violet. What a worrywart," commented Lucas, shaking his head.
The gratefulness Lydia felt towards Lucas for protecting her disappeared into the air instantly, and she stood up straight, raising her leg to kick him on his knee.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? These are my new jeans. You dirtied them! I should have let you fall down!"
Violet, on the other hand, was holding the gun, focusing. As the fight between Lucas and Lydia reached into her ear, she turned her head.
A smile formed on her face as she said, "Both of them are being lively again."
"You are getting distracted again. Concentrate."
The next second, Violet felt the sharp yet sweet scent of the grape wine envelop her. Sylas stood behind her, positioning her arm properly.
The smile on her face tensed, and Violet’s heart clenched a beat. Because Sylas had been so close to her after such a long time, Violet felt unprepared to handle it.
"What are you thinking? Look here. This is how you focus the gun." Sylas’s gentle velvety voice fell into her ear.
The patience he showed towards her while slowly guiding her melted her heart.
And then, Violet shot the bullet from the gun.
